"As you wish" she nodded, not about to so anything to make things more awkward. She couldn't stand awkward so urg, fuck that. "You have my number and I can text you Toran's as well so you don't need to go through me" she really rather not know considering what had been implied earlier. "As for the other... Well, I'll be asking the Prince for a meeting, present him the letter and one I've written in person so that we can discuss the matter. I reckon I'll end up owing him if I can get him to agree considering I hold no real status or position" slave marker didn't count. "But that's no one's concern but mine" Lucy smiled with a small nod of her head. |

"I rather think I have a concern in the matter too. I have no desire to see you made a slave just so I can join your world. ... I just want to be with you forever." The bearded man had a stubborn line to his jaw and he kept his arms crossed over his chest with a grunt. He wasn't sure he liked how many favors and requests she was having to make for this. Still, the thought of sharing every with her. The bond going both ways... everything. He just wanted it. He wanted it so he could be Lucy's equal in all things. She'd always be older obviously, sorta. He had been born before her. But still. He wanted to be by her side. |

"It's okay. I said I'd do everything I can to make it happen, and I will" that was sort of the thing, even without the bond she would do everything she could for him. The only thing she would refuse to do was betray her clan, family or friends. Because that would affect someone other than herself. Outside of that though... Well, she would do whatever she could to earn the right to Embrace him, so he could be free the way he wanted to. Even if she still wondered if he truly understood everything he'd be giving up. Heh... The Embrace might even change his feelings towards her when it was all said and done. He might not need or want her anymore. And while the possibility of that didn't scare him, it scared her, even though she didn't say it out loud. "One way or another, I'll find a way through the system" or just go around it... Go Anarch, say fuck the rules and take her chances. One way or another... Edited by Lucy Fehrer, Friday, 7. February 2014, 05:25.

Listening to their conversation about owing and all that George frowned, clearly thinking hard about something. As Lucy mentioned texting him Torans number, he nodded, breaking the train of thought for some words. "That would be nice, Lucy." After retaking the thought he kept thinking for a bit, then looked at them with a smile. "If I can be of any help with that, just give me a call... I could try shifting the debt for you, for example, if you want..." |

Toran simply nodded and sat quietly. He wasn't sure what went into the world of vampire politics, not as intimately as some but he was sure that words like "debt" were tricky things. Tricky enough to worry him when it came to Lucy being in debt on his behalf. His frost-blue eyes half closed as he contemplated it all. Was it worth putting her under someone's thumb? Was he just being selfish? Did he even deserve to consider spending the rest of eternity with Lucy? So often the things he touched ended up broken and collapsing. The black despair that lurked on occasion reared but he slapped it back down with a grunt. She loved him. He loved her. It was worth fighting for that bond to be as strong as possible. |

"I would never have someone else shoulder my debt, but thank you for the offer" the Brujah smiled at her Primogen Sith a small nod of her head. "A Brujah stand by their word" and she meant it. The Swede was proud of who she was, the Clan to which she belonged. She would do nothing to somehow tarnish it. "Thank you, George... I know words mean little, but, thank you" she nodded again. "If you want, I can register a boon with the Harpy. Though regardless of what's on the books, I swear I'll pay you back whenever you find use for me" she wasn't going to run from that. While she spoke, she couldn't help but rub the newly healed knuckles of her hand with the fingers on the other. A gesture she wasn't aware of, bit which she none the less did as if there was a lingering ache she wanted to get rid of. |

Scratching his head George frowned. Did he really implied he'd take the burden off her completely? "It wouldn't be about taking it from you but sharing it to have you carry less, you know ? Helping you with it and all that... Because that's what my job is for: Helping my clanmates..." Smiling at her nod appreciatively he shook his head at her offer. "You're welcome. A registered boon with the Harpy wouldn't be necessary, if you ask me, as your word would be enough for me, but if you insist, you can do that..." |

She actually looked a bit relieved. "I'm happy you trust me enough not to want to go through the Harpy. For what it's worth, I stand by word. Though should you ever change your mind or find that a boon would be more helpful to you, just let me know and I will talk to her" otherwise, well, she was happy to keep it between them. It was easier that way. "And you know, you're good Primogen. There's not a whole lot of people who'd go to the lengths you are to help out their Clanmates" maybe he saw it as his job, but far from everyone was as inclined to lend another a helping hand the way he did. Clan or not. "And I kno wyou didn't mean to take the whole burden off me, just... I wouldn't wish to bother you with my debts, if that makes sense? You're already helping me out more than i think you realize" Now all that remained, theoretically, was to speak with the Prince... |

George nodded, pulling a lengthy explanation out. Maybe she didn't see it his way, but at least he could perhaps make her understand his position about it a bit. "You know what I was taught back in the days ? Exactly that, standing up for your comrades and help them in any way you can is what makes the difference between a good leader and a bad one... And I want to be a good one, so I'll try helping you any way I can, you know ? So you can call me for anything you think you need help with and I'll try helping if I can..." Then he did another explanation on trust, not really expecting her to understand the way he saw it, but if she did it would be good. "I know that trust is somehow against our nature or something like that us being selfish monsters and all that, but at least I like to be able to put some trust in those serving with and under me, if that makes sense." Her last sentence apparently confused him and he looked at her quizzically while wondering. "I am ? Well, pleasure to help but how exactly do I do that ?" |

The large ghoul understood favors and debts. They were big factors in organized crime. Seemed the vampire world and the mob might not be so different. Bosses on top of the pinnacle of power, underbosses to control each of the areas of responsibility, enforcers and tally keepers to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed too... and folk had to be made men to get in. He almost chuckled considering all the times he'd avoided getting dragged into one of those criminal groups he'd done work for. Well, he had no illusions as to where he'd be. If he was let in it'd be a foot soldier, no more no less. Still, George didn't seem like the kind of guy who just waste new material. So it probably wouldn't go that badly. |

"You got a bit of a temper problem going" Lucy winked at George, seeing all of their Clan had that problem. "But yeah, you're a good leader actually. And you're helping me more than you think by simply being that kind of leader. Someone it's possible to talk to and reason with. It lets me lower my shoulders and it helps knowing I have backup if anything should happen" it was a good feeling to know your Primogen had your back. Because some people were simply petty dicks. And some didn't care so much about blood or Clan as they did about personal gain. It was a pity really, but such was the world. Hence, it was good to see George wasn't like that. "And yeah... trust is... difficult for our kind a lot of times. Takes a lot to be able to lower your guard when you're a monster out of someone's horror story" she shrugged with a quiet smile. "But trust can be earned, and putting faith in those of your Clan is a good step in that direction. We'll get nowhere if we don't stand united. Rabble or not" she didn't much think that was a fair description really, calling the Brujah rabble. But, it was how a lot of people saw them. If nothing else, it meant it was something which might be taken advantage of. |

George responded with a nod and a wink to hers. "I dare you to find one Brujah without this little issue... I doubt you'll find one." He then smiled and started to explain his position on that with wide gestures. "Well, I'm trying my best to be. The clan deserves a good leader after all, you know ? I'm simply thinking with the lack of organisation our clan naturally has playing the big man and bossing you around isn't really the answer but trust and faith in you are... Because on the inside we're still more or less human beings and do have our good sides. Leading by example, seeing and encouraging the good sides of those you lead motivates them more to do their best than forced discipline and seeing just the bad sides, that's what my grandfathers and their friends taught me..." After a short nod, his face brightened as he started to talk about his dream for the clan, which might be a big one, but weren't all successful things just that at the beginning ? He didn't even expect her to like the idea. "And that's why I'm trying to manage, you know ? Getting the clan to be united and following the course set not because they must but because want to in the knowledge they can fully trust me to do what's best for the clan and not demanding more than I'm willing to do myself... Sure, it might be a big dream and a long way to go, but most big dreams took long ways to become true and it's not like I'm going to drop and scatter tomorrow, right ?" |

"Dreams are good. We need people who are willing and able to look at the future" Lucy wasn't necessarily the best at it herself. She tended to live in the now, specially after she'd up and lost her life so abruptly. But, yeah, she recognized the value of having someone like George around. "For what it's worth, while politically inept, if I can help somehow you need only ask" the younger Brujah smiled at him with a nod of her head. "Our Clan tends to be fractured and scattered. Sure, we're good at coming together when it matters. But even for that to happen we need strong leaders" like her Sire for one. She glanced over at Toran for a brief moment with blue eyes before returning her gaze to George. "Leading by example is the best way to go. At least I think it is" it might not always be the easiest, Hell, not always the most efficient either. But it did promote loyalty, and trust. |

"There's a lot to be said for top down loyalty. One of the greatest problem with cutthroat hierarchies is that if people don't feel that they're going to get backed from the top, only punished, their loyalty is incomplete. Nothing wrong with wanting to make a better world than the one you found." His voice was a deep soft rumble. He'd taken Lucy's look to mean she wanted him to back her statements. So he was just giving his opinion the way it saw it. There WERE worse things than having an idealist in charge. Even one with temper problems like George. "Course, having a solid chain of command can be pretty important too. It's good to be hands on but there's nothing wrong with being able to distribute the duties sometimes. To keep things organized. Frees your time up to make those plans for the future.... makes sure someone is keeping folk moving if you're stuck dealing with bureaucratic nonsense." Not that he was sure they HAD to deal with nonsense, but given the hoops Lucy was jumping through it seemed pretty clear that there were at least some hoops. |
