My name is Malia Hauke, Anarch childe of Kristoffer Jorgenson, Anarch Ventrue of Norway. I am currently in town, staying in Anarch territory while I pursue personal business with Jason Dahlgren, also of Norway. I was sired according to the traditions and released with honor. I have been given leave to travel on my own and attend my own business. If necessary I can meet you in a neutral location such as an Elysium but I reserve my right as an Anarch to not visit you in your Capitol. Please, by all means inform me of any businesses or matters that I should avoid for the sake of Clan Ventrue here in the City. I will of course, avoid touching any of your properties or businesses. If on occasion you might be able to loan me a ghoul I would owe you a boon, just give me the rules on how to handle them, as I have a tendency to play rough with my resources. Sincerely Malia Hauke |

The following typewritten letter is delivered by ghoul courier: To: Ms. M. Hauke CC: Mr. J. Henderson, Seneschal of London From: HH Alarik Blücher, Prince of London Subject: Re: Your Introduction London, 26th of March 2014 Dear Ms. Hauke, Thank you for your interest in becoming a resident of the Domain of London. Unfortunately, I cannot grant your request to dispense with the usual security procedures by meeting you at an alternative location. You are not welcome in my Domain until hospitality has been extended to you at Blythe House. Until the Traditions have been upheld, I will not suffer your presence in Camarilla-held territory. Nor will I extend to you the use of any ghoul, even in exchange for a boon, or invite you to attend meetings of the Board. If you should change your mind, you are welcome to contact my staff to schedule a formal appointment at Blythe House, where we can discuss these matters in a civilised manner, as befits our blood. Yours Sincerely, Alarik Blücher Prince of London ![]() |

Dear Prince Blucher: I'm sorry to hear that the Convention of Thorns mean's so little to you. It is a shame when such an aged and traditional piece of Camarilla law gets set aside. Specifically the parts where Anarchs are and I quote "Anarchs are guaranteed the freedom to act as they please short of breaching the “Masquerade” imposed for the protection of all Kindred from the kine." As I have fulfilled the prerequisite declaration of my status as an Anarch before my Elders. Nominally you in this case. I assure you that I have no intention of breaching or jeopardizing the Masquerade in any form and I assure you that I have the copy of these letters and your own missive to be delivered to Elders of various countries and Princedom including those of my origin land Norway and my most recent stay of Japan, making it clear that you consider the Convention of Thorns dispensable. If I die you can be sure that others will consider the consequences of a relatively new and untried Prince who is actively seeking to reopen the injuries of the Anarch Revolution. Given the unrest caused by the Free State of California I'm not sure how many people will approve of such a move. But I do admire your dedication to a cause. Good luck Sir. OOC

Malia received no further reply. Instead, the ghoul courier was sent to deliver letters to various city officials. To: Mr. J. Henderson, Seneschal of London Dr. K. Wilke, Grand Harpy of London Ms. J. Marlow-Diaz, Deputy Sheriff of London Mr. S. Flint, Deputy Sheriff of London Mr. Ryan O'Reily, Primogen of Clan Ventrue From: HH Alarik Blücher, Prince of London Subject: Hunted Person London, 26th of March 2014 Dear Sirs et Mesdames, I would have the self-proclaimed Anarch Ventrue known as Malia Hauke, childe of Kristoffer Jorgenson, brought before me in the Blythe House. She is charged with violating the traditions and fermenting political unrest amongst the anarchs. I trust in your dedication to the safety of this Domain, and may make an additional reward available to the Kindred who brings her in. Yours Sincerely, Alarik Blücher Prince of London ![]() |

After receiving the note, Sawyer set out to figure out who exactly his prince was ordering a hunt for. A target, after all, was rather useful in this sort of situation. As for why an anarch might be suspected of violating the traditions, and what exactly this Ms. Hauke had done wrong to deserve such treatment? He'd leave those questions to Jane. She would, he was pretty certain, be asking them. The only seemingly relevant information Sawyer managed to find was an old alumni website, entirely in Norwegian. Nothing more than a name (and how common a name was Malia Hauke, anyhow?), a graduation date, and a small, grainy portrait. Running the page through Google Translate didn't turn up anything of further interest. ![]() Malia Hauke Bachelorgrad i sosialantropologi, 2004 Universitetet i Oslo, Sosialantropologisk institutt A face and a name, at least, were something. Optimistically, he passed the photo along to his usual ShreckNET contacts, hoping it would, in turn, be passed on to someone who recognized her. Nosferatu in the domain of Oslo would be a start. He printed out two copies of the photo. One he slipped under Jane's office door with a scrawled Post-It note: "put a face to a name, maybe. supposedly malia hauke. seen her around? i'll let u know if anythin else comes up." The second he kept for himself. It was hard to make out much in the way of detail- the picture was grainy, pixelated, really only a thumbnail. Still, he could tell the girl was very pretty and very young. Dark hair, pale skin, keen... blue?... eyes. Something in her expression seemed oddly familiar, but at the moment, he couldn't for the life of him place where he might've seen that face before. He decided he'd think on it for a while. Perhaps during a relaxing knitting break. |

Jane did her own Googling, but she wasn't as good at it as Sawyer, so all she came up with were links to some random online forum called Danse Macabre. So she was pleased to find a possible visual id tacked to the outside of her door. She texted Sawyer thanks and noted the Norwegian University as a possible, though low priority avenue of investigation. Presuming they could find someone there who was willing to talk to them and spoke English. Sawyer was completely right about the "Jane will handle bothering the Prince for details." She ran exactly how she was bothering him by Sawyer so that he could give input before sending it along, and also picked the Nosferatu's more experienced brain about investigation protocol. To: s_flint@shreck.net From: eyeinvestigation@gmail.com Hey. Is Anarch territory outside our jurisdiction? Are they going to get pissed at us, or do we have to ask permission, to go looking for someone there? Do they have a sheriff we can liason with? Do we have an extradition treaty with them? I'm gonna send this to Alarik if that's okay with you: London, 26th of March 2014 Could you please give us more details about how she has violated the traditions and how she is fermenting political unrest? Detailed information about the nature of her crimes will be instrumental in solving them and preventing them in the future. Of particular use would be what vehicles of information were employed to discover the violations and political unrest. Do we have contact information for/can we contact Mister Kristoffer Jorgenson in regards to this matter? Thank you, Jane Marlow-Diaz Sawyer Flint |

To: eyeinvestigation@gmail.com From: s_flint@shreck.net So, first question, is this legal? Do we have jurisdiction there? Here's an answer. Sort of. It's complicated. In theory: Anarchs are responsible for their own, and for handling problems internally. Their domain is their own, and Camarilla justice doesn't apply there. They are, however, still nominally members of the Cam, whether they really like it or not. The Baron, in the end, is at least partially accountable to the prince, whether she likes it or not. In practice: this is where shit gets hairy. I don't get the impression the prince seems all that worried about issues of sovereignty, especially since the anarchs are functionally without any sort of leadership structure. The Baron (provided she can even claim that title anymore) hasn't been seen since last November; she shared pretty cordial diplomatic relations with the Cam. But without a baron to claim domain, there might as well not be any Anarch domain. As a bit of an aside- a one-sided precedent was established last September when the Tremere primogen committed hostile actions in the Baron's domain. Blücher handled his punishment and refused to leave him in Penvayllen's custody. Even when a slight was committed against against the Anarchs, the Cam dealt with their own. The reverse, however, doesn't seem to be true. There is no true legal recognition of the anarchs as autonomous. The Convention of Thorns recognizes even self-proclaimed Anarchs as members of the Camarilla. Only in areas with a solid Anarch power base do members rise beyond that classification. Without any Anarch power structure in London at all right now, Blücher's pretty justified in holding so-called anarchs accountable to his justice. Otherwise, they're just autarkis. Sectless. Generally fucked. 'Course that doesn't mean this girl did anything necessarily deserving of his justice. Who knows? We don't need permission to operate in their territory, but it might at least be a sign of goodwill if we tried to seek permission out. Will they get pissed if we don't? Probably. They don't have a sheriff, they don't have an extradition treaty. They don't even have anyone in charge at this point. Heard rumors they have a new Elysium now. Might be a place to start? I know at least one cover that would get you in without too many questions. Letter looks good. Those questions probably need to be answered. You just may not like the answer you get. - Sawyer |

To: s_flint@shreck.net From: eyeinvestigation@gmail.com So, first question, is this legal? Do we have jurisdiction there? Here's an answer. Sort of. It's complicated. I'm noticing a trend in this legal system. Anarchs are responsible for their own, and for handling problems internally. Their domain...his justice. Otherwise, they're just autarkis. Sectless. Generally fucked. So that precedent is probably out the window along with the former government. Particularly since it's not possible without a government. So we're basically dealing with an ungoverned state full of people predisposed to resent us interfering, despite the fact they don't have the infrastructure to self-police? That sounds kind of like the Middle East. 'Course that doesn't mean this girl did anything necessarily deserving of his justice. Who knows? Hopefully us soon. I really don't want to somewhere and have to say something like: "You're under arrest!" "For what?" "I don't know." We don't need permission to operate in their territory, but it might at least be a sign of goodwill if we tried to seek permission out. Will they get pissed if we don't? Probably. They don't have a sheriff, they don't have an extradition treaty. They don't even have anyone in charge at this point. Heard rumors they have a new Elysium now. Might be a place to start? I know at least one cover that would get you in without too many questions. Hospitality, right? I'm not sure what you mean by cover, so elaborate, but I wouldn't think a place advertising itself as a meeting spot for vampires would be hard for a vampire to get into. And if we go in under some sort of cover, doesn't that defeat the "Letting them know we're here so they don't get pissed" idea? I know an Anarch who's kind of old and pretty with it in general. I figure I'm going to give her a call to try and get a better sense of what's going on over there and how to not upset the not-in-trouble Anarchs. I remember you're dating one. Maybe ask her the same? I'm on board with the going to their Elysium idea once we know exactly what we're accusing her of, and have exhausted our known contacts. Letter looks good. Those questions probably need to be answered. You just may not like the answer you get. Very aware of that, man. ![]() |

Flint, Deputy Sheriff of London From: HH Alarik Blücher, Prince of London Subject: Re: Re: Hunted Person London, 27th of March 2014 Deputy Sheriffs, I refused to extend formal Hospitality to Ms. Hauke without first meeting her at the Blythe House, making it clear to her that she would not be welcome in Camarilla-held territory without first presenting herself. Thereupon I received a written message, a copy of which has been enclosed in this reply. Please note that I have already considered the possible backlash of having her brought in. In my view, it is preferable to remove such a cancerous element quickly, rather than letting it rot and fester on our northern frontier. Depending on the results of my conversation with her, I will have her shipped back to her Norwegian sire in a coffin, with a personalised note for him attached to the stake in her heart. I would recommend discretion. Better to snatch her off the street than to let the anarchs know that you're coming for her. OOC Sawyer and Jane look for Malia. During the course of the investigation they would... Plan To Infiltrate Anarch Territory "So I've got the face down. What's my name?" "Aguirre Efrain Maddox." "Augury?" "Aguirre." "Agree?" "Aguirre." "A gorey?" "Aguirre." "I think I need a different cover." Decide Not To Infiltrate Anarch Territory "But I don't know what she sounds like. How am I supposed to get her voice right? If someone tries to talk to me-" "Look, here! She sent me Vines sometimes..." *"Hey there, darlin'!", followed by six seconds of silly faces, ended with a blown kiss* "..." "Yes, it's totally lame, but yeah. Just try!" "Hey there, darling?" "..." "Not so much?" "Might work if Texas was the borough next to Brooklyn..." "Ah." "It's okay. Just don't say anything. That's actually pretty her." "If someone talks to me directly?" "...Hide." "Okay. This can be plan B." Question Camarilla Locals "Hammy, have YOU seen Malia Hauke?" ... "Trying to keep mum, eh?" ... "We have ways of making you talk. This is Blythe House, you know." "Are you talking to that skull again?" "...maybe." "That's no way to get a head." Brainstorm New Leads "Knitting? You knit?" "Yeah. You know Ellen, right? Ellen taught me how to knit." "Ellen taught me how to drink." "You probably got the better deal." "So you were in the store for yarn, what was Miss Hauke there for?" A long and awkward silence. "... She was looking for... uh... a belt sander." "A belt sander?" "Yeah, a belt sander. And some furniture polish!" "Craft stores don't sell belt sanders." "Well maybe some don't, but trust me. This one does. I know craft stores." "You know them?" "I know them." Case Local Businesses Where Someone Resembling the Suspect Was Seen "... So I paid for her things, but then I handed her the wrong bag! The one with my stuff in it instead of hers, basically. I'd really like to make sure she got her stuff back, but I didn't have a number or nothin' to call her. Plus, y'know. She was really pretty. Is she a regular customer here? Could I get her phone number?" "I'm sorry, sir, we don't-" Pitiful blue puppy-dog eyes. "I just need to give her-" "- release contact information of our customers. Store policy." The elderly lady behind the counter was apparently immune. Bummer. "Look, you can do it really, like, unofficially! Just dial it into my phone, I'll do the talking, and then you can delete it! That's all I need! Please, ma'am?" "Sir, I'm very sorry but-" Where was Jane when he needed her?! Finally find a Malkavian with dominate and- "Mr. Flint. Sawyer." Oh, thank god, here she comes. "I've looked through every aisle of this store. There are no belt sanders. Absolutely none." "Whatever, Martha Stewart, you win." Do Actual Effective Investigation London, 26th of March 2014 This document is classified by order of Alarik Blucher, Prince of London. Stake Out Elysium "It's a pun, see?" "Yeah, I get it." "You think she'll be back?" "Maybe. She came once." "Moshe was right, this roof would be perfect for a sniper or something." "Tell me if you see any cameras." "Cameras?" "Yeah. I'm curious how...wait. Sawyer. Visual confirmation on the woman coming down the street." "I see her." "Do you see her eyes? Ignore the tattoos." "Gimmie a sec to get the binoculars, Legolas...yeah the eyes are right. And the cheekbones. Let's go." A few hours later, Jane and Sawyer arrived at Blythe House with Malia Hauke in tow.
