To Whom It May Concern: The Gjestfrihet Club Master Jason Dahlgren cordially invites you to make use of The Hospitality Club at XX Blank Street, Enfield for all your gathering needs. Mr. Dahlgren understands that sometimes you'll need to find a quiet place to speak, to tend your needs and to arrange for business meetings. A place where you can strip off your masks and let yourself be who are you. The Hospitality Club is that place. A true slice of Elysium in a world of Anarchy and confusion. He asks only that you remember that this is a place of peace and invitation only. It took some work to find you to ensure that you received the message. Feel free to drop by at any time. Sincerely: Xavier O'Rourke, in Service to Jason Dahlgren. |

"Persona Non Grata"
|
Iakov had finished feeding for the night. His meeting with the two women had left him feeling low on energy and a half drunk lass in the alley had been a nice refresher. He'd laid her down to recover and gave Sokol his daily portion of blood. He had walked to the opening of the alley to gain access to the street. Before he could do this however, a black cat trotted out from behind a dumpster and peered up at him, its mouth opening wide as it yowled petulantly. This was terribly odd. Sokol growled low and crept up towards the cat, which looked terrified but stood in place. There was something on its neck. Iakov had but only to look at the large hound to silence him while he knelt down to investigate. Carefully he picked up the cat and looked it in the eye. "Where do you come from giving me messages? My hound is hungry. I wouldn't want you to get hurt you know. Will you cooperate?" The cat hissed and looked terribly upset, but Iakov held her fast. "Only a short while ago! Please! A terrifying squat beast of a man with red eyes. He was so terrible. Please let me down. This isn't anywhere I want to be. This thing itches anyhow. Won't you take it off?" Why did cat's have to be soo chatty? At least the little feline could sing a pretty tune. "You've never met this man before? Has anyone followed you?" The cat only mewed sadly. A moment later Iakov had gotten the letter off the cat and opened it up to read it before giving the cat to Sokol to hold onto by the scruff of its neck. "We're taking her with us. If she scratches you or makes a sound, be my guest and make a snack out of her." The letter, from what he could ascertain (with his poor English anyhow) was some matter of invitation. He knew none of the people or places listed on the invite, but the word Hospitality reminded him of his clients mentioning only hours prior. "Hospitality Club. XX Blank Street? Enfield?" He'd need to look at his maps. Either way, he headed back home, meandering through the alleys and streets with the hound at his heels, and one very sad cat hanging from its' jaws. I assume there has to be some kind of word of mouth network for the Anarchs. I mean, since they're not independent and are technically supposed to be a unified political group with cohesion there has to be some method of communal communication or else they'd all just be independent. |

There is no communal communication or word of mouth network because the majority of them barely know each other, if they've even met. Each of them are sequestered into smaller factions and circles of aquiantances- which remains the chief problem for anyone wishing to unify them. The last time they met publicly, they still had a baron. Since then, there's been no formal contact between the more divergent portions of the community. They don't keep a listserv or a book of physical addresses. Maybe they should. |

So realistically how the hell does anyone set about unifying the anarchs when they can't FIND the other anarchs, or get in touch with them, or get them to come to a safe location to talk? Might as well disband the sect if it's that impossible to get them to interact with each other. |

Well nothing stops them from getting to know each other and expanding their contact list from there and asking around, such as how Jeremy tracked down the Malkavians by asking around for their numbers and if people knew any more. |

Bingo. Jeremy had to dig to find a bunch of them (Agu comes to mind) and even then, most of that was only accomplished by tracking down mutual aquiantances or running into people at communal events. Anarchs don't have communal events atm, so that limits it to 'find people who know more people'. Which isn't so far-fetched. Grab Aguirre? You grab Church. Grab Tory? You grab Jack. The ones no one knows yet, like Vanja and Belle and Jelena, would have to be tracked down one by one, or else politically ignored. It's difficult, but it's not impossible. |

So what is stopping the Camarilla from absorbing them by force? If they are so scattered the Camarilla would have made a move by now. I know they already "consider" the Anarchs to be Camarilla, but they could crack down on them now with literally no repercussions, save for maybe a couple of pockets of resistance. I see the idea that they need to network, but Anarchs should have already been networking or they would never be able to form a unified front in time to protect themselves from anything. Now I am not saying the Anarch faction should be eliminated, I just feel like the dynamics seem weak. Either they do know each other well enough to establish basic communication, or I agree that they are all essentially independents. No one can just show up and claim to be an Anarch, but not be part of the Anarch Machine. That is like calling myself a Camarilla and blowing the Prince off and everyone else in the Sect. I just don't see why the Camarilla wouldn't have either driven them from London, forced them to be more receptive to Camarilla authority, or killed them all. The only ones who might be able to put together a token resistance is Gar and the Gangrels. Everyone else would fold immediately. The only thing I could see stopping the Camarilla from doing that is the fact that they can't without repercussions. The Camarilla don't crack down on the Anarchs because it isn't that simple in every other case. Anarchs are supposed to be firm communicators. Strong communication with decentralized command and control. That is what has always made them a threat. Without that, the Camarilla would have been forcing them to introduce themselves or worse. And this is all completely accurate and why they need to get their shit together soon- no matter who does it or who unites them. They are functionally independents. They are completely vulnerable for all of those reasons, and that's something they have to fix in game in the next few weeks. Only the whims of the Cam stand between them and absorption; they're protected by the fact that Alarik isn't interested in them at the moment and by little else. And whether it's a baron who unites them or just a coalition of active Anarchs, someone has to do so. They are in complete disunion at the moment. |

As a background FYI that should NOT be taken as In Character knowledge: the Prince has no interest in absorbing the anarchs by force at present because he lacks a proper casus belli and sees no profit in it. His long-term goal is to reabsorb anarch territories into the Camarilla fold and claim to be Restitutor Orbis while granting the anarchs internal autonomy and access to Havens and hunting grounds across London. Ideally with a Baron who is strong enough to police her own kind and stop them from stupid provocations that'd compel him to intervene. And then, of course, to crush the Sabbat. |
