Yeah, this was going well. The woman was staring at Yuki like a dog claiming a steak and it was no wonder Yukiko chose to leave the table. They had strict orders to avoid vampires that seemed to be in a mood or antagonistic. Maybe he should press his call button and summon Jason down to help things calm down. He wasn't sure if Leslie was aware of how creepy she was being. "I will pass along yer apologies." Jason had been pretty specific. Don't respond to criticisms or rise to what came off as insults unless they seemed to require his presence to deal with. While Leslie had just insulted him, whether realized or not, he wasn't going to respond to it. Instead he bent to return to the game of pool, though he failed to sink anything after resetting the eight ball. Not a promising go really. "I believe it's yer turn again ma'am." And yes, it was back to Ma'am. Silently the young Irishman wondered if cats mocked the mice they ate for not having a better sense of humor about the games the felines played. He felt it was an apt analogy. Personally he thought any ghoul who "forgot" that they were dealing with an immortal predator that fed off the essence of life they had churning around inside him to be something of an idiot. It would be like a gazelle "forgetting" the lion enjoyed a steak when the big cat came to play. |

The young vampire wasn’t happy with how it all happened. In her mind she had done nothing wrong. How many times had she been warned to stop clenching onto the humanity and believe more in the predator she was? She had lost count on it. A strange feeling took over as she started to realise her day s within the Sabbat. Somehow it had been easier then. What she saw and liked was claimed by her and nothing or no one could stop her. There were not many rules to think about. They were better than humans, stronger than them and definitely higher in the food rankings. Wait! Did she miss the Sabbat? She had to ponder that question for a while before nodding to herself and reminding her that those days were behind her. But why had Yukiko such an effect on her? Leslie decided she needed to stop thinking about it before she poked her Beast even more which was already on edge because of the female leaving her behind with Lynx. ”My turn?” She repeated in confusion. Oh! The game! At least he still wanted to play a game with her. She got up again and walked over to the pool table to restart the game. She took an idle shot. She was basically going automatic while her mind kept spinning about her own reaction. Her last frenzy and what she had been through in the basement of the Tripper had messed her up slightly. Since when had she become so possessive? She absolutely loved and adored Emily but she wanted Yuki as a pet, a play thing. Even though Yuki and the French Claire didn’t resemble each other at all Leslie thought that had to be the reason. Claire was a lovely French girl and when she was still Sabbat she had met the woman in a bar. She had resided a few hours in the mortal’s house and had some fun. Decent fun though! Talking and petting, yes. The Gangrel didn’t had this much fur yet but there was already enough to make the scientist curious. A touch of sadness moved behind her playful gaze when she wondered what had happened to the pretty girl. ”I think I’m jealous, you know?” she suddenly blurred out. She stared at Lynx with a smile. Within seconds she had become from creepy predator to almost normal teenager who just had the worst day at high school. The lively blush on her cheeks seemed to become even redder and if Lynx paid attention he would notice the slight movement of her chest going up and down as if she was breathing. ”Of you mortals and ghouls. Not all of you but most. I miss the sun. You have the best of both worlds and that makes me cranky at times I guess.” Edited by Leslie, Wednesday, 9. April 2014, 12:41.

"Aye, I suppose I can see how that might be a bit envy inducing, but ye should be aware. Yukiko isn't a ghoul. She's Mr Dahlgren's adopted daughter. He only lets her work here because she wants to help and it keeps her close." He could see why a vampire might feel a bit of jealousy towards a ghoul, since they got both immortality and relatively normal lives, but from what he'd been told a lot of ghouls got pretty messed up emotionally and mentally, and some were no better than slaves for their master's every whim. "Jason's a good Master, he wants me te be strong and independent and I love him fer it. But I've heard that ain't the case with a lot of Vampires. And there's the whole, going mad thing, that a lot o'ghouls seem te go through." He leaned over the stick and took a shot but flubbed it, his sparkling green eyes regarding Leslie. He could understand her being a bit jealous, but that didn't mean he'd let her get a bit abusive towards Yuki, so he hoped she calmed down and dealt with it pretty well so he didn't have to buzz Jason down to speak with her. |

His adopted daughter? Oh shit! That was even more troublesome than poking a ghoul the wrong way. Leslie looked genuinely worried and a tad bit afraid that she had screwed up with Jason. Yukiko had such an energetic vibe that pulled her in like a cat drawn to catnip. "I had no idea. I'll pay better attention to my behaviour in the future." Pity though! Such a pity they had seen her hidden dark side. Lynx had seen her before and that night had been so wonderful and now he had probably judged her as something she didn't want to be but had been this night. It dawned on her he had called her ma'am again earlier. "Hey! No more ma'am okay? It puts an even bigger emphasis on my mistake. Leslie or Les is just fine." If Lynx became distant too it would break her. Sometimes she was very fragile like the teenager she once was before her Embrace. "Jason seems like a reasonable person. I think you are lucky indeed. I have seen ghouls who..." She grew silent and looked at her feet. She had seen much worse and even aided others in punishments towards their ghouls. In the Sabbat they came and went in the blink of an eye. They were in quicker than they could get out and their only way out was through death. When she looked up she smiled and shrugged. "Nevermind. I'm not going to bore you with stories." She glanced over the pool table and took in the balls. When she was sure of which one to hit, she bend over and took her shot. The ball rolled... rolled... and disappeared in the pocket. With agrin she repositioned herself and took another shot which... failed. "Guess that was a lucky shot then. Oh by the way Lynx! I've hadn't had the opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed your music the other night. Thanks for that!" |

"No harm no foul Les. Glad to hear ye enjoyed the music. I enjoyed playing fer ye and Emily... and watching. Ye made a fun pair. Ye ever want an audience ye let me know." He hoped the joke would help her calm down and he held up his hands to make it clear he was joking. Then he twirled his stick and leaned down to take a shot, which he missed cleanly and muttered a curse in Japanese. "I'm more of a darts person meself, but I'm glad if yer enjoying the game. I'm gonna hafta admit te being a bit poor at pool. If ye want ye hear me play more we do have a piano upstairs." He leaned back against the pool table and chuckled, shaking his head and grinning at her. He could allow the situation to defuse. No permanent harm was done and Jason said that some Gangrel develop instincts they have a hard time dealing with. It's entirely possible that Leslie had some sort of instinctual response that caused her to act a bit... dodgy, at times. So he'd give her a chance, as long as she kept her fangs off Yukiko. |

Strange how she could become so happy just by hearing him say 'Les'. She hoped that her personality wouldn't get worse with getting older. What if this grumpy attitude started to grow on her? She was normally always very bright and bubbly. Leslie scolded at herself in her head and decided not to let it happen again. It had been a while since she had let her basic primal instinct take over. Luckily it had been rather calm. It could have been worse. She had been worse but not now. There was control inside of her. There always had to be control! Always! Audience? She grinned widely and a bit like a teasing cat. As if he would be able to handle two vampires making out. Besides Leslie knew that sex with mortals always brought her closer to frenzy during her climax than with a Kindred. But now due to her bond with Emily she doubted she would be able to stay calm if she saw someone else playing around with her love bunny. "Oh good! I suck at pool as well. Darts is my game too. Only miss out on my doubles at the bottom a lot but other than that I can say I'm pretty good at it. You should ask Jason if you can put one up here." she was a strange girl but a simple girl. Easy to please at times with the smallest sign of appreciation. Though her next question would be odd. "Can you play something classical? My dad loved that." Undead didn't mean she didn't have emotions or memories that could take her back to a place she once was happy. And she needed that happy place now. |

Setting down the pool cue Lynx gave a mock bow and walked over to the piano with a smile. Taking a moment to run his hands across the keys he made sure it was properly tuned and nodded. Classical he could manage. Starting with a bit of Mozart. His Piano Sonata 13. His hands seemed to dance across the keys as he played. His purple hair contrasted the calm piano playing and made him look decidedly odd. Still it amused him. His green eyes flashed as he played, closing them so he could get into the music and give it his full attention. He wasn't, after all, sure what kind of music she might enjoy. Classical had a pretty huge spectrum so he'd decided to start with Mozart figuring it was a safe bet. As the song wound down he switch to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata just to up the tempo and bring a bit more energy to the place. The music ringing through the down stairs pub like area. Normally he'd have taken her upstairs to play among the books on the piano up there, so as not to drown out the conversations but since she was their only customer at the moment there was no reason he couldn't perform for her down here. |

The moment he started playing Leslie closed her eyes. She knew the song but had no idea what it was called. Her fingers moved along in the air as if she was telling Lynx how to play it. Softly she hummed along and smiled while a single blood tear rolled out of the corner of her right eye. It made a crimson red trail on her cheek. Leslie opened her eyes and wiped the tear away with a handkerchief. Her body moved carefully, not seductively but just calm and respectful to the music. The Gangrel walked over to Lynx and stood next to the piano when he changed to another song. Another familiar tune and a bit more tempo in it. Leslie didn't dare to say a thing and just wanted to enjoy the music. She let the vibrations of all the notes go through her being and let it nestle in the depth of her mind. Her eyes upon Lynx who was losing himself in the music as well. His hands knew exactly what key to hit to create the wonderful music. She loved music but had no idea how to play a single instrument. Something she regretted but she luckily could enjoy what others did with their musical gift. Leslie went to stand behind Lynx and placed her hands on his shoulders. It was as if he made her feel humn again, a child again... alive. Gently she started rubbing his shoulders until she remembered touching wasn't allowed. She removed herself from him and stood next to the piano again. "Sorry." In that moment she was more the person she once was than the predator she was supposed to be. |

"S'alright. Glad te know me music could move ye." He shifted to a new song and continued playing softly. He was gently toying with the keys, shifting, rocking as he played the music for her to listen too. "Me Ma' started me on piano when I was five. When we lived in Japan a concert pianist gave me lessons when me Ma' taught his daughter English. I turned down a spot at Julliard in New York City when I was 18. I love playing but I didna want te turn into a soulless professional with no love o'the art." He spoke softly, weaving his words with the music so he wasn't jarring anything or covering the notes. He was glad this provided her with a soft moment. Glad he could do something to decrease the predation that had been leaking out of her. This was better. He could play music and remind her of happier times. Things worked well to chill everything down. |

When Lynx spoke his words didn’t disturb the music. She hated it normally when people started babbling in between music. Especially this type of music which deserved all the respect a person had. They were little wonders and so beautifully composed in such a harmonic way that it was a damn shame so little people could enjoy it. Leslie felt lucky and blessed she did know how to enjoy the music, how to listen to it and how to feel it. The notes were gliding through the room and the girl stood there listening with her eyes closed. She listened how his words entwined with the music and when she spoke she used that same calm and respectful way as Lynx did. ”That’s lovely. It’s wonderful to see so much potential and love in a person. I could listen to this all night but I think it might bore many.” It was a pity there wasn’t anyone around yet. It was no wonder though because most would first carefully lurk around to find out how Masquerade free this club was and if it was really safe. Leslie loved what Jason had done and it was nothing like the Tripper which was at the same time odd but also very pleasing to her. She had bad memories lingering around the Tripper. |

Shifting songs once more Lynx was content to just play. As Leslie had noticed, there wasn't anyone else here. So there was nobody to disturb her piano listening and if that was what she wanted, well, he could do that. It was all about pleasing the customer after all. Mozart, a chipper little tune to bring the senses alive. His nimble fingers danced across the keys and he bobbed up and down a little as he played, his green eyes closed, a tiny smile on his lips. This song had always struck him as a bit goofy. He always pictured a pair of rabbits chasing each other to the music. Just a personal little oddity for him. He was more than willing to play for Leslie as long as she asked him too. He really had no other duties but entertaining or feeding the guests and she'd turned down a drink earlier. So for now he could play and let her enjoy herself if that was what she wanted to do. His concert hall level playing filled the room with music, dexterous and full of emotional and joy as he played, putting his soul into the music. |

He was much fun to watch. The music created a warm glow in her dead heart. It was her heart beat. Music always did that to her. The right music that is. "How long have you been a ghoul?" she suddenly asked while she moved along on the music with her hands playing air piano. "Can I ask you for a favour even though my behaviour doesn't earn me one? Could you learn me something small? Just a few notes." she smiled and bowed at him. The young vampire was an eager vibrant creature and now that her mind and her Beast were back at ease she was back at being her playful self. Maybe this was exactly what she needed. Maybe it was the passion that swirled around Lynx that gave her the right vibe to continue this night without much trouble. |

"Ah, since before christmas so... 4 months now. I guess; and sure, take a seat." He shifted over on the piano bench to give her room. It was a simple song to demonstrate for her, but it could be surprisingly pretty when played right. He wondered why she wanted to know how long he had been a ghoul. Did he seem really bad at it? He probably did. He had a feeling Jason was really laid back and for all he was strict he ran things like a family and he didn't think that too many of the vampires looked at their ghouls like surrogate children or little brothers or however Jason thought of him. His green eyes sparkled as he showed her where to put her fingers and how to play the simple song. It was mostly a matter of getting the rhythm right. He was sure she'd pick it up before too long. It was an easy enough song to play. Which was generally why it was one of the earliest songs taught to people. "I suppose I'm not very good at the whole ghoul thing yet. But I do seek te learn. Jason is strict but very fair, so he doesn't push us as hard as I've heard some do. He's a kind man at heart. Just, firm." It wouldn't occur to Lynx to speak ill of Jason, even if he could think of something ill to say about him. Aside from his firm stance on lynx staying out of his bed he hadn't done anything remotely threatening that Lynx had seen. I mean, he did kill those three guys, but that was vengeance for their having tried to kill Lynx, so he considered that more than fair. |

”Four months? That’s nice. Must have been a shocking Christmas present.” she chuckled. It was a simple tune indeed. To listen to but to play it? Only one way to find that out. Leslie slipped next to Lynx and watched his hands and fingers. She tried to recreate what he showed her but wasn’t too sure about whether she was doing a good job or not. It was odd to place your hands in such an unnatural, to her, position. She did laugh softly and seemed to enjoy herself and trying to get it right. ”No I don’t think you are doing a bad job. We all have to learn. I’m just curious as I haven’t been on myself and wonder what it’s like. I do not doubt your abilities at all Lynx.” Leslie had the hang of it within trying and failing a few times. It wasn’t quick enough like Lynx did it but it was sure enough a start. She looked up at him as if she was waiting for further instructions on how to do it better. She hoped he wouldn’t just say she was doing a good job because of her being a vampire. That would really suck! |

"It was.... an odd experience te be sure. But Jason is a very fair man and it has gone well. As fer yer fingering, ye're hitting the right spot, ye just got te work on the timing. Once ye have the timing down at a slow pace ye need te pick up the speed and do it faster. Then it's just a matter o'practice." He showed her how fast he could do the simple song, much quicker than the earlier tempo. His fingers practically flew over the ivory, dancing up and down in a rapid sequence. "It's jest a matter of muscle memory after a while. Ye train yer fingers te know where each and every note is and it becomes instinct te know where they are. Once ye've got that down ye can fly over the keys as yer mind demands things and ye automatically nail the keys ye been thinking about. A lot of people do this by mastering the scales." He showed her the scales and how to pay them, showing her how to memorize the location of each note for her use as she played. |

It was a damn given now that she didn’t have much musical vibes in her except when it came to dancing. She could move and sway on music and a bit singing but playing anything was not in her blood. Then there were the scales. Was she supposed to understand that? She tried to get it in her fingers but they were apparently nimble for other things than playing the piano. ”Urgh, sorry Lynx. I’m not very patient and think I rather enjoy listening instead of playing it.” The young vampire got up again and seemed disappointed in herself. There were always certain things in life one was just not able to master. In almost everything she did or tried however she was set on making it work and doing good and admitting something was too hard for her always made her sulk. ”I think I better go. This night has been awkward and I’ve been inside for way too long. Maybe I’ll see you around another time Lynx. Good night and sorry again for earlier with Miss Yukiko.” With a tiny nod she walked out of the club and left the ghoul on his own for the other customers who would hopefully come. It was different than the Tripper and maybe what Anarchs needed. A Tripper and this club. It would at least show the Camarilla that not everything was about music, bars, drugs and booze. This was a more decent place for meetings and talks. With that thought she disappeared in the night. |
