The Kindred Chronicle
Key Figures
THE MONSTER OF EALING
Last night, several people reported the sighting of a "screaming red monster" in a quiet neighbourhood of Ealing. After a power shortage in the area, a building caught fire. It was then when, what was described as a "man shaped, footless creature" emerged from the flames, leaping, running, and screaming. One woman has told our reporters that the man had "teeth like a wolf, and the face of the devil". Police officers are still trying to get to the bottom of this; neither the power shortage nor the fire have still been explained. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard has stated that the "so called monster" might be a wounded person, escaping the fire.

TRAGEDY IN TOOLEY STREET
The police has found the bodies of three TFL workers in the construction site at Tooley Street. One of their colleagues raised the alarms last week, when the three workers didn't attend their shifts. The bodies of the men have been found in a deep hole, uncovered by the refurbishment works that are taking place in the area. According to the Police, the bodies were horribly mutilated, which has led to the wildest speculations. The names of the three workers are being kept anonymous, following the wishes of their families.

HOROSCOPE
MARCH 8 - PISCES
You are used to making sacrifices, to prioritising the happiness of others before yours. Even though that is a noble attitude, there are times in life where the only healthy alternative is to embrace your own selfishness and allow yourself some enjoyment. Reserve one hour per day to do something you really like. Treat yourself! Your colour for this month is blue.
Echoes from the past ring back into London. Their intensity increases until they are deafening. What once was a faded memory of a glorious time, now becomes a shocking reality. The consequences of actions taken decades ago ripple into the present, altering the lives of everybody in the City. Unguided and blind, Kindred wander around, trying to make profit out of the reigning chaos.

The appearance of four mysterious figures turned the city upside down. Mistrust and jealousy became the official currency of London. Serpents and fiends rise to power, misdirecting the blaming eyes of the Camarilla towards imaginary enemies. Only those with clear vision and the ability to trust each other strive, while the rest run towards a shallow grave.

You find yourself in London on a dreary, foggy night like any other. But what lurks in the shadows is the stuff of fantasies and nightmares, far from mortal reality.

Agustin sat in an empty warehouse in the dead of night. Cold. The building likely wasn't derelict, but the Lunatic had made sure it was well empty before he felt safe enough to do what he intended to do. He was staring at the brand new mobile phone in his hand, trying to find the courage needed to face a situation he didn't mean to create. Why did it hurt so much? Perhaps it was only the blood bond. Such a foolish thing to do in the heat of passion. But, then again... He felt like he failed before anything had ever started. Whatever it was meant to be. And he knew that was what hurt the most.

It had to be the blood bond. He had never felt this strongly about anything. Anyone. Good or bad. He shuddered to think what drinking more of her blood might have done to him. Tempting as it still is...

There were two phone numbers he made sure to memorize in his head. Sawyer was one. The other, though, was of concern tonight. It had been a few weeks since he was last in her presence. And a couple weeks more since he saw her with his own mismatched eyes. It just was not right how things turned out. There was a debt owed. Gratitude, at least. He had to make sure it was settled. Moving on, just letting it be, was not possible for him. That would be just another failure. He'd be even more the piece of shit he had long suspected himself to be. No, this had to be done.

He dialed the number... Slowly. If he were mortal still, his heart would be racing. There was a numbness filling him, though. A deep depression had crept into his soul. So many things, so very many things... Of all the things he wanted... Needed... What he longed for the most... He could not have. And this fleeting chance that the universe, or god/s, had dangled in front of him only proved that. It surely wasn't that he just wasn't ready, or that everyone makes mistakes... No, he simply did not deserve love.

A shaking hand lifted the phone up to an ear. He stuttered. "Hello... E-Emily?"

Emily honestly didn't really know what he was talking about as far as illegal Mexicans went. She hadn't grown up in the Southwestern United States and she had only spent a scarce amount of time in even New York. She had heard the talk obviously, but she didn't really know much about that whole deal or really understand it. So that went completely over her head. She did grimace when he said no more murdering people. That validated her previous suspicions that he may have violated the Masquerade. It was something he should never mention again to anyone because the consequences would be dire.

"Well that is definitely good," Emily stated in a kind of we shouldn't talk about that tone. Then the text message came through and she simply wiggled her nose at it. "It looks like we can totally have that dinner. Just let me know when, I don't have anything on my schedule."

Agustin wasn't worried that the triple homicide may have been a Masquerade violation. Yeah, there was some weirdness where some of the blood was found, but Agustin didn't actually take much from the hooligans when he fed. They died from the combined trauma of the wounds he inflicted and some blood loss. A couple pints a piece, maybe (which he promptly lost). One of them was actually put out of his misery by Jason. And other than misplaced blood, there was nothing really suspicious about it. It more than likely just looked like some London gang business gone badly.

So, yeah... Fuck the consequences...

"Great." He said cooly. "Tomorrow should be good, just meet me at the Muse around... say, ten o' clock?"

"Make it twenty three hundred and we can call it dinner," Emily said keenly tiptoeing around the word date. Because that was what she intended this not to be.

Err... Military time? Twenty-three hundred hours would be... "Eleven P.M. Great. See you then, love. Bye." He said and eventually clicked the phone off, unless Emily had more to say, for which he probably wouldn't have a response anyway. He almost said 'It's a date!' but had the better sense not to make a fool.

Agustin was fine now, for the most part, as he got up to his feet. A cold, dead expression on his face as he walked around touching crates and tools. The floor was concrete, but most of the rest was wood and other flammable materials. Other than steel support and tools. The building was rather old, actually. No security whatsoever. He pulled a silver zippo out of his pocket and flicked the flame alight carefully...

Hatred burns a darker flame.

Then he just left. Pyromania and arson are a big no-no when you're a vampire...
