"Papers, Please."

A few days after their meeting, Alarik had a ghoul deliver an unsigned draft agreement to George Henry Harris, the Brujah Primogen: GROVE WARD AGREEMENT The Prince of London and the London Primogen of Clan Brujah, desirous of reaching a mutual understanding and eager to expel the Sabbat from their Domain hereby undertake the following: 1. BRUJAH FIEF a. The Prince of London shall grant in fief to Clan Brujah the following territories: the Borough of Redbridge, the Borough of Newham and any territories taken by Clan Brujah from the Sabbat that lie beyond the River Rodding, excluding the Borough of Camden b. Clan Brujah will have exclusive feeding rights, the right to deny permanent settlement to those not of their blood and claim to control over the mortal businesses inside its fiefdom. c. The claims of Clan Brujah to Grove Ward remain unaltered by the terms of this agreement. 2. WAR SUBSIDY The Prince of London will support the reconquest of Sabbat territories with manpower and the sum of 50.000 Pounds Sterling for the use of purchasing War Materiel, further undertaking to grant a loan to cover any additional costs. 3. STABLE GOVERNANCE a. The Primogen of Clan Brujah undertakes to vote in favour of the Princes' policies and appointments in the Primogen Council, and to refrain from disloyal actions that would threaten the spirit or intent of the agreement between them, notwithstanding the right of any Primogen to speak his mind in Council before casting his vote. b. The Primogen of Clan Brujah may dissent from voting with the Prince if the matter at hand concerns Clan Brujah's vital interests or if the vote would be a flagrant violation of the Primogen of Clan Brujah's conscience. 4. DISPUTE RESOLUTION a. The agreement will be ratified and placed in the trust of the Grand Harpy of London. b. The Grand Harpy of London who is authorised to adjudicate in the event of any dispute regarding the interpretation of its terms. The parties agree to submit their views to the Grand Harpy and abide by her ruling on the matter. Rulings will be made in confidence. c. If the dispute concerns a vote, the parties agree to see the vote postponed until the Grand Harpy has had an opportunity to rule on the dispute. 5. STATUS OF AGREEMENT a. This agreement is undertaken between the offices of the Prince of London and the Primogen of Clan Brujah. The rights and obligations of this agreement will fall on whoever legally holds these offices at any given time. b. The terms of article 3 and 4 will not be disclosed to any outsider, with the exception of the Grand Harpy, who is expected to keep the agreement in confidence. c. Six months' advance notice by means of written notice to the Grand Harpy and the other party shall be required if either side wishes to forfeit the terms of the agreement after it has been ratified. |

"Papers, Please."
|
The night of the eighteenth saw the Prince of London pacing through the drawing room. His agenda was laid open on the desk with the large typewriter, revealing that it had been a full month since he'd sent his request to the Brujah Primogen. All the while, things had gone eerily silent in Camden, suggesting that the Sabbat had either killed each other or reunited, planning for something big. Either way, it was a poor time to be dawdling on legal formalities. There was a war to be won. On the other hand, he wasn't about to call George up to see if he had already considered his stupendously generous offer. The rules of politics were a bit like the rules of dating in that regards: one doesn't want to be seen as over-eager, even when one really is. |

Later the same night an envelope was delivered to the Blythe House containing the agreement signed by George as Primogen of the clan and Barney and Jane as witnesses for the clan. |
