Max was glad that he was allowed to stay in London. So now he would like to meet the other Brujah. George had given him their phone numbers. But unfortunately so far Max hadn't been able to contact anyone. Why didn't it work to contact Lucy and Toran? Were the numbers wrong? Or was there something wrong with their phones, or with his phone? He didn't understand that at all and cursed modern technology. Ronnie didn't answer the phone either. After a few times of ringing there was a voice that said that you could leave a message. Max left a message (although he hated that, talking into a phone if there was nobody at the other end), hoping that at least that had worked. Max was beginning to get into a bad mood. Maybe the next try would be successful? Roussol. Was that the first name or the surname, Max wondered and dialled the number. |

The fourth ring cut off mid-way as the call was answered. After a short pause the voice at the other end of the line spoke. Male, with a hint of surprise in his tone. "Yes?" Almost immediately he was promted to add something more. 'Yes' was, after all, not the most suitable greeting. "Hello." |

"Good evening, this is Max...do I speak to Roussol? George gave me your number." It was a relatively deep male voice with a German accent. Max wanted to make sure he was talking to the right person before saying more. |

A slight pause and a quiet noise in the background. Roussol sat up and swung his legs off the bed to sit properly. Alert now. "Roussol, yes." Max? He didn't recall a Max from the meetings. It didn't necessarily hold any significance, it was very likely that the Primogen had indeed given this Max his number - the phone was new and he had only given the number out once himself. "How many I assist you, Max?" The more he spoke, the clearer the accent became. Local-ish, with a slight twinge of something that was not. |

So it was the right number, good. "I'm new in London. And I very much would like to get to know the members of our family. I have met only George until now. So I was hoping you might be interested in meeting me." |

The idea of a meeting appealed greatly. Not that Roussol was much for social calls, but an excuse to leave the flat was welcome. He had done everything he had promised - kept himself out of trouble and out of sight, but he had to make some roads into getting himself known and trusted before he could approach the subject of presenting himself to the Prince. "Very well." Somewhere quiet where he wasn't likely to cause attention. "There is a bandstand in the centre of Clapham Common." The voice grew quieter for a moment as Roussol lowered his phone to check the time. "In an hour?" |

"In an hour would be fine. I'll be there. See you later." Max had been there already several times, for hunting. That park was notorious for men sneaking there in the dark to have quick sex with other men. He could have a quick snack there before or after the meeting. Where do we continue?

Ronnie replied to Max with a short message. Text to Max Ronnie thought for a moment if he should write "wish you and Jeremy the best". But maybe better not. So in any case Jeremy had his lover close now. Good for them. Ronnie took the SIM card out of his phone and threw it away. It was the beginning of May. Nobody in London needed to know where he was now. Max could tell George that Ronnie had left London. Ronnie didn't feel any need to tell George about it himself. "Thanks George, for making me a mugger." Ronnie has had no income in London. George had promised him work in a security firm, but it never came to that. Ronnie had asked a second time, but again it was just an empty promise. He had come to London with a camper van and a few hundred Euros, and finally he had to sell the camper van to have some cash. He left London poorer than before, with just a bag with clothes. He didn't even have money left for the journey back, so he had to sell his small gun for a low prize to some filthy little criminal...and mugg some businessman to get enough cash for bying a flight ticket to Vienna. That was the first time Ronnie had ever robbed anyone. Well, except stealing money from his mum, but that didn't count. It would have been too risky to travel all the way by train. Without a ghoul it was tricky on journeys to find something safe for sleeping during the daytime. With the campervan he could simply have slept inside the car. Ronnie was back in Vienna now, living in the commune of his Sire again. Strictly speaking Ronnie had never been a proper citizen of London, but just a guest, for months and months. How daft not to demand any payment for going artefact hunting with the Prince. So the Prince really thought a Thank you was enough? He could at least have said it's not necessary to get Sabbat heads any more for becoming citizen of London. Would have been a nice gesture, wouldn't it? (Then Ronnie would have taken part in the fight against the scum anyway, out of free will and not because it was some requirement.) One thing was certain: If he ever worked for a Ventrue again, then only for good payment. Advance payment. |
