Neonate

These past few days had been a real chore. First a presentation gone bad that might have ended with him dead in any other city, then a report that there was the possibility that a Tremere was running around burning stuff down, now he was going out with the only two clan members he knew to any degree in this city to enemy territory to solve the issue. Certainly this was interesting, possibly exciting but also time consuming. Xavier had a pressing matter of two signatures he needed to get, or he'd either be exiled from the city or killed. Now he was out trying to stop himself being made a scapegoat...and then killed. His options were going from bleak to blind in a swift descent that he was eager to rectify. Looking to his side at Ashley, Xavier didn't really know her. Wilke's ghoul, she answered the door first night Xavier arrived. Hard to get a read on her, he was sure he'd learn more as the night went on, not that it was entirely important. Then there was Morgan, bit of an obnoxious sort but what else would you expect with Eion's travelling companion. Actually lucky he had him around as Xavier was getting tired of paying for taxi's, the ghoul seemed all too eager to drive the rental car they'd hired. Shifting slightly in the leather seat, Xavier kept his attention out of the window as he kept his arms crossed against his stomach. With the silence in the car you'd think they were all teenagers being too angsty, in actuality they just had nothing to talk about. Tremere were not casual creatures, they could not talk about hobbies or the latest movies with ease. That was talk left for Brujah in their dive bars, the Tremere were refined, intelligent, cunning. In reality that just equalled out to boring in any scenario or situation where those traits couldn't be used. Not that everyone in the car was Kindred, in fact Xavier was the only one in the car. Explained why he was silent at least, he was just a buzzkill. They'd been given a severe lack of information on this whole incident, mostly being told the theory, the situation and then their job. The stakes were high and the price for failure steep, hence why they were heading toward the burnt out remains of a bar called The Tripper. While Eion and Wilke were heading to the morgue, they'd fit right in. Xavier smirked to himself at that thought before bringing himself back to reality to focus on the situation at hand, they were going for information. They were the more perceptive of the bunch he guessed, certainly felt better to cover all bases with whoever they had. Xavier didn't know how to rate their chances, right now there were some more things to consider. From what he'd read in the news, the police were in an ongoing investigation to determine the cause and possible motive behind the fire. They'd have to find a way to get back them to get a better look around the area, perhaps even talk to the police to get some information. They might be kine but they were good at being paranoid, this being London and with the state of the world he was sure there would be worries of possible terrorism. As the car purred along the road, closing in on it's destination, Xavier wondered what the others might be up to. He'd not heard the specifics of their plan but being dead they certainly had an easy way in. |

Belonging to Miss Catherine!
|
It had come as a surprise when Miss Catherine had told her to go along with Morgan and a Tremere she had briefly met. Xavier Hargreaves. Not much was to say about him for she hardly knew him and that was fine by her. Only thing that annoyed her was the fact that she had bad memories about sitting in a car with a Tremere. For a moment a shudder went down her body and she as well had her gaze aimed at the world beyond the car window. Not much had been shared about this investigation. An Anarch bar had gone up in flames and there were whispers that a Tremere was involved. Miss Catherine had been unpleasant about the fact... very unpleasant! The one who obviously got the most of that had been Ashley. Her young face looked tired and sad. Her green eyes were dull and there was redness in them that hinted to tears which had not long ago been shed. The Australian blonde was silent. There was no need for conversation. She was dressed in comfortable clothing and dark colours as they were going to a crime scene. Black sneakers, dark blue jeans and a black hooded shirt with long sleeves. Her hands were covered with black leather gloves. Her hair was up in knot. With her she had her purse, which hung from her left shoulder askew to rest on her right hip. In that bag she had her tablet, a camera and a notebook with a pencil besides from her usual stuff. When they nearly arrived Ashley grabbed her tablet and started reading through the various articles about this unfortunate event. Human eyes of course had a different view upon it as they don't know all the facts but still it was interesting to read. The young woman got out of the car and waited for the Tremere to take the lead while she took some quick pictures. You could still smell that burning scent. It was quite annoying but except for the small crinkles in her nose because she pulled it up a bit there was little sign of her discomfort about this entire night. Edited by Ashley Amber, Monday, 23.
