Key Figures
THE MONSTER OF EALING
Last night, several people reported the sighting of a "screaming red monster" in a quiet neighbourhood of Ealing. After a power shortage in the area, a building caught fire. It was then when, what was described as a "man shaped, footless creature" emerged from the flames, leaping, running, and screaming. One woman has told our reporters that the man had "teeth like a wolf, and the face of the devil". Police officers are still trying to get to the bottom of this; neither the power shortage nor the fire have still been explained. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard has stated that the "so called monster" might be a wounded person, escaping the fire.

TRAGEDY IN TOOLEY STREET
The police has found the bodies of three TFL workers in the construction site at Tooley Street. One of their colleagues raised the alarms last week, when the three workers didn't attend their shifts. The bodies of the men have been found in a deep hole, uncovered by the refurbishment works that are taking place in the area. According to the Police, the bodies were horribly mutilated, which has led to the wildest speculations. The names of the three workers are being kept anonymous, following the wishes of their families.

HOROSCOPE
MARCH 8 - PISCES
You are used to making sacrifices, to prioritising the happiness of others before yours. Even though that is a noble attitude, there are times in life where the only healthy alternative is to embrace your own selfishness and allow yourself some enjoyment. Reserve one hour per day to do something you really like. Treat yourself! Your colour for this month is blue.
Echoes from the past ring back into London. Their intensity increases until they are deafening. What once was a faded memory of a glorious time, now becomes a shocking reality. The consequences of actions taken decades ago ripple into the present, altering the lives of everybody in the City. Unguided and blind, Kindred wander around, trying to make profit out of the reigning chaos.

The appearance of four mysterious figures turned the city upside down. Mistrust and jealousy became the official currency of London. Serpents and fiends rise to power, misdirecting the blaming eyes of the Camarilla towards imaginary enemies. Only those with clear vision and the ability to trust each other strive, while the rest run towards a shallow grave.

Strange things have been going on in the Hither Green Cemetery in the Garden of Remembrance. South East London has been growing unquiet of late. Pets have been disappearing, as have homeless people. Officials have no explanation as to why. No bodies have been found and there has been no upsurge of crime reported to the police.

But there has been a surge in Urban Legends in the area. There are those who claim that the shadows of Hither Green Cemetery move at night. The Whovian slogan “count the shadows” has recently been spray painted across one of the external walls. Several old residents refer to a time during the Second World War; they claimed that those who hid within the cemetery during the blitz were never seen again. They called it “the bombing cloud” and said that when the city went dark for fear of the bombs, anyone in the park would never be seen again. Now those oldsters claim that the Bombing Cloud has returned, perhaps awoken by the recent terrorist activities in the city.

But the old folks in the local neighborhood have begun to refuse to leave their homes at night. Claiming the bombing cloud occurs only on the darkest nights, and that during the blitz bodies were found drained of blood, their hearts, lungs and organs eaten away by some horrible thing. Police have so far refused to investigate because there have been no official missing persons reported. They consider it mere local superstition.

Some muffled voices could be heard ahead, where Clarice thought the gate was. The distance wasn't yet allowing her to recognize the talkers, not to mention understanding what was being said there. She could only be sure there's at least one woman

Her aura was outshone by artificial light pointed more or less in direction of the three observers, leaving clear vision of her head and shoulders only. The dominant color was dark blue, with violet swirling structures and yellow sparks appearing here and there. Clearly a mentally ill person that took weird pleasure in balancing on the edge of danger. Something was also distressing her very recently and one might get the impression that she wouldn't elaborate

It wasn't long until Clarice finally arrived at the gate, putting her flashlight down and raising her eyes to have a better look at the teammates. The tall man sure had to be Mr. Keller. The two women... By her guess they could be taken for business partners, nearly identical outfits and all. It was pretty hard to tell more at such a dark night. Clarice rose her hand in a gesture of greeting and moved onto the lock which caught her attention almost immediately. While inspecting it with her universal lockpick, she spoke to her co-workers

There's something really weird about this place, like the presence of a Shadow Lord or so...

Max was glad that the rain wasn´t quite as heavy any more.
A figure in the graveyard was visible again, and it was approaching them.
Margo could see ghosts? A Toreador? That was unusual. And what she said about the ghosts in this graveyard sounded even more unusual.
Killed by being eaten. The Sabbat, possibly? These freaks did all sorts of pervert things.

Max greeted the woman who joined them.
"Good evening. You are Ms. Harris, I presume."

Hopefully. None of them had encountered her before, so hopefully it wasn´t somebody else. But who else could have known about this task? That was relatively improbable. But it could happen, theoretically. While the real Ms. Harris was laying staked in some cellar. So maybe it was best to watch out if she sabotaging their mission.

Seeing ghosts was unusual indeed, but Toreador were often quite perceptive, maybe that was just another use of their skills... And anyway, such a capability was surely useful in their case - although, from Margo's experssion, Franca couldn't help but think it must have been a pain as well.

"Are you also able to communicate with them, or to understand something more? - she asked Margo - I understand it's not a pleasant sight but we might be very close to the answer we are looking for".

Indeed, if the ghosts could talk, most likely they had the solution at hand. She had no idea how such phenomena worked, though, and she hoped Margo could enlighten them.

As for the fact they'd been eaten and in pain... Besides being disturbing, it could have meant everything and nothing. Yet another Sabbat cult? Necromancers? Some kind of Garou attack? Some other supernatural being?
Or even something escaped from the zoo, she thought, even though in that case the corpses wouldn't have been hidden.

Then the unknown person inside the graveyard reached the gate. Franca realized none of them could tell if that was really Ms. Harris. She didn't want to be too suspicious, but introducing each other in a safe place before the mission would have been a good idea. She took a mental note for the future.

Then since Max had talked first, she would wait for Ms. Harris to speak before she introduced herself.

The thunder continued to rumble like an angry beast, clouds hanging black and low over them like a looming disaster. The rain was a steady drizzle of fat wet drops, the kind to sap the heat from the best clothing and drive mortals inside shivering despite the warm summer night.

No more shapes appeared in the lightning flashes, no moving figures. The graveyard was a black place of broken lights and untended lawns. The pathways almost overgrown as the wet grass flattened.

The Chapel hunched under a thick covering of ivy and to Margo's eyes and ears it was surrounded by screaming ghosts, shambling half eaten mindless things that did nothing but stand, keen and claw at their own torn bodies. None looked sane enough to offer any particular advice, though she could approach one and test that, if she dared.

Margo again turned away from the graveyard and tried to shake her senses fully back onto this side of the veil. "Um..." Margo said, rubbing her head. "These spirits are just... mindless horrors. I can hear them and see them... but they are just... pain."

Margo glanced back over her shoulder to see if her senses were back in the realm of the quick.

The arrival of Harris from the cemetery was a welcome distraction. Margo gave her a little wave.

Okay... lets get this over with before I go insane... Margo thought.

Perhaps once they got to the chapel she would take another peek into ghost-world and see if there was a sane one. Perhaps.

Evening. Yes Mr. Keller
Clarice didn't rise her head until the lock was finally picked. Then she opened the gate with welcoming gesture, like their task was about as trivial as going to a picnic. But hey, what can go wrong in a group of four vampires? Sure it didn't look like she would get a whole shotgun shell blasted right in her chest again

Cold light was shed over the path, revealing it was made of dirt, little rocks, wild grass, random weeds and more grass. Who knows what it's like deeper into the graveyard. She wished it was possible to simply vanish from the sight, remain unseen by anything that may stalk the place, but her torch and raincoat made it completely impossible. And if there were some simple-minded beasts, it wouldn't affect them anyway

It's going to be like navigating between the ice floes...

It wouldn´t make much sense now to mention any doubts if this was really Ms. Harris. They best simply went ahead with the mission, and then they would see if she worked with or against them. Obviously she was good at lockpicking.
Max followed her inside after the gate was open. No need to take his own pocket lamp out, the lamp of the Malkavian was enough.

The chapel was hardly visible under all that ivy. Quite a shame that this graveyard was in such a state.
Max was glad that he couldn´t see those mindless spirits here. Sometimes it might be useful to be able to communicate with ghosts, but Max for sure wasn´t crazy for dealing with such creatures.

Franca looked hopefully at Margo, as she was trying to focus once more on the ghosts. "Uh, I see - she said eventually - well, it's much more than we expected anyway". Margo's ability was surprising and not something she could fully understand.

Then, as we know, Ms. Harris had appeared. When Max and the newcomer had greeted each other, she said "Hi, I am Franca, nice to meet you" with a little wave. The newcomer seemed to be more focused on the lock than on her mates, though.

And then they were walking inside, surrounded by those tortured spirits only Margo could see. It could have been spooky, even if you were an undead monster yourself... it wasn't the time to be impressed, though, nor to wonder how real their pain could still be.

As they were walking towards the chapel, she asked to her companions, speaking in a low voice: "Have any of you ever seen something similar?". She looked especially to Max, who, as a Sheriff and likely the most experienced of them, must have dealt with a good variety of dangers. "I won't jump to conclusions but by now I'll assume there is some... devouring... creature, that is also intelligent enough to hide its victims. A couple of things comes to mind, but none identical".

While speaking she didn't divert her attention from the surroundings, or what little she could see of them. She was relying on Clarice's light as well, although she kept her own lamp ready. Just in case.

Margo whimpered under her breath, then steeled her courage to step across the graveyard divide. She kept low, huddling over her LED-Maglite to focus its light downward, giving only indirect illumination for her to see by... she hoped to keep her vision night acclimated. While her body was huddled, her little head was poked up darting about like a big-eyed squirrel as they picked their way through the broken granite jungle.

With [Auspex: Heightened Senses] Margo tried to gather all that her senses could process, on a trigger pull for danger... or you know, things that eat people. Other then her.

Margo tried to keep a little to the side, so to not have her night acclimated vision overwhelmed by the other lights in use.

"I saw something similar in Germany" Margo whispered in reply to Franca. "It was a stone fortress, it was haunted inside." Margo shuddered at the memory "And there were lupines on the hunt as well. Like the place was a magnet for... nasty shit."

"Still, even though that fortress was haunted... it didn't have ghosts like this place... there are hundreds of them here. At least."

The ghosts of this graveyard don't seem to care for the vampires that walk among them. The mindless broken things simply stand in place and ignore them as they pass, but not everything does.

Sharpened ears can hear the faint panting of SOMETHING in the darkness, the whisk of grass being brushed aside as something moves through the grass. Sounds that seemed to come from several locations, though at the moment, not particularly close by. The rain and thunder make it hard to judge the distance of the sounds.

A flash of lightning shows another tall shadow standing by a gravestone, though perspective puts the head at nearly 6' above the ground... and something was odd about the sides of the head, they almost seemed to have pointed ears rising on either side. Perhaps it was batman? The shape vanishes again when the lightning flash is over.

Sharp eyes looking another direction would notice something decidedly odd. A hunched figure that looked almost like a bear, 4' high at the shoulder and nearly 6' in length, thick barrel bodied with pillar like legs and a head low to the ground that seemed a massive ball on the end of a hunched neck. So far the shapes seemed to be staying back, none looked to be approaching.

Something wasn't quite right, there was some weird, audible sensation tingling in Clarice's head. She stopped for a moment, willing to get rid of unnecessary sounds such as footsteps and rustling of her wear. Her mind generated a very blurry picture of their surroundings, with so many gaps she couldn't tell more than...

We're surrounded. By-

Before she could work out what kind of enemies they're about to face, another thunderbolt revealed something so bizarre it immediately put her vision into question. It would seem the cemetery is inhabited by bestial creatures, and yet there was some humanoid figure that stared at them, at least that's the creepy impression she's got. Her impulsive reaction was to reach for the dagger and get ready to defend herself. The thought of fighting some beasts was frightening, if anything gone wrong she couldn't even vanish in thin air. Not to mention fighting her inner beast at the same time

Let alone about the ghosts, Franca's senses couldn't detect anything relevant in the darkness, nor tell faint suspicious noises from the sound of thunder and pouring rain. So she was at first surprised when Clarice said they were surrounded.

She reached for her belt, anyway, ready to grasp a weapon.

Then, the thunderbolt. The tall, humanoid shape didn't need enhanced senses to be seen. Her hand went for the hammer - not that it would have been of much use, -if- her worst suspicions had been confirmed.

Silver weapons, anyone? she whispered to her companions.

Still, she hoped her suspicion was wrong. Because if there were actually lupines, and they were surrounded as Clarice had said, the situation was rather grim for the four of them.

Margo, having learned from fighting shape-shifters in Germany, now knew to look for bright aura's. Which she now did with [Auspex: Aura Perception]

Meanwile she muttered "I have a silver knife... but I really hope these aren't..."

Just in case she pulled the knife from its sheath and gripped it in her free hand. She took a step towards Keller... Margo thought that if they were going to be fighting shifters, the knife would be better served in his hands should he have no silver weapons of his own.

Which had an eerily familiar feeling to it...

When Franca asked if Max had seen something similar Max simply said "No". There hadn´t been a haunted graveyard like this in Dresden.

They were surrounded? According to the Malkavian. By whom?
Then there was suddenly a tall figure visible. Those ears certainly weren´t human. What kind of beast might that be?
Max didn´t notice any other creatures, but was on guard.

He took Margo´s silver knife, just in case. He hoped that it wasn´t werewolves. If it was then he would at least try to fight against them. But if it was more than one then his chances to win were low. He didn´t know that Ronnie had fought with this knife against a werewolf successfully.

What burst from the darkness came from behind them, near the gates of the graveyard. They were big, nearly six feet in length and almost four feet at the shoulders. The animals did indeed resemble wolves but their legs and stomachs were brown, their saddles were black and their jaws were thick and formed with heavy paws. They were enormous, and for those who managed to get a good look at them, they were also German shepherds. Huge ones. Nearly twice the size of a normal dog. They were also working as a team.

The animals lunged out of the black and snapped their huge jaws at Clarice and Franca as they rushed passed in a hit and run attack through the dark of the night. The beasts were unnaturally strong and thick of skin, emitting a foul odor like rotted milk.

The tall eared figure that was before the group suddenly raced forward at supernatural speed. When it burst into the light of Clarice's flashlight they could see it was a black speckled animal. It's shoulder was five feet off the ground, it's head over six. The animal was nearly six feet in length and must have weighed close to two hundred kilograms. An enormous great dane it's huge jaws snapped at Margo's face as it raced past and back into the darkness.

And from the side came a lumbering beast that raced in at Max. Barrel bodied with huge paws and thick pillar like legs the animal was nearly seven feet long and a solid five feet at the shoulder. It also weighed nearly two hundred kilograms and it's head was a massive solid affair with tremendous jaws. Like the dane it moved with supernatural swiftness as it snapped at Max's side and raced into the darkness. The tremendous bull mastiff had boils and blisters all along it's short furred skin and looked as though it's tail had been ripped from it's body at some point.

The dogs were eerily silent as they lunged in to attack and did their best to race back into the darkness once more. Their auras were blazing red and though slightly pale, normal for a beast or common animal. Lacking the vibrant glow of a shapeshifted werebeast.

Margo barely got to utter "Ghouls...!" before she had one biting at her. Margo had not completely handed her knife to Keller, her hand was still on the blade. She snatched it back and tried to roll away.

Having been concentrating on auras her reaction to the surprise attack was slow and she got a nasty chunk taken out of her shoulder... she winced in pain and grumbled. That shoulder was still tender from her childe's fanged attack a few days ago. Barely healed.

These puppies were strong!

"Fucking hell!" Margo swore. She reflexively went to grip the wound while she hissed out her pain. She burned blood to strengthen her muscles and give her the speed of the Toreador [Celerity]

Clarice suddenly got bitten in one of her arms, she felt the flesh being torn away and bone being scratched by massive fangs. It seemed the joint connecting arm to the shoulder was damaged, any attempt to move was quite painful and futile... She was probably lucky the arm was still there, and not torn off, carried away in the maw of whatever attacked her. There wasn't much time, the situation required rapid reaction. Restoring the muscle and fixing the joint would be perfectly sufficient for a while

As the beast jumped past her, it became clear it's a dog, except...it was size of a bear
Oхуеть! (Holy shit!)
A ghoul, that explains a lot and sharpens self-preservation instincts. Once an animal tastes human blood, it will always be thirsty for more. With vampiric vitae it was just a dozen times worse...

She tried to keep her flashlight up, hoping it would blind the dog. Its skull and ribcage must have been massive and thick, going for the brain or lungs seemed pointless. So the aim was throat and tendons in its legs. That requires getting a bit lower, crouching... So she did, keeping her dagger ready to slash as the beast leaps again

Franca was prepared for a worst-case scenario and ready to react to whatever was going to happen.

Ghouls? Ghouls were less bad than lupines, although they could be dangerous as well. They opened a whole new can of questions, too, but they would have consider those later. If they'd survived, that was.

She burned blood to enhance her own speed [Celerity] and, as the animal snapped its jaws at her, she tried to dodge on her right side with a rotary movement, trying to hit the ghoul's jaws with her hammer as she did that [Potence]. The axis of her motion was close to the beast's head, she would have said in another circumstance... at that moment, however, her thought was more along the lines of SMASH THAT SHIT AND RUN!!!.

Ghouls, Max heard Margo saying. And then he saw and felt one himself, a monstrous dog-ghoul.
That beast came so suddenly and with such a speed towards Max, that he didn´t have a chance to dodge or hit back. The silver knife wasn´t in his hand any more anyway.
Max cursed in German. The beast chomped a bit of flesh out of his side. In the coat was a big hole now exactly there where the beast had ripped a piece of meat out. His ribs were visible.
Max got his bigger dagger out and used blood to heal his wound and to activate his [Celerity].

The dogs dashed off into the night, as best they could. The exception being the German Shepherd that had gone for Franca. The beast yelped and flipped over onto it's side after a hammer blow smashed into it's neck and rolled it across the ground. The animal's [Fortitude] prevented the blow from doing to much damage, but the animal was limping as it rose to it's feet and lunged forward at supernatural speeds and jumped, biting at Franca's chest and throat with drool dripping fangs.

The great bull mastiff swallowed down the chunk of Max as it rumbled off into the darkness and came back for a second attack at the German's back, a snarl giving away it's position as it aims a bite for the back of the former soldier's legs, it's huge jaws fully prepared to tear away a limb if it managed to get a solid hold on him.

Clarice's dog meanwhile vanished into the night and for the moment, seems to have disappeared. The second German Shepherd did not immediately return.

More troubling was the huge Great Dane that took a piece of Margo. The animal whirled in place and snapped it's great jaws at Margo once again, aiming for her face and neck, though it had to crouch to do so. The beast was moving with celerity enhanced speed and nearly the size of a horse. The most graceful and fierce of the animals. It flashed two bites at the small Toreador and seemed determined to try and tear her head free of her body.
