Name of your MiniQuest: Shifting Shadows Number of available slots: 0/4 We are Officially Full. Margo, Clarissa, Franca & Max please report to the Cemetery. Skills required: Investigators & Combat rolls Level of danger involved: 3 to 5 out of 10. Does this contribute to the canon of the forum: It is a Canonical MiniQuest however it is DEEPLY unlikely anyone will actually die during the quest. Unless something really dumb is done. A brief description: Shifting Shadows is a search and overcome MiniQuest. The characters will have to track down the source of the disappearances, find the lair of the creature and remove it to prevent the Masquerade from being breached. Through his spy network the Seneschal Henderson has discovered this growing problem and requested a few brave souls to seek out the cause of the disturbances and bring it in for rehabilitation or destruction, whichever is required. |

That was a miscalculation on my part. Dogs normally hold 2 pints of blood in terms of a vampiric value (the less intelligent an animal is the less value their blood has. An entire cow only gives up to 5 blood points apparently) but since these are also significantly bigger than normal dogs I'm upping the amount they hold to 3 pints each vampiric value. Healing an injury takes 1 blood point (or pint, whichever way you prefer to think of it) and takes an entire round. So basically you could drain the dog, heal the injury and be back to full. So far MiniQuest Blood Use: Franca 0 (Celerity twice) (used 1 to heal, gained 3 - net blood use returned to Zero) Max 5 (Healed three injury, celerity four times, gained 1 pint of blood) Margo 5 (Pumped blood into strength 2 points, stamina 1 point, celerity 4 times gained 3 pint of blood healed one) Clarice 3 (healing three injuries) Edited by Obstacles, Wednesday, 6. Clarice used 1 point for Auspex (hearing) and so far 1 point to heal her arm, you could say to bruised level, only skin is still missing. Now that the dog is playing like she was a ragdoll, she can't yet heal the shoulder, I'll update this post as the course of action changes

Auspex Heightened Senses does not require blood to activate. In fact no Auspex under 6 requires blood use. |

I have NOT lost interest at all. But I did have a busy weekend. I was unaware of any formal post order, not that it matters much. I will be posting to Shifting Shadows today. |

I was waiting for Margo because I thought the post might inspire me a bit. At the moment I can´t think of much to write. I didn´t have the impression there was some strict post order. At the beginning I was several times the last one to post. |

For reference the lid on the mouth of the tunnel is too heavy for Clarice to lift, even pumping blood. She'll need someone with Potence to shift the stone for her. |

I'm going to point out that you guys are in an enclosed space, where you are (theoretically) trapped, and flame is spewing from what you are inclined to think might well be your only exit. A flame that billows progressively deeper into the chamber with each pump while a madman cackles away. For all you know at some point soon the flame is going explode so deeply into the room to fill the area. I'm not going to tell you how to run your characters. But fear of fire is an instinctual frenzy trigger for all vampires. Brujah in particular have a hard time resisting frenzy, that is their clan flaw. So if you're unsure how badly you should be reacting to this moment in the story please ask the Moderators for feedback. I don't intend to kill anyone with this trap and obviously the fire cannot be maintained indefinitely, so at some point it's going to end and give you options. But at this moment in time this should be an earth shakingly terrifying moment. |

In my post, considering what Margo was doing in hers, I assumed I 'woke up' once the flames were over, confused but having missed that part of the scare. If the flames weren't supposed to stop in these scene I am probably still staked... |

I take that this is mostly for Brujah, their +2 difficulty penalty and Max who didn't really react to the fire... Clarice has fairly high self-control worked over years of receiving various kinds of damage + decent courage rating. I think I will edit to shed some light on her beast-like moves, though she wouldn't give it to the beast completely until the flame bursts right over her head |

But does that +2 also apply to Rotschreck rolls? I thought it´s just for frenzy rolls. Brujah get angry more easily than kindred of other clans, but if they also get afraid of fire more easily than others, then they would be quite anxious and cowardly. We can´t have that. ![]() Max has self-control 4 and courage 5, so he wouldn´t get anxious very easily. In my opinion Max wouldn´t get into a panic yet. And he´s not "not reacting", he moves away from the tunnel. |

Hey my darlings. Popping in here to clear up some misunderstandings. Even if you have crazy good courage, that just means you can avoid frenzying. Fire is still fucking terrifying, even when you have a handle on yourself. It is a base phobia that every Kindred has. It is the antithesis of your being, the answer to the danger you represent, and second only to sunlight in its panic inducing qualities. People frenzy over an excess of candles. There is uncontrolled fire near you. Play it up! Good edit Orissa. More fear please, Max, you are correct that your clan flaw doesn't apply here but just moving away is still too slight a response. Terror terror terror. Sometimes fear... Edit: Courage technically the stat used to resist the Red Fear. Edited by Jane Marlow, Monday, 8. September 2014, 22:45.
