Leo listened to Keller, still walking down the street. Why the bloody hell should some Anarch bitch complain to the Prince? He didn't give a fuck, about "troublemaker" he was called worse in his unlife. I will go there, sure... and I guess, I did, what our deal was about, didn't I? He was pissed, this Chip got away, not because of the job... because of the feeling of an unsuccessful hunt. Nothing bothered him more, than the strong hunch, to have failed on the last bit. The Gangrel growled and shook his head. First of all, he wanted back to Hounslow, calming down. Heading for Blythe House right now would be a bad idea, he was far too upset about all this shit. He had the slight impression, it could be better to have the beast calm enough, when returning to the Prince. His dark eyes were gleaming in anger, while he waited for Kellers confirmation about the deal. Hopefully no poor stupid would try to hold him up now for some bucks. The guy would be sorry for the rest of the few moments of his life. |

"Yes, you did. I just hope there won´t be further tasks." If the Gangrel didn´t seem to want to say or ask anything else Max would end the conversation and say good bye. Max felt uncomfortable about this whole matter. He thought that it was relatively unlikely that he got the job. Max shouldn´t have been so keen on getting this job. It hadn´t been explicitly forbidden to work together, but surely it wasn´t supposed to have been done like this. This was supposed to be a contest and not teamwork. Couldn´t that even be seen as undermining the contest? Why didn´t he simply forget about the job. Especially after that failure in Enfield. That might disqualify them both. Or should he really lie about this if the Prince wanted to know details? Lying would be worse than telling the truth, if the truth came out later some other way. And Max hated it to lie anyway. He was angry at himself. He had got himself into trouble, needlessly. The Prince might look down on him then. And additionally, the Gangrel might be angry at Max if he told the Prince the truth about all this. Max better shouldn´t have applied for that damn job. He was quite grumpy, and that he had to use the tube didn´t help. He hated to use public transport. Continues here:

When the call with Keller ended, Leo called Big to pick him up. Big knew well, what it meant, when his friend sounded, like he did... it meant 'handle with care', or be sorry. Finally the Ghoul reached his Domitor and brought him back to the mechanics shop. There Leo first fed on his friend, he needed the blood, he had to heal his bones earlier tonight and so far there was no time to hunt. His beast withing calmed down a bit and he explained Big, where to find the "Bad Company" the next day. He also gave him orders, how to act, if Leo wouldn't return from Blythe House, which was rather possible. Big was angry, told him, not to go there, if he thought to die. Leo just cut his complaints with a single strict gesture. Shut up, you don't understand these things, just Keep your head low, when I'm not back after maybe a week. Then Leo took one of the bikes standing in front of the mechanics shop and drove back to Blythe House. |
