"Fidel, right?" Oliver nodded, wondering if Domina would reply or not. A not would suggest to proceed as usual. That she was probably busy. "That's right," he said, knowing that Dr. Adler had implanted his name in the kine's mind, and the order to call him should he ever begin to remember the events of this night. "Man ...I must have put on quite a show..." Oliver shrugged. "Not really. Got you out before you could," he said, his tone reassuring. "We were sitting at the bar, just having a drink... talking," he added casually. The wonders of Domiante never ceased to amaze the ghoul. How many things that he'd been made to forget, like this, and what he wouldn't give to have a peek at the journal that Stăpână kept. One day... perhaps, he reflected with a tinge of uncertainty. He was not exactly an exemplary ghoul, though he did his best to be, and knew that Domina expected perfection. She was grooming him for the Embrace, but her patience would not be endless, surely... "Only if it's not out of your way," "Not at all," he replied, and invited him to walk with him to the sidewalk. He'd parked close to the club, but made a point not to look in that direction when guiding Michael to his bike. Untying the help from the seat, he put it on and offered the other an apologizing look. "Sorry, only have one," he said, getting on and pulling the keys from his pocket to start the motor. "Get on," he invited with a tilt of his head. "I'll take the back roads as much as possible, less cops there." And, should Michael get on the motorcycle, Oliver would drive him home. He didn't go too fast, but didn't waste time either. When they arrived as said location, Oliver remained on his bike and smiled. "Got one of those cards for me?" he asked, with an open palm. He wanted to be able to find the kine. One never knew. "Not really. Got you out before you could," "We were sitting at the bar, just having a drink... talking," Michael frowns for a moment, clearly searching his memory and finding nothing. Lifting a hand, he rubs his head. "Thanks," he sounds like he really means that. "That kind of thing doesn't usually happen..." He gives his head a shake, "Never happened before." Another laugh, still more uneasy than amused. At word his place isn't out of Fidel's way, Michael nods and rises, walking with him to the curb. There's a moment of surprise on his face that the guy has a bike instead of a car, but soon enough he's smiling. "Been a while since I was last on one," he sounds like he's looking forward to the trip though. He waves off the apology for no helmet, not looking worried about it at all. He gets on behind Fidel, hands going to the gripbar behind him instead of around the waist of... whatever Fidel is to him. Stranger? Just someone who saw me tipping over off a barstool? Potential customer? The blank spot in his memory is disturbing, and he worries at it like his tongue would a sore tooth. He's a good passenger, clearly having ridden behind someone on a bike before. He leans into the curves instead of fighting against them, trusting Fidel to keep control of the motorcycle. When they arrive, he dismounts. "Thanks. Much faster than walking," he smiles. The request for a card gives him pause -- So Fidel's seen them. Did he see me giving one to someone? He looks at the ghoul for a long moment, struggling to remember. Then he replies. "Yeah, sure." He pulls out his wallet, and a cell phone as well. He produces a card from his wallet, offering it over, and working his phone with his other hand. "Can I get your number, too?" He gives him a smile, "I owe you at least a drink for tonight." Edited by Michael, Sunday, 19. October 2014, 03:45.

Oliver acted naturally the entire time, so relieved to be out of the locked-down Kindred infested Club, but also taking his duty very much at heart. He was assisting in keeping the Masquerade safe, and this in itself was an honor for the Ventrue - and more importantly, Blücher - ghoul. An impossible chance to act as an Operative after all the mistakes that he'd made. A chance, perhaps, to win back some of his Domina's esteem. And so Oliver showed himself quite polite and helpful with the kine. "That kind of thing doesn't usually happen..." "Oh well, I've had that once... Doc said that it happens sometimes, you know... You're tired, don't eat enough, or the wrong thing, move too much, and yeah... you dehydrate." "Been a while since I was last on one." A friendly chuckle. "Thanks. Much faster than walking," "No problem at all. It was on my way," he lied with another smile. "Can I get your number, too?" Oliver then thanked him for the card, pocketing it and, nodding to the question, he gave Michael his cell number. "I owe you at least a drink for tonight." Yeah, right, don't think so. "Sure," he nevertheless replied, his deep voice pleasant and calm. "Take care, and if I were you, I wouldn't talk about any of that to anyone. People look at you weird after," he added with a knowing wink, feeling his phone vibrating... He pulled it out and checked it while the other was replying... @mothership --> @watchdog: Why were you left with 'the carrot'? @watchdog --> @mothership: I didn't ask, Stăpână. Transported carrot in its garden now. May I return to base? @mothership --> @watchdog: If cleared by Adler, yes. Prepare a report for me to read later. @watchdog --> @mothership: Yes, Domina |

"Oh well, I've had that once... Doc said that it happens sometimes, you know... You're tired, don't eat enough, or the wrong thing, move too much, and yeah... you dehydrate." "Yeah..." the word comes slowly, drawn out, as he considers that. When he speaks again, it's at a more normal pace, "That makes sense. I don't remember drinking anything since... yesterday?" He grimaces at himself. When given the phone number, he keys it in with ease, listing only Fidel as the name. He looks up once done, slipping the iPhone away. . "Sure," "Take care, and if I were you, I wouldn't talk about any of that to anyone. People look at you weird after, That's... an odd thing to say. Right? Isn't it? Or is my head still messed up? He makes a conscious effort to check himself for thirst, but feels fine now. But he can't very well stand there on the sidewalk looking puzzled, that would look weird. "Yeah, I've looked weird enough for a while," he agrees. But Fidel said he hadn't looked weird, he got him out of the club before there was anything to see... He's going to give himself a headache thinking about this. He lifts his hand in farewell as he turns to head into his building. "Thanks again! Give me a call when you want that drink." "Thanks again! Give me a call when you want that drink." "Will do. Good night, Michael." When all was said and done, the ghoul watched the kine retreat to its habitat, and reflected that he was much like a carrot. Fresh now, he would get older, and eventually decompose - and perhaps in between, he'd be used to feed a higher race. Tonight, he'd been lucky - or so he would think. Oliver would never give up his own fate for anything in this world. Not even freedom could compete with the potency of his Domina's Vitae and what it offered. And what was freedom worth, when one was denied a place at the front lines, unable to protect one's family? The war ever raged on. But this carrot was safe, tonight, and the Masquerade, intact. For some strange reason, Oliver waited until Michael had gone inside, before leaving. He didn't think that he was beginning to care for kine, as this would be impossible - but maybe, just maybe, was he was beginning to understand Stăpână a little bit more... Guide and control. The ghoul had a lot to think about as he made his way home; there was still a report to write, and the Haven to prepare for his Stăpână's rest. And he yet needed to have dinner, as he'd had a late lunch. But it was with a small measure of satisfaction, and a feeling of accomplishment, that he rode back to Hammersmith. Perhaps he'd make it after all. Edited by Oliver, Sunday, 19. October 2014, 06:00.

Lynx watched the events unfold but things seemed to be well in hand. He went back to washing his bar down with his rag and nodded, glad that the mortal had been dealt with. He resolved to ask Dr Adler if she knew how he could get in touch with the Tremere. He'd heard that you could have wards cast over a place to keep mortals from paying attention to it. Might be worth negotiate some kind of payment to get something like that cast over the Club. Make it a truly safe area for the vampires who used it. That'd be preferable to incidents like this. Now that things were settling down he had to figure out a way to keep things from happening again. |

Janette was confident the situation was handled. And she was curious about this Hospitality Club. Also, she thought the proprietor might have some questions or concerns, so she made her way back up the street. Her orderly had gone to wait in the van and listen to the radio. The good doctor re-entered the club and looked around for Lynx, quirking her head and blinking around. "Hello? Mr. O'Rourke was it?" |

Lynx had returned to polishing his bar with a white rag and was focused on cleaning the counter down, removing the rings from the beers that had been drunk. His green eyes were focused on his task when he heard the door chime go off again and he raised his head, turning to face Dr Adler as she returned. The pink scar stood out as it traveled down the left side of his face from temple to jaw. He looked the woman over and considered what she had done for him. "That's be. Thank ye fer taking care of Michael fer us. I didn't want te have te kill the lad fer wandering inte the wrong place. So I'm glad ye were able te work things te make that unnecessary." His Irish brogue was a bit on the thick side at the moment as he considered himself. He had thought about killing Michael. Taking him down into the basement, biting him and draining him dry to get rid of the problem. He knew the blood would have been incredible. A wave of sickening guilt washed through him as he realized how easy it would be to slip into a killer mentality now that he was a vampire himself. One easy answer at a time and slide down into a pit to become a monster. It wasn't a fate he wished on himself. But he was woolgathering. He shook himself and focused his attention back on Dr Adler. |
