The Times
The Kindred Chronicle
Key Figures
THE MONSTER OF EALING
Last night, several people reported the sighting of a "screaming red monster" in a quiet neighbourhood of Ealing. After a power shortage in the area, a building caught fire. It was then when, what was described as a "man shaped, footless creature" emerged from the flames, leaping, running, and screaming. One woman has told our reporters that the man had "teeth like a wolf, and the face of the devil". Police officers are still trying to get to the bottom of this; neither the power shortage nor the fire have still been explained. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard has stated that the "so called monster" might be a wounded person, escaping the fire.

TRAGEDY IN TOOLEY STREET
The police has found the bodies of three TFL workers in the construction site at Tooley Street. One of their colleagues raised the alarms last week, when the three workers didn't attend their shifts. The bodies of the men have been found in a deep hole, uncovered by the refurbishment works that are taking place in the area. According to the Police, the bodies were horribly mutilated, which has led to the wildest speculations. The names of the three workers are being kept anonymous, following the wishes of their families.

HOROSCOPE
MARCH 8 - PISCES
You are used to making sacrifices, to prioritising the happiness of others before yours. Even though that is a noble attitude, there are times in life where the only healthy alternative is to embrace your own selfishness and allow yourself some enjoyment. Reserve one hour per day to do something you really like. Treat yourself! Your colour for this month is blue.
Echoes from the past ring back into London. Their intensity increases until they are deafening. What once was a faded memory of a glorious time, now becomes a shocking reality. The consequences of actions taken decades ago ripple into the present, altering the lives of everybody in the City. Unguided and blind, Kindred wander around, trying to make profit out of the reigning chaos.

The appearance of four mysterious figures turned the city upside down. Mistrust and jealousy became the official currency of London. Serpents and fiends rise to power, misdirecting the blaming eyes of the Camarilla towards imaginary enemies. Only those with clear vision and the ability to trust each other strive, while the rest run towards a shallow grave.

After the girls outburst, he could feel it in his heart that he needed to stop playing games with her. She had a strong allure about her that really made him not want to hurt her. It was more than just her resemblance to his sire, or the kindred spirits of broken hearts, or the apparent age they might have shared. How long ago was it that she was threatened to die by fire? It made him feel she was young, and it made him feel terrible for making her remember that pain.

"I'm sorry, about bringing you that memory."

He was not going to go on an argue his point why he felt the sects were stupid. That conversation ran it's course. He did feel he could slide in one more sneaky question, but past that he wanted to befriend the gangrel. It appeared she didn't give two shits about what team you played for, as long as you were a genuine person.

He however, was going to make sure his next statement was as non suspicious as possible. He didn't exaggerate his speech or make flowery use of his body language. He just asked as sincerely as possible while looking in the girls eyes. Perhaps she could read his genuine nature, or the if she was adept enough, read his phishing scheme.

"I wont speak any further of the matter past my next question. I do admire you and I do feel that we can find a trusting friendship between us. I can't run around all loosey goosey on my own though." He gave her a lightly amused grin if she found his terminology funny. "Can I at least meet the Baron and pay my respects? My fate at this point is not set in stone, and I just want to do right by someone. Besides my music, I have a joy for helping out whenever my talents allow me."

~IF~ her face twisted at his question, he'd quickly add on top of it. "But if you feel meeting him, or her, is bad.. then I understand; and I will drop it."

Awkward. That was how she felt. The entire moment seemed to sigh and crack under their awkward conversation. She wanted to trust him but she was scared as well. He was a Kindred seeking a way into the Camarilla rankings but then why was he here. It felt pushy about the Baron. She had learned many things from Emily and one thing was to be careful when too many questions were asked.

"Memories come and go but they never fade. When you are young it has more effect than if it would happen now even though it has only been a few years."

His eyes captured her gaze and held her entire stare. It was almost magic. Oh gosh... she had to shake the feeling from earlier off. Damn Toreadors and their mind magic. Still she smiled and tried to keep her emotions as calm. He had ways to look inside her. Auspex. How it exactly worked was beyond her but she knew they could see more than her. A bit like how she could see perfectly in the dark.

"I can pass on messages but unless you are clear where your mind and heart is you won't be meeting anyone. Or maybe you have been talking to the right person all along. Secrets is what keeps us alive my dear Davvad."

The girl turned on her side and laid against him with her head on his shoulder. From a distance they must have seemed like a loving couple finally settling down after an argument. Her mind was recreating every possible question he could pose and answer she could give him. Could she trust him? He was a Cam and he had just giving her false emotions. It was confusing her. Softly she purred while her fingers drew circles on his leg.

He brought a hand up to scratch lightly at his scalp through the silky strands of his hair. He knew the brick wall was reached and he was not going to get through it with his silly inflatable tube hammer he was strapped with. He'd have to just build a report from his gut feelings on the matter with the gangrel. There was no way she was the Baron of this territory. And while he was unfamiliar with customs in London, he was sure the Baron, if there was one, would want to speak to any neonates in his domain; even possible spies he can 'deal with'.

He wrapped an arm around the girls shoulder as she nestled against him, his hand grasping lightly at her upper arm as she found herself some comfort. Despite all his fooling about and perhaps overly obvious information digging, the girl seemed to enjoy his presence. It could not be from the awe from earlier. His hand lightly rubbed up and down along her arm as his thoughts danced. Was she insecure? Did her missing love make her cling to him because he also lost someone? Did she really trust his words? Was she scouting him out instead?

Overall, he felt relaxed by her body near his own. Furthermore, despite all their chatting and mild conflict in interests, no one in this little Anarch hang out gave two craps about the new face hanging out on the couch with Leslie. There was a myriad of reasons that could have been. He chose to pick the most optimistic reason. There was no threat here in the North. Henry Dawson was a rogue element. Still. He'd have to try one more gamble with the Anarchs before he'd speak to the Prince. Perhaps a show or another trip to the Dream.

A long quiet between them had to of taken place while they relaxed.

"I think my mind is made up, and at ease. With some awareness now, I should be able to keep my mind convinced you're not a lost face in time. Just, don't ever wear green contacts. Keep comfort in your sweet and soft brown eyes. Perhaps on our next little date I wont weigh our enjoyment down with the past."

The silence that ended their previous storm was very welcome. It soothed her mind and her Beast. She hadn't expected this sort of roller coaster ride when Davvad had suggested to meet him. Leslie had thought it would have been something more relax. A nice chat and laughter but not this intense. It had been odd from the start he had wanted to meet here.

Especially now that she knew he wasn't really an Anarch. He was a Cam or something like that. A status he was still trying to achieve and so him being here and asking all those questions felt rather strange to her. For nearly a year she had lived together with an OCD Malkavian who had an MI7 background and was the Scourge of the city so Leslie had picked up a thing or two about being suspicious.

Lying against him all cuddled up felt right and comfortable. It was at least much better than kissing wildly for no apparent reason... sort of. And she didn't like to be unkind in her words. She had showed quite a few sides of herself this night. While she pondered she smiled which Davvad couldn't see the way she was snuggling against him but he might feel and hear her purring slightly getting more intense. His touch on her arm felt familiar. So her happiness was mixed with sad memories but they didn't take over. They just lingered on the surface of her mind.

"Don't worry I like my eyes the way they are and next time I'll go for something more me." she giggled and looked up at him. "This was a... date?" she asked blinking owlishly.

His mood did not shift much as they cuddled. He found a contentment he had not experienced in several moons. He pushed his mission from his mind and just enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the little club he found himself in. If the Anarchs were any sort of 'bad guys', then this club was where all the docile ones avoided the nest of problems. Upon hearing the far to young looking girl inquire about the status of their evening, he could not help but let out a laugh. A look on his face of genuine amusement.

Composing himself he gave the girl a light squeeze, a half hug as it were. "A date does not have to mean romance, or efforts to get into your pretty dress. It can be a pleasing and memorable experience that brings a smile to your face. That is the idea of a date. To feel comfortable and have a good time. Next time, I'll take you to an arcade. Nothing is more memorable for fun then feeling like a kid when you're all grown out."

He gave her a light smile, wondering if such a childish idea appealed to her, and if his less than suave idea of a 'date' flew with her.

The young one laughed when he explained his version of how a date was supposed to be. Not always romantic says the guy who had just practically ripped her clothes off. Ah well, everyone had a different view about things but she surely had imagined that a Toreador would have a very poetic thought and feeling about a date. Nonetheless he was a wonderful guy to be with. She felt safe and warm in his caring arms but she suspected that was mostly because she was in her own safe haven.

This was Anarch territory. Under this roof she had been all night trying to master how to change in her fight and flight form. This was also where she had first met Lynx. The cute and impishly clumsy ghoul... well vampire by now and on his way to discover the world of darkness from his own perspective. The club was also where she had met the small Japanese girl Yuki. How she missed that freaky little thing with her strange mind.

Davvad was the stranger here and she knew he was already being registered by some of the local customers. His face wouldn't leave the building when he would go this evening and neither would his name. The Anarchs here weren't that stupid that they wouldn't take notice of the wannabe Cam. Leslie herself would let some critters follow him around town and see what they can find out about him. Animals were the greatest allies and the best spies.

"An arcade sounds wonderful! That would be lovely. You know you can call me anytime you like about anything you want." She chuckled softly. "I hope I never grow out of remembering how to be kid."

Deep down he would have found comfort in knowing so many people were watching him. Even if it were Anarchs thinking he was nothing but trouble. More people looking out for you increased your odds of survival, even if you were a filthy cape. But it had been clear he didn't know how focused in he was by the rabble here. And he certainly failed time and time again to realize the sort of game he was a pawn of.

No matter what would happen. Davvad could feel he'd want nothing more than to keep the string of contact between him and Leslie straight, with a few wobbles when you flicked it with a finger. It was more than just her reminding him of his sire. She had a carefree spirit and a fun loving nature about her that reminded him of a few kindred back home. She was not straight faced, down to business, let's kick some ass! He admired that.

"With how technology and entertainment has flourished around us, the kine act like kids well into old age it seems. Being young and vibrant will always remain in your interests. I don't think you can forget how to be a kid. You can only find yourself no longer to be human. That... is something I never want to have happen."

The Gangrel's mind was already spinning with what animals she could have Davvad tracked. Birds were a must and rats as well. She loved using them and talking to them. They know so much. It was a pity that most vampires hardly realised the potential of such animals. As a Gangrel or any other vampire with Animalism there were so many possibilities if only you tried to see them and use them in a good way. Leslie believed that if you respected the animals you would get respect in return and then they were great allies to have.

"I think that is correct. Especially because we, well I think you as well, were born and raised while technology had it's baby steps. Any Kindred older than us will probably struggle more with holding on to such human things. Maybe in a hundred years we will be the same depending on how the future will evolve."

It was lovely to be with him and even though they were both two cold bodies she could feel a warming glow spread through her body and non beating heart. He was right earlier. A date didn't need to be flooded by romance and lovey dovey moments. It just needed to bring a smile and a nice memory to your mind. And right now that moment felt like a perfect success on that part.

"So what does mister Davvad, the half Cam, half Anarch think about the London society and the evil that lurks in the shadows?" she wondered who and what he already had encountered to be so doubtful about his status and being either Camarilla or Anarch.

He was not so amused by the little title she gave him. It made him feel awkward and out of place. The whole deception thing to achieve your goals was a lot easier with humans. When you hear a cute, friendly and relatively warm kindred call you out in your duties, it hits home. He was mindful of everything he was learning form this experience. He felt it was possible the Prince sent him on this mission to A. Get info. B. See if he'd make it out without a problem. C. Develop much needed experiences.

But pushed all of that out of his head. Just go with it and be genuine with her. "I dislike it. I'd be happier just playing music, having something to do that's helpful when not playing music, and be with people I enjoy talking with. The evil that lurks in the shadows.. I never wish to be it, and I hope to never find myself latched in it's claws." He gave a sigh-but-his voice quickly picked up, giving the girl a grin.

"No more talks about that, please. Let's just relax and get to know each other. Once I get past my head trauma of how stunningly beautiful you are, I can instead just enjoy being with you, and not have my mind only think of your pretty face. Our characters is what makes us close and creates a bond, not outwards appearances."

He was using all that strange colorful language to try and tell her 'I like you, and want to like you for more than just your body; especially since sex is relatively pointless to us and having a friend is more important.'

He hoped it went over well.

It probably did, as the two would sit and giggle, laugh, show angst, pout, laugh some more for a few hours before parting ways. Dav would leave feeling he had a friend for life, if he didn't end up learning his mission was to ultimately damn her. He'd hate that, and would avoid it. She was the friendliest face he met in a long time.

Leslie felt a warmth and a possible friendship with a person she could call during her high and low periods of the nights. Granted, her suspicions of him were still a little high, and she'd certainly keep an eye upon the trouble making rose.

He was certainly hoping he'd not get into any more trouble.

Leslie left after he would. She made her way to a nearby park and called upon the animals that would hear her call. The little mini fur and feather unit listened in their own way of understanding the instructions of the gangrel teen as she bid them to follow the rose. She liked him, but was suspicious. She wanted to know which of those two emotions she had to feed. With her critters in the night, she'd figure it out.
