| Welcome To The Night You find yourself in London on a dreary, foggy night like any other. But what lurks in the shadows is the stuff of fantasies and nightmares, far from mortal reality. This game uses the cursed and immortal vampiric condition as a backdrop to explore themes of morality, depravity, the human condition, salvation, and personal horror. We are a writing and roleplaying community dedicated to telling complex and engaging stories. Your fate is your own. Mingle among the ivory-tower elite in the Camarilla, join the fight of the discontented and chaotic Anarch rabble, or set out independently and attempt to survive in London's nighttime underworld. FROM: Archon Wenckheim's office TO: Prince Henderson's office RE: The Ventrue Revolt Dear Prince Henderson, I write you on behalf of Archon von Wenckheim (who is not me, and who is not writing this email as we speak). He (not me) instructed me (not him) to communicate with you, and let you know that he (not me) received some note from your Ventrue Primogen, regarding some Ventrue delinquency in your Domain. The whole issue is, in his own words, "revolting" -thus, the Subject of this email; "Revolt", as in "revolting", get it?. Extensive interrogation of the Ventrue Oliver Bordea had already shed light over the illegal Embrace of that Kai individual, the complicity of Miss Alessandra Carter in that whole affair, and your own involvement in the matter. The Primogen Marcus Antonio Russo has certainly behaved in a very kind way towards you; a more ambitious and reckless man would have fully overstepped your authority, assuming that your leniency towards the Ventrue trio -let's call them the Ventriplet, for the time being- was a treacherous action. Of course, such attitude would have cost him his title and probably his head, but that's beyond obvious. The fact is that he has shown a great deal of respect for you, and a great deal of consideration towards the softness of my heart. Fear not, sweet Prince; I was fully aware of this whole affair, and I was willing to let it pass. A great leader needs to know how to be tough, but he also needs to know how to be soft at times. I am convinced that you are that leader; knowing how to set the fear of the Gods in the hearts of the Ventriplet (believe me: extracting that information out of Bordea's pulsating brain was not a child's play!), while finding a solution that keeps them all alive, productive, and respectful towards your authority. I do believe you are that leader. And so does the Archon. Who is, obviously, not me. Mister Russo's actions are commendable, but we are not going to commend them. As long as he knows how to keep his mouth shut about this whole affair, he is not going to suffer. However, there is the issue of Miss Alessandra Carter. If the Archon's information is right, she was clearly instructed to keep this whole thing a secret. However, she couldn't resist herself, and talked quite too much with her Primogen. That means that she has no respect for the authority of the Prince and, as I've been led to understand, for the Archon's own position either. Which makes him (and me) wonder: are you sure this Miss Carter is a Ventrue? As far as I know, she could be a Caitiff posing as Ventrue, uneducated, wild, ignorant, and too proud for her own good. The possibility of this Miss Carter being another sex slave of the Satanist Alarik Blucher, a poor illiterate creature that, once her Master is gone, stops acting rationally, has also crossed both my mind and the Archon's. The Archon has instructed me to let you know that he would very much like your people to send said Miss Carter here, to Düsseldorf, for further interrogation. It would be most advisable to avoid any contact with the Ventriplet survivor, and to keep her in her current paralyzed state. The Archon would not be happy if the delinquent child had been anyhow prepared for this interview. He (not me, although... also me) sends his best wishes. Kind regards, NOT Archon von Wenckheim |
