Putting the newspaper down, George picked up the receiver, wondering who called this time and what kind of stuff it might be... "Good evening, how can I help you ?" |

The answer brought an instinctive smile in the Rose. It served no practical function, but it was there. She had asked Vince for a secure, Masquerade-friendly line to reach the Sheriff with, and she hoped that this was it. The man on the other line did not seem like a secretary, and while precaution was always wise, it would be uncouth of her if she were to be vague on purpose. "Good evening. This is Neonate Francesca Istrati, calling from the Muse. We have recently encountered a fellow Neonate at our doorstep: Robyne Sheridan, who has expressed concern regarding a number of murdered kine. She suspects that these crimes have been perpetuated by devil-worshipers who possess supernatural powers." Hopefully, the synopsis was satisfyingly brief. "Should I elaborate on my knowledge, or would this be an inconvenient time to speak?" |

George thought for a minute if the names rang any bell in his mind and found they didn't. Also he had heard of this murders but not that they might have supernatural origin. "Please elaborate, Miss Istrati. And if you could arrange a meeting with Miss Sheridan, I'd be most grateful..." At least a look would have to be done, if people thought a matter important enough to call... |

Relieved that the timing was not inopportune, the Rose continued. "The crimes in question are: The London Zoo mass grave, located in Regent's Park, near the border of Westminster and Camden. The murder of a theologian writer with a focus on cult phenomena, located near the National Theatre, in Bishop's ward, near the border of Westminster and Lambeth. There is also a third crime, described as the murder of a professor. Sadly, I am not familiar with it. "Miss Sheridan has taken an interest in these crimes, and her investigation led her to believe that they are connected. She claims that they all evoked a ritualistic display. 'Satanic' is the word she used to describe them. Afterward, as she was patrolling the border between Fitzrovia and Bloomsbury ward, she claims to have been harassed by an assailant who 'tore into her mind'. From the description, I believe that the power of telepathy might have been used against her - it is a power that a fair number of Kindred possess. She believes that this individual might be one of the culprits responsible for the crimes. "Unfortunately, there seems to be no concise evidence as of yet. We would not normally bother your esteemed position without tangible proof, yet in light of recent discoveries, these 'satanic' murders might reflect a much more sinister presence. The associates of our late Prince come to mind." She paused briefly. At the end of the night, it was only a mere possibility, yet it was nonetheless a cause for concern. "Of course, without evidence, I cannot make any assertion. We would like to defer to your judgement on how to proceed forward, and whether or not you would like us to investigate this matter further." To Francesca's memory, this was everything of relevance that could be squeezed out of the Gangrel's enthused declarations. Now, for the meeting that the Sheriff had asked her about. "It would be my pleasure to arrange a meeting between yourself and Miss Sheridan, of course. She is with me now. Would you like me to pass the phone on to her?" |

George scratched his chin while listening to Franzi. "Interesting... You've taken the right decision to contact me, Miss Istrati. I'll look into that matter, though I'd be grateful for any talented help to volunteer helping with that..." The offer of passing the phone was answered with an evil smile which was large enough to be audible. "I'd rather meet her in person and hear her story myself, if that's no problem for her..." |

She was elated to hear his response. "It would be an honour to help with the investigation. I am of clan Toreador; I can shed insight into the owners of objects, use telepathy to probe the minds of others, and even leave my body to scout out an area as a projection of myself. My abilities, if ever needed, are at your disposal." There was only one detail that she hesitated in divulging, and it made her smile falter for a brief moment. It was the detail of her lost legs. A part of her still refused to believe that they were gone. The solicitation of wanting to meet Robyne in person drew forth an understanding nod. "I believe that she will comply. When and where should I direct her?" |

George wondered if Miss Istrati actually wanted a job as official underling, however they were called. Her talents might be useful, after all... "Alright, I may have a more permanent job for you, if you like, but that is no matter to be discussed via phone, right ?" After thinking again for a while he found Muse was good enough for such a meeting. "The Muse is good, I'll be there in a bit..." |

Francesca was not too familiar with the permanent job in question. For one, she had never acquired an official position within the Camarilla. If it was not a matter of aptitude, then the issue lied in her character. A lack of participation helped her maintain a clearly defined border between the Camarilla and herself. Now, when her task was to become an active member, she was experiencing a modicum of anxiety. All she could do was offer a pale smile, even if it did not translate over the phone at all. It was an honour, but the esteemed Sheriff was correct - this was a matter that needed to be discussed in person. After all, he had not even seen her shameful condition as of yet. The fact that he would, soon, made her tighten her grip over the telephone handle. How embarrassing... "I am overjoyed. Although, I must state that the incentive belongs to Miss Sheridan. Her concern for our Masquerade is commendable, and I am certain that she will be cooperative in shedding light on these cases, as am I. "Thank you so much for your time, esteemed Sheriff. We are severely grateful." |
