Email for Sheriff Harris from Archon von Wenckheim. Dear Sheriff Harris, I confirm that Miss Alessandra Carter arrived in Düsseldorf safe and sound. Thanks for sending her. However, I am confused. Two months ago I was told she was staked, and I requested her presence. I assume that your Prince told you, or that you told your Prince you were holding Miss Carter. Was this Primogen Russo's fault? Did he hold you in any way? Please, let me know so I can decide who is to be punished here. Thank you very much, my friend. Wet regards, Archon von Wenckheim. |

Honoured and esteemed Sir, I hope you can forgive me the mistake of not sending Ms. Carter to you sooner though there has indeed been a misunderstanding, though I don't know at which point, as I was made aware by Mr. Russo that both you and the Prince had been notified and further orders would be to be awaited. I dared to assume if the matter was urgent I would have been told so. Thus I was under the impression it would be both a domestic matter (as I failed the need to waste your time with the matter, as it would only complicate things) and not particularly urgent (as in 'the case would be handled at a time of the Prince's choice). Thus I'm not sure there is anyone to blame and punish but me as I failed to perform my duty to the extent expected of me. Regards, George Henry Harris |

Email for Sheriff Harris from Archon von Wenckheim. Dear Sheriff Harris, I am sorry to be insistent on this matter, but you will surely understand that making a man like me wait for over two months, without any explanation, just doesn't cut it. What I understand from your reply is that, on one hand, the one to be blamed is Primogen Russo, as he misinformed you and, on the other hand, that you assume the blame. There is a third hand here, the one that assumes that this is probably a trivial matter, and that nobody should be blamed or punished. For starters, let's get this out of the way: the third hand is wrong. This is no trivial matter, and responsibility must be assumed. Miss Carter's testimony is absolutely essential to the current investigation, as her allegations actually implicate high ranking people of your current administration. As I kindly told your Prince two months ago, I was not going to suffer her mind to be tampered with, as whatever she has to say could actually make a huge difference in your city. In other words: it's very easy to read this event as an instance of deep political corruption. I am sure that is not the case, obviously, but you need to understand how protocol and hierarchy works. I am going to get in touch with Primogen Russo to clarify this whole affair, and I'm asking you again: Why was Miss Carter delivered to me with such a delay? On top of that, I need to know what happened to her during this time. Miss Carter might be a suspect in this investigation, but that is no reason to treat her inhumanely. Storing her for two months and starving her for no reason, is a very cruel and cold form of torture. I want you to put yourself in her shoes. Paralyzed, aware of everything going on around her, feeling her hunger grow every day, her most beastly side taking over her personality, and still unable to do anything. That situation, itself, could drive any man crazy in a matter of days. She was forced to endure this bizarre punishment for two months, without trial or sentence. I hope she still retains the ability to communicate coherently, and that her mind has not been completely shattered by this torture, but I would not bet on it. I am not happy about members of our organization being treated like that needlessly. Please, explain. All the wish, Archon von Wenckheim. |

Sir, As you wish for the facts to be explained, it will be done. Firstly, while I indeed said there was a problem with communication, I'm not sure myself whose fault it was, as I might have gotten information but either forgot about or misunderstood it. Secondly, if there needs to be fault for the delay it is probably mine, as I didn't know Ms. Carter was requested by you and thus I forgot her in storage so to say... Thirdly, Ms. Carter hasn't been mistreated but only staked and stored for later retrieval, which is as I understood standard operational procedure in those kinds of situations. So to my understanding I have only done to her what would have to be done to every serious offender (though I thought the Prince would give her a trial so that long storing as in other cases wouldn't be necessary). Best wishes and regards, George Henry Harris Edited by George Henry Harris, Thursday, 22. October 2015, 03:28.

Email for Sheriff Harris from Archon von Wenckheim. Dear Sheriff Harris, A man goes to the Veterinarian with his dog, who has a broken leg. The vet does his job, and the man goes home with the dog. Next day, he comes back with the dog, furious. He says: "Why did you neuter my dog?!". The vet is confused, "What?", he asks. "You neutered him. You cut off his testicles. You castrated him. You emasculated him. I never asked you to neuter him. I specifically asked you NOT to neuter my dog. Why did you neuter my dog?!?!" The man was obviously in a state of pure rage, about to murder the vet. The vet laughed at the misunderstanding, and quieted the man's worries: "Oh no! I didn't neuter him! I just took his testicles out! I castrated him! I emasculated him! Sorry about the confusion. I didn't neuter him!" Do you see anything odd in that story? I do. Now let's call things their name: you took a staked Ventrue, and put her in a box. You left the box there, gathering dust for two months. You did not care to feed, or to unstake your guest. Just left her there. I'm sure you are aware that she was awake the whole time, right? That is a very cruel form of torture, in case you have not noticed. But I don't need to tell you that. You know why? Because I already did, in my last missive. So, telling me that she was "just staked" is the same as the vet saying that the dog was "just castrated", and saying that she was "not mistreated" is the same as the vet saying that the dog was "not neutered". Please, assume your responsibility. You talk about some fabulous "Standard Operational Procedure". Now you are just making things up. Or you have the worst protocols in history. If it was something so... standard... Contacting your Prince would have been step number one. What you did here was not protocol; it was laziness, and incompetence. There is something that irritates me: you have replied to me, without really reading my electronic letter. That's disrespectful. I strongly encourage you to try again, and this time do it right. Some regards, Archon von Wenckheim. |
