Mr. Dorin had gone out on assignment on All Hallows' Eve. Groceries for the house at Jawbone Hill. A visit to the hardware store. A stop off at a petrol station to fill the tank of the old shabby Fiat. Make a call. Fingernails scratched at a synthetic hairline as he cracked open a cold Diet Pepsi. He was disappointed that it didn't tantalize his senses as it had only months prior. After tasting the blood of immortals, even the small secret pleasures of mundane human life paled in comparison. While the fuel was pumped into the gas tank, Mr.Dorin stepped into the car and shut the door. He reached into the glovebox as the eyes of the looming mastiff witnessed his doings from the back seat, its' heavy breaths filling the interior of the car to create an interrogative ambiance. He took out a small pre pay cellphone and a handheld digital recorder. He set them both on the dash, then unrolled a tiny piece of paper from his coat pocket and began to dial the number. He waited for one "Mr.Russo" to pick up the phone, or for it to go to message. *Ring Ring Ring* [avatar=http://www.hotellounge.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/GuyGarvey.jpg] [alias=Mr.Dorin] Edited by Iakov Reznik, Saturday, 31. The night had finally come. Marcus spent his sweet time preparing himself for the festivities while Mr Cornwall was busy obtaining a rented vehicle for the evening. Marcus thoroughly overlooked himself in the mirror, over and over before finally exiting his suite. Going down the elevator, he emerged onto the gaming floor with his hands clasped behind his back. He smiled and nodded his way through the sea of people while en route to the front exit. The weather had called for rain that evening, so Marcus would have to stop and grab his coat before leaving. Suddenly, as if his heart had sprang to life again, there was a series of patterned vibrations beating against his chest. Reaching inside his jacket pocket, he took out his cell phone and didn't recognize the number calling. He lowered an eyebrow while looking at the number, wondering who would be calling. He was sure whatever it was could wait until he reached the Muse. Perhaps it was someone calling to inquire if he was going to the party or not. *Ring Ring Ring* "Yes, this is Marcus Russo..?" |

[avatar=http://www.hotellounge.be/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/GuyGarvey.jpg] [alias=Mr.Dorin] Mr. Dorin felt his heart leap into this throat as the voice came through. The massive dog ceased it's oppressive panting as it listened to the small device come to life, creating an unsteady silence in the Fiat that must have left Russo wondering if the call had been dropped. There was an audible clunk, a fumbling, and a small grunt as the ghoul put the cheap cellphone on speakerphone and pressed play on the recorder. A voice came through, gravely, low, and threatening. It had a tinny, slightly processed sound as the one device spoke to the other, their 21st century circuitry working to deliver their message. If Russo could make out the thick accent, he could very well suspect whom it belonged to. "It must being pleasant times for you." A pause. "You must sleep well knowing you turned me into ashes. Tell me this. When you make such promises in your honor, such wagers, is it soo easy to turn your back? Is it so easy to take up this knife and to stab it into his back?" The creature on the line took a breath, raspy and furious, like a dragon in preparation to immolate its prey. "The fire left to its own will surely spread, my blue blood comrade. Know this. You and your precious club has little time left on this earth. You and this cursed tower you serve, with your murderous Henderson, all playing pretend to be civilized-" A dark wheezy snicker could be made out before the Bohemian went on. "When I find you, I will strip you, thread by thread from this world. Your body soo cursed- your mind soo blighted with pestilence, not even worms will treat you with their company." Another dark, furious pause. "Alarik Blucher lives." *CLICK* Mr. Dorin, as practiced, then hung up the phone. He removed the battery and simcard, snapped the phone in half, and wadded the fragments up in a piece of old news paper. He then casualty tossed the lot of it into a rubbish bin, finished filling the Fiat, and drove along back home. Dialtone... Edited by Iakov Reznik, Monday, 2. November 2015, 22:53.

He kept with his stride after he answered the phone. During the moment, Marcus didn't have a care in the world. He was gleefully on his way to the Muse to enjoy the Hallow's Eve party when he heard 'that' voice. Rough. Thick accent. Not so good English.. He had only heard one such accent during his time in London. He knew instantly who it was. He stopped walking. He stopped all movements right in the middle of entrance hallway once he heard the tone and accent. He didn't show any signs of anger in the face, but his mind instantly went hazy with thoughts of extreme hatred and detestation. Marcus, at first, was unaware that the voice was coming from a recording device. In the moment of hearing Svoboda's voice, his blind rage kept him from having that clear of a mind and he spoke back to the recorder. "Svoboda.." he commented during the first pause in the recorder. The message continued and Marcus tried to interrupt. "You're wrong. It was you who... .." The recording went on, leading Marcus to believe that someone was only relaying a message. There was no pause for Marcus' interruption, thus he just heard the message play out. As the message went on, his face slowly drooped into a more angered look. Kine walked passed him on both sides, giving him worrisome looks as he stood there with the phone up to his ear. "When I find you, I will strip you, thread by thread from this world. Your body soo cursed- your mind soo blighted with pestilence, not even worms will treat you with their company." His mouth was closed, so he started to breath strong gusts of wind through his nostrils. He had reached an emotional level, further passed furious. His brows wrinkled as the gusts of air continued to leave his body through his nose. "Alarik Blucher lives." "You listen to me!" he had lost all control of himself and began speaking to the recorder again. "I'll find you! And whe..." *CLICK* For some reason, being hung up on seemed to be most insulting thing. He pulled the phone from his ear and just stared at the screen for a moment, still raging with anger. He felt antagonized. Insulted, above all else. The threats that were made against him and his livelihood wouldn't stand. They wouldn't be tolerated. Spouting false claims that his esteemed Kinsman, Alarik Blucher, was still walking the planet. Another insult; not allowing his dead Kinsman to rest peacefully by suggesting such blasphemous rumors. The Ravnos was nearly lucky in catching Marcus in a fire. It then proceeded to try and blame Marcus for the incident, then call with further harassment, insults, and threats!? Marcus was beside himself. When. Not if. But when the Ravnos is finally captured, the fury that was nestled in Marcus would be carried out on the Ravnos in tenfolds. Hopefully for days. Marcus was lost in time. Lost with rage. He didn't know how long he was standing there looking at the home page of his cell phone. A polite nudge from Mr Cornwall with Marcus' jacket snapped him back into the moment.. The Hollow's Eve party. He had nearly forgotten. Maybe Francesca would be in attendance. That made him give a slight smile once again. He tucked his phone away and took his jacket from Mr Cornwall. After giving a nod to the ghoul, Marcus continued with his evening. |

Some time later, a Ravnos was greeted by his messenger. Mr. Dorin explained the circumstances and outcome, and this caused the Rom's mouth to twitch across his otherwise drawn and solemn face. So it seemed that the threats had succeeded in ruffling the nobles feathers. Svoboda...You're wrong. It was you who... What did he mean? Mr. Dorin was further interrogated over the timing of the treacherous Ventrue's response. The hungry ghoul was all to happy to oblige his master, and soon, once the nearly century old immortal was satisfied, he allowed it to feed from the palm of his hand. As Mr. Dorin fed, Iakov's mind further analyzed Russo's words. Was he blaming him for the fire somehow? Why would someone even bother defending such a point or bother to make cross accusations? or, perhaps he were just trying to reaffirm is asinine belief that he had been the one to murder Alarik. There was something very troubling about that reply, and he wished desperately that he could have heard its tone so he could better assess its authenticity. It was a pity this was the only way he could make contact via voice. It certainly had its drawbacks. Calling directly in any way was simply too risky. The possibility of calls and devices being traced to his location was a constant concern even despite Reggie's soothing lectures on various technologies and their limitations. As he began to feel the walls of the basement pressing in on him, he pulled his hand away from Mr. Dorin, leaving him to his euphoric stupor so that he could pace its confines. Perhaps another message was in order? Perhaps his plans needed to be adjusted? He smoothed down his mustache with trembling fingers as Iakov imagined Russo's plaintive, condescending voice in his mind. You're wrong. It was you... it was you! Edited by Iakov Reznik, Tuesday, 3.
