Player Handle: Sebastian Romuald Name: Sebastian Alexander Romuald Nickname: Bastian Age: 43 Place of Birth: Slough, England Age of Embrace: 23 Clan: Tremere Sect: Camarilla Species: Vampire Disciplines: Dominate, Auspex, Thaumaturgy Merits: Fast learner, scholarly mind, quick witted Flaws: Arrogant, crude, unintentionally condescending at times Languages: English, French, Latin History: As a young boy Sebastian's father was often incarcerated for petty crime, leaving him with little paternal influence or guidance. His mother worked two jobs and rarely had time to spend with her child. Making an advantage out of the situation Sebastian spent much of his alone time growing anti-social and reading any book that he could find reason to. Excelling at his studies, and not much else, his God-Fearing mother sent him to a Catholic school, hoping that the Church could subdue the blood of his father and grant him a chance at higher education. Eventually her hopes paid off and Sebastian went to university to become a priest. Along the way something neither of them anticipated what began to dominate Sebastian's life. While working on a paper about Solomon Sebastian became enamored with Demons. With curious mind and honest intent Sebastian researched the Seventy-Two demons of Solomon, then Demons in general, then the Occult in general, he fell deeper and deeper. All of his free time was suddenly spent researching folklore and ancient spells. The creatures and pagan gods, the old potions and remedies, and especially the magicks. Before long everything the Church had taught him was overtaken and replaced by the Occult, as was his life. He no longer visited family or friends, all of his time was dedicated to something he saw as far larger and more imperative. Within the second year of his research he found himself among a group of like minded individuals, all occultists of varying degrees and backgrounds, different ethnicity and beliefs, and to his irritation different levels of devotion. The group met only during the hours of the night, generally at a decrepit house under the ownership of the group's leader, a lanky well-dressed man that went by the name Naberius. Something seemed foreign about the man, although he claimed to be from London. His accent was typical, although he spoke slow, his mannerisms and personality weren't particularly odd either, to Sebastian he just seemed out of place. This did not put him off whatsoever as he was the only one Sebastian did not butt heads with. Naberius took an interest in Sebastian's dedication and knowledge of the Occult after the first several meetings, often having him stay later than the others to ask and exchange philosophical and ethical topics. As the weeks went on the group got smaller and smaller until finally Sebastian and Naberius were the only two members left. Without having made much more than an acquaintance out of the other members Sebastian was not quick to waste time pondering their absence, figuring that the topics and studies were simply too difficult or dedicated for the lot of them. A few more weeks passed with the duo having taken on a mentor apprentice type of relationship, now meeting every night and studying until early morning. With, as Naberius put it, Sebastian's knowledge of the Occult being at a high enough level of completion his mentor gave him a ceremonial spear-headed dagger and asked that he carve a pentagram on his left hand. Sebastian did so with no hesitation. As the blood trickled from his hand and down his fingers his mentor caught the drips into a goblet before slicing his hand near filling a separate goblet. Without hesitation Sebastian received the goblet and they both drank, Sebastian thinking it was part of some spell they would attempt to perform. Of course this was not the case and Sebastian became intoxicated on the drink, the scenery around him growing dim and blurry before finally succumbing to the darkness and losing consciousness. When at last he awoke his mentor was sitting beside him reading a Grimoire that Sebastian had written to keep track of his studies and theories. Aloud Naberius began to read a passage, "Vampires, a creature of darkness that sustains its preternatural status and powers by the regular consumption of blood. Likely a metaphorical creation made for the purposes of demonizing ritualistic sacrifices made by pagan cultures." A small laugh seemed concealed behind his mentor's lips. As Naberius turned on the solitary light within the windowless room Sebastian had to immediately cover his eyes. His vision and hearing seemed greater than he could conceive. Upon finally being able to open his eyes he realized his senses were all greater than he realized, his already pale skin was lighter and seemed to glow. Too shocked to ask what kind of ritual his mentor had made him the subject of Sebastian simply sat up and tried to form words. No words came, they simply stuck to the end of his tongue. Naberius took a long moment of silence before beginning to convince the unwitting Sebastian that he was now a Demon, one of blood and death. He went into detail of how the Holy artifacts and unrelenting sunlight would now be the banes of his existence and how they must be avoided. Sebastian of course ate up his mentor's words. The next few days were rough however. The prospect of the vampiric, or demonic as his mentor put it, lifestyle were appealing, however the execution was not as he thought it would be. Upon the first feeding Sebastian found himself unable to force himself on his victim, Naberius had to knock the older woman out before Sebastian was able to drink from her. Over time this became easier and easier, eventually no problems continued. The transition of the transformation was rather easy for Sebastian after the feeding was no longer taxing, given his former Occult background. Any moral or religious roadblocks had been removed long ago from his mind and conscious. Due to Naberius' tutelage Sebastian was more or less eased into the future his mentor and now sire had planned for him. Over the years Sire and Childe continued on much the same, researching, pontificating, and the main difference, hunting. Within time Sebastian was made aware of the fact that he was a Tremere Vampire, a member of the Camarilla, and what that really entailed. There was no choice or other options presented, however Naberius made it very clear that the only thing that mattered out of it all was their work. Eventually this all came to a halt, as Sebastian took a decade's long hermitage, his sire was very supportive of this and even gave Sebastian the haven where he now resides as well as any materials he felt Sebastian would need to continue his research of the Occult and what powers it may entail. They still met frequently and compared Grimoires, notes, ideas, and rituals, however, after the sixth month of the fourth year of Sebastian's more isolated venture the meetings became less frequent. After a few more months they ceased altogether. Haven: Sebastian's Haven is a rather small loft on the fifth floor of a mainly uninhabited building. The exterior is rundown, exposed stone peeking through the faded paint, tarnished metal doors, and smudged windows. The interior rhymes like poetry, no lift, worn stairs, and dim lights. His personal loft has few lights as he prefers candlelight over the flickering bulbs. The only furniture that lay within his abode is a simple writing desk with a busted drawer, two cheap bookshelves that bend slightly in the middle from the over-encumbrance of the volumes that sit upon them, and a twin sized mattress that sits inside of the closet. As there is no separation between living space and bedroom the lack of decoration seems the slightest bit less abandoned. Appearance: Sebastian is around six foot three inches tall with a slender build, he walks with good posture, one foot directly in front of the other. His face is stoic and somewhat gaunt, while not expressionless it is not very emotive either. He has high cheekbones, a narrow but somewhat larger nose with a slight upturn. and solid jawline. The main oddity upon his face is his eyes, the left eye is a lighter green while the other is a tad darker, it is not immediately noticeable, however hard to unsee. He carries a light scar about two inches in length that starts on his forehead and cuts through his eyebrow. His hair is a very dark brown, black without proper lighting, and it falls just past his shoulders. Generally his hair is parted near the middle with a singular bang falling in-between his eyes and traveling near the length of his face. He dresses predominately in a rather cheap suit consisting of a three-button jacket, average white oxford button up shirt, slim black tie, black belt, dress pants of a slightly off colour when compared to the rest of the suit, a black leather belt, and lastly thin laced black leather shoes. While not impeccably dressed his buttons are atleast always done. He carries his leather-bound Grimoire in a briefcase no matter where he travels, and in addition he keeps the ceremonial spear-headed dagger in a sheath fastened to the back of his belt for easy access. |
