[First time making a character here... any tips or reviews are welcome! ] Player Handle: StakedSteak Name: Juan Pedro Rubiera, a.k.a. "JP" Age: 48 Place of birth: Granada, Andalusia, Spain Age of embrace: 27 Clan: Ravnos Sect: Independent Species: Vampire Derangements: Clan flaw - addicted to heroin Disciplines: Appearance: JP is a tall, slender man, standing at 6'3" ft and weighing approx. 165 lbs. His complexion is pale yet mediterranean, and his spiky black hair is shorn on the sides. He has languished hazel eyes, thick stern brows, a wide nose, small lips, chiseled jawline and a slightly protruding chin - a usually mean-looking face completed with a thick, wide soul patch. His slender, slightly hairy body is unremarkable except for its rather muscular calves and long wingspan. JP prizes outfits that balance comfort, flexibility and protection, without forsaking a bit of style. For that purpose he wears a long, dark leather trench coat on top of a black sweatshirt, black jeans, and thick waterproof boots. The sweatshirt has "#YOLO" stamped on its front in white bold letters. JP's jewelry consists of basic silver rings on both ears, a silver crucifix necklace and a dark grey tungsten ring on his right ring finger. Haven [WIP]: JP has just moved to a small studio flat, in Blossom Lane, Enfield. It is poorly furnitured, but as long as power and internet work, it suits this Ravnos' needs. JP's studio overlooks the Lavender Hill Cemetery. History: "So, you would learn of JP Rubiera, the Deceiver from Andalusia who miraculously survived the Week of Nightmares and has now arrived to London? Very well, but mark my words - nothing is for free..." "I was born in the city of Granada to a humble housemaid; never met my dad, and the one time mother ever spoke of him she said that he vanished before I was born. As such, we always struggled to make ends meet, but it was a good childhood, if not a merry one. Of course, it all changed at the age of fourteen. That was the year when my mother fell ill, as well as when I first started smoking. It was the beginning of a dark journey; one that inevitably led to my demise... and my rebirth." "When my mom died, I went to live with my grandparents for a time. They helped me finish school and land an honest job as a delivery boy. For a while that worked well: I was able to rent a small studio and live on my own. When my smoking addiction became too obvious, however, the boss decided it was best to fire me, and I found myself unemployed at age 21. For the next five years, I would take on short time jobs - janitor, valet, cashier, tow truck driver, and even police officer! - to pay the bills. I went to rehab a handful of times, only to end up relapsing in a matter of weeks." “I started dealing drugs at age 26, after being fired from yet another job. My cut was good - it allowed to sustain my place and my lifestyle perfectly - and the job was not overly dangerous, though I always carried a piece to make sure. The police caught me only one time, but they let me out once I gave them information on my associates' rivals; a clever move that earned me a position of power among my associates. Our boss, Alberto Montoya, made me responsible for the heroin transportation. I never failed him once." "Nevertheless, this was no life for me. I was hooked to the nicotine, and it was gonna kill me sooner or later, in a slow, painful way. Thus I made a fatal mistake: attempted to kill myself with heroin. I remember nothing, really. I was already unconscious when Montoya showed up out of the blue and embraced me into Clan Ravnos. That night I became a vampire. Cool, huh?" "Not really, no. I struggled very much with that change. It appears the mortals can't know us for what we are, and the others shunned us for our clan. There's no justice, I tell you... anyway, I served Montoya for three more years as his right-hand man, until the Week of Nightmares put an unfortunate, permanent end to our fellowship. I never approved of his decision to embrace me, and he certainly got what he deserved - but he was a friend to me, the only one I've ever had who shared my... condition." "I've been traveling around Europe since then, expanding the business Montoya started, of which I still hold a small share. I've been cautious enough to avoid other vampires; Ravnos are rare and scared of each other since that damned week, and the other clans still have trouble accepting the possibility of peaceful coexistence. Nevertheless, I have hopes that London will be different. The state of the Jyhad there should allow me to blend in more easily, and maybe even make some profit on top of the cut I get from my cartel associates; that is, before the more self-righteous vampires (or just about any Gangrel) decide to drive me out with a stake. If the local Ravnos are unwilling to help or non-existent, I will ponder throwing my luck with the Anarchs; for now, I should remain inconspicuous and try to find the Ravnos community in this city." - Juan Pedro Rubiera Notes: - In terms of personality, JP is usually cool and collected. He is outgoing, even if his expression may seem rather unfriendly. - JP carries a USP pistol in his trench coat at all times, as well as a switchblade in his jeans' pocket. He's a skilled kickboxer and student of the Keysi fighting method. - He speaks Spanish (mother tongue) and English (limited proficiency). |
