Nora stomped into the pub with some determination, her leather clad feet demanding attention as she slipped up into her perch on a bar stool. She shrugged out of her leather duster and slung it over the bar, stretching her arms and popping her hips and tits as she settled into her skin. She scanned the shelves of booze and the bartender drawing a draft beer for another patron down the way. To her right was the jukebox, and to the left was a comfortable view of the door. She was waiting for an old friend, though she didn't really know him at all. They met under strange and rather lethal circumstances, but she was in debt to him and had an itch she wanted to desperately scratch. She ordered a beer, sipping on it casually. Waiting. It seemed like everything was a wait these days... (OOC: Sorry for such a short post, but I'm kinda pressed for time. Should be free this upcoming weekend though!) |

Vinnie stepped into the pub about five minutes after Nora's arrival, a cigarette held in his lips, he took a long drag finishing it and flicked it out of the door before exhaling. It was a stupid law, no smoking inside, stupid and petty band it might seem contradictory for someone like Vinnie to abide with it so closely but the way he saw it there was no sense getting busted for something so small as that. If history taught him one thing about the life of organised crime it was that the ones at the top rarely got caught for the crimes they ought to get caught for - it was always something small - so fuck it, even if it was a stupid law he wasn't going to end up with police up his arse just because he'd indulged in a casual habit indoors. The summer was hot and Vinnie was dressed accordingly; even at this time of night it was still warm - a quirk of his ethnic origin was a tolerance for the heat but still why dress up to the nines just for the sake of appearances. Everyone who need to know him knew him already and those who didn't knew enough about him not to give him shit for how he dressed. So it was a tight plain white t-shirt and straight cut jeans for him, he had faded airforce blue jacket over the top in which he had his 36 concealed; he didn't expect to need it, not in Anarch country and certainly not with Nora. She was messed up and a bit of a junkie but she wasn't stupid and she certainly wasn't desperate enough to try anything in the Tripper. This was Vinnie's turf - in terms of the underworld anyway - he hadn't brought any of his people with him, didn't need to, but he knew for a fact that at least one of his boys would be in the Tripper. It wasn't through design, Vinnie trusted Nora just enough that he'd meet her alone, just coincidence. The barman gave Vinnie a welcoming nod as he pushed open the internal door to the main bar area and poured him a whiskey on ice. There was no need for any exchange of words or money, Vinnie kept trouble and idiots out of the Tripper - no-one who knew anything about the organised crime circuit in London was stupid enough to try anything in the Tripper, even Vinnie's boys knew not to. The pub was too important a location for the local Anarchs for any sort of trouble to get it closed or messed up, so Vinnie did his part to maintain the status quo. Taking his seat next to Nora and accepting the glass from the barman with a nod of thanks Vinnie looked at the girl who had managed to catch his attention not so long ago, the girl who seemed like she was as wrapped up in mortal cares as he was - though hers were a little less lethal at least to kindred. Addiction was a hard bitch to live with, but at least she couldn't top herself any more - Vinnie still had to keep his guard up, he hadn't had to take a bullet to the brain since his embrace, he'd been told he could survive it but honestly he didn't fancy testing out the theory. A shot to the head was no way to find out one way or the other. "So, you tracked me down and you decided to call. Can't say I'm not surprised about it, likewise can't say it annoys me. In fact y'know what I think it actually makes me happy that I have people like you that I can consider a friend; even if we do tend to meet in...less than ideal circumstances." Vinnie raised the glass in front of him bit didn't drink, he swirled its contents around a bit and gazed into it as if deep in thought for a few moments, "I hear you got it bad, the itch I mean. I hear that the usual shit just ain't cutting it for you. It certainly explains why you've gone to all this trouble to call me - don't worry I'm not really bothered either way I'm just happy to help. We all have our needs and I'm here to facilitate, but first how have you been? Seems like an age since I last saw you." |

Nora shifted on her perch, relaxing as she faced him. To anyone else, they looked like two people simply catching up on the boring day to day bullshit among beer and good company, not a coke fiend looking to get her fix. She smiled to him sweetly, "I've been good, a few bumps in the road here and there with Sullivan, but beyond that, we've been managing fine. I hope you've been able to do the same?" She let the words linger for a bit, biting her lip and wondering how to proceed. They both knew she wasn't as well off as she liked to make others believe...she felt like she was beginning to lose control. It'd been three days since she'd fed off a junkie; three days since she'd felt even a sliver of relief from the constant strain of the addiction she nurtured. "We've been moving around a lot. Trying to avoid any backlash from that...'incident' that we seemed to catch ourselves in..." She paused and looked around the bar with some hesitation. There were always eyes and ears seeing and hearing the things you didn't want seen or heard. "We're staying in an old haven north of here, in the middle of Capetown, no less. I can't say it's the best accommodations, but might as well sleep right beneath their noses, right? Those mutts are done for if their stupid enough to follow us into Camarilla territory..." She sucked in an unnecessary breath and watched him for some time. Sizing him up was an understatement, as this was the first time she really had the chance to get a good feel for him without obvious distractions such as shovelheads or gaping wounds in her back. She wondered where he got his information. It was most likely a Nossie that'd been keeping tabs on her for awhile, nothing to really be alarmed about, but she didn't like that he was able to find out about her so easily on the streets. She was nothing less then thorough in covering her own tracks when it came to these things, "You've heard correctly..." It was still bothering her. Surely she was just over analyzing this, but if he knew so much about her habits, what was stopping Vry from knowing them too? It's just the paranoia... Just the edge that seemed to make everything so painstakingly annoying. She needed to get rid of that edge before the shakes started. She could feel them coming. "I need to take the edge off before I lose it. I don't think Sullivan even understands what I need. I can't just snort this shit or mix it into a bloody cocktail to get spun. It has to be ingested and circulated through the bloodstream before I can get my rocks off..." She stopped herself again, getting ahead of herself. She leaned in closer to Vinnie, so close that her lips were just barely grazing his ear, "I need a human. One that won't be missed. I need a human, a couple speedballs, and a secure room with a door that locks on the inside...no windows, no furniture. Just a human that I can get unbelievably high and tear to pieces..." A shiver ran down her spine at the thought. She purred and put some space between them, her fingers twitching as she held her beer with some deliverance, trying to still them and hoping her steel grip wouldn't break the bottle in her grasp. She sighed shakily and looked back to him again, "If you can supply the what, who, and where, I've got the rest...right outside. Can we do this tonight? I need it to be tonight. I know it's short notice but I don't think the beasties can stay in their cages much longer." Her composure was dwindling, and there was blatant desperation in her eyes. "Please..." |

Well shit, his information had been sketchy at best and he'd filled in the rest of the dots himself; but he could never have imagined he'd have been this accurate on the matter - clearly he was more knowledgeable on the subject than anyone would have realised. In truth all he'd done was apply some common sense to what he'd been told and the rest seemed to come easily. Most of his little eyes and ears were mortal, but he was in with the Nosferatu crowd just enough that they dropped little scraps of information for him from time to time - for a price. Vinnie's main source of information this time though was his little ring of dealers, they had told him that some edgy chick matching Nora's description was looking for him. Now the fact that she'd been asking dealers, combined with their comments on the subject, of her manner and appearance, that had been enough to convince Vinnie even without going to the Nossies - but with matters vampiric he liked the confirmation all the same. He listened to her story intently, turning the glass in front of him around on the spot for several minutes. He didn't look at her over much, he didn't need to - you didn't forget a woman like Nora so easily, especially when she was bleeding out in the back seat of the car you were driving. In fact the whole incident stuck in his memory fairly well, he had a good head for situations like that - must come with experience. What she told him confirmed pretty much everything he'd suspected, she didn't have the luxury of being in on the criminal underworld like he was and neither did Sullivan; you might not think that would make a difference to a Kindred but even the two great Sects too easily underestimated just how deep the underworld ran. Even if the shovelheads did come knocking on his door he had an exit strategy and the resources to disappear just as thoroughly as any Nosferatu and if that meant blasting away a few of the bastards in the process all the better - it had been far too long since he'd had a good scrap. Nora filled her in on what she and Sullivan had been doing, that they were still running together (no surprises there really) and that she desperately needed to scratch. Fine by him, business was business but what bothered him was when she said she wasn't all that well off. That meant he wouldn't be getting paid, at least not up front and he didn't like extending credit to his friends - it just ended off badly. He'd had to end more than one of his mates because they took advantage of their relationship to dick him around. Still this was Nora and he felt her pain - to an extent - she was an Anarach and all in all a good person. "Alright, I'll tell you what we take this back to my place - I have a blood pack there that's got so much coke in it it could down a fucking horse. That'll keep you going while I call in a few favours. I have a couple of guys in mind, been dicking me about and trying to screw me out of some money - no-one will ask any questions if they disappear. Just need to fetch them." Vinnie downed the whiskey in one and pushed the glass away and looked Nora right in the eyes, "You're a good friend, and more we're kin so I'll pull this one for you, but you and Sullivan owe me - not money I can get that shit from any Tom, Dick and Harry that walks through the door. The shit's getting chancy out there, I need people I can rely on to watch my back if you get me." |

The thought of just a measly blood bag was disappointing, and he surely could see that disappointment in Nora's eyes as the grip on the bottle in her hand got tighter. She wanted it straight from the source, needed it more then she needed the blood in her veins. She could feel the beast rattling the bars of it's cage deep in her chest, begging to be fed. She eyed him with some interest, and even more hesitation when he started talking details. She had no problem following him back to his place; he'd seen what she was capable of... he'd seen her run head-on into a pack of dogs and shred them with just her claws. He was too smart to lead her into a trap, and for whatever reason, she trusted him just enough to know he wouldn't do that in the first place. What unsettled her was being in his debt... let alone inadvertently dragging her mate into this as well. Part of her hoped he would never know about this, but now it couldn't be a secret. "I'll take care of both of them," She whispered hungrily, "But you'll have to take up Sullivan's dues with Sullivan. Obviously he isn't here...and for good reason. Personally, I'd prefer he had nothing to do with this," making it clear she was talking about the spun out carnage she'd been craving for days, "Nevertheless, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. I'm sure we could arrange something fairly consistent if things go smoothly." Though she knew all too well there was nothing smooth about the business they were talking. "Lead the way, Captain." Nora slid off her perch, trying her best to set the beer bottle on the bar without knocking it over, the tremors in her hands becoming fairly noticeable. Try as she might to keep herself together, her hunger was ebbing into a pool in the pit of her stomach that felt more and more insatiable as the minutes passed. She shrugged into her jacket and made her way outside, avoiding any eye contact and darting rather nonchalantly to the alley just behind the bar where she'd dropped her bag off for safe keeping in a dumpster. Fishing it out and returning to the lit street, she waited for Vinnie, clutching her stash to her hip like a security blanket. She needed to focus, fuck knew someone's eyes were on her, but she couldn't tried to ignore the paranoia nagging her at the back of her mind and keep pressing forward. |

He didn't hesitate, he could see the tension rising in Nora, the animal within her bubbling up to the surface and threatening to break out. Normally he'd pay little attention - he was an Anarach and most often for Anarchs survival meant keeping to yourself, but Nora was a friend and a pretty messed up one; not only that but he'd just found the solution to his problems with muscle. Nora would be reliable enough backup provided he ensured her a regular supply, which wasn't a difficult thing to do in his line of work. He left the pub and went to get his car, he was driving his Shelby Mustang tonight, not the kind of car he'd appreciate Nora going mental in but it couldn't be helped - it was fast, damned fast and very manoeuvrable thanks the the custom machine work that had been done to it - the perfect getaway vehicle, provided you didn't have much to carry. He started the engine and drove the car around to pick her up from the pavement where she stood waiting, reaching across he opened the door and ushered her inside. Mustangs weren't traditionally known for being roomy or particularly comfortable, but yet again the custom job showed through. The space issue couldn't be entirely helped but comfort was no longer an issue with replacement seats adjusted to try and provide great space efficiency. Still Nora had to put her back on her knees for lack of room elsewhere. With a soft roar of the engine Vinnie pulled away and drove off towards his haven, taking an indirect route home. "Just hold on a minute, the blood pack I have back home should keep you going till I can pull in what you need, that shouldn't take long." (( Continued here. )) Edited by Vincent Tadeu, Saturday, 8.
