The Times
The Kindred Chronicle
Key Figures
THE MONSTER OF EALING
Last night, several people reported the sighting of a "screaming red monster" in a quiet neighbourhood of Ealing. After a power shortage in the area, a building caught fire. It was then when, what was described as a "man shaped, footless creature" emerged from the flames, leaping, running, and screaming. One woman has told our reporters that the man had "teeth like a wolf, and the face of the devil". Police officers are still trying to get to the bottom of this; neither the power shortage nor the fire have still been explained. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard has stated that the "so called monster" might be a wounded person, escaping the fire.

TRAGEDY IN TOOLEY STREET
The police has found the bodies of three TFL workers in the construction site at Tooley Street. One of their colleagues raised the alarms last week, when the three workers didn't attend their shifts. The bodies of the men have been found in a deep hole, uncovered by the refurbishment works that are taking place in the area. According to the Police, the bodies were horribly mutilated, which has led to the wildest speculations. The names of the three workers are being kept anonymous, following the wishes of their families.

HOROSCOPE
MARCH 8 - PISCES
You are used to making sacrifices, to prioritising the happiness of others before yours. Even though that is a noble attitude, there are times in life where the only healthy alternative is to embrace your own selfishness and allow yourself some enjoyment. Reserve one hour per day to do something you really like. Treat yourself! Your colour for this month is blue.
Echoes from the past ring back into London. Their intensity increases until they are deafening. What once was a faded memory of a glorious time, now becomes a shocking reality. The consequences of actions taken decades ago ripple into the present, altering the lives of everybody in the City. Unguided and blind, Kindred wander around, trying to make profit out of the reigning chaos.

The appearance of four mysterious figures turned the city upside down. Mistrust and jealousy became the official currency of London. Serpents and fiends rise to power, misdirecting the blaming eyes of the Camarilla towards imaginary enemies. Only those with clear vision and the ability to trust each other strive, while the rest run towards a shallow grave.

"That's a bit rash of you" She commented on the first thing Rob had said, though she her current situation was nothing to brag about either. Marceline didn't trust him just yet, as much as she wouldn't trust anyone she'd just met a moment ago. But he didn't seem all that bad. "I don't really expect anything from anyone anymore, just not getting kicked out or beaten unconcious seems fair" Admitted with a shrug as she started to walk slowly "What brought you to London? And... whats a Gangrel?"

What was a Gangrel? Rob thought to himself slightly bewildered. The twelve clans was one of the first things a young vampire would learn after their embrace. Suddenly it dawned on him. She is a Caitiff!

The poor girl. He thought, sympathizing with the young woman. It was a rough world out there for Rob but at the very least he knew what clan he belonged to and knew his sire. Just knowing these two things was enough to at least make you a somewhat accepted entity in the vampire society. The clanless Caitiff however had no such luck. Some kindred, mostly the elders saw them as completely worthless.

He had met a few Caitiff in his travels all of them usually had a same sense of 'lost' that Marceline seemed to exude.

If Marceline was in fact a Caitiff this partnership possibly blossoming could work out fantastic afterall.

"I came here to start new." Rob said, answering her first question. "The United States isn't safe for me anymore and I figured I would give London a try. Judging from your accent you aren't a local girl either. So what brings you here? And a Gangrel is one of the twelve clans of our kind. Do you know any of the others?"

"Vaguely" she said narrowing her eyes a bit, before looking down to realise the glass that was still being held in her hand "I don't usually meet many.. hummm... Kindred so I can't tell which is which, but that shouldn't be much of a problem. I mean, we're all the same at the core, right?" She looked right and left and threw the drink in the street, but kept the glass. It was a free glass after all. From what she knew vampires didn't precisely crowd the streets and they usually minded their own business and indulged in their pleasures, without trying to get into troubles. Problems started when two or more collided in some area of interest both shared. The Sabbat was an exception to that rule as there was always a bunch of cainites here and there.

"Yeah I guess you are right." Rob admitted. "We all are the same down to the core." He had never really looked at it before, but it was the truth. Rob blamed his upbringing after the embrace. It was sad but if anything the embrace teaches a kindred is how to be a racist but with clans. Stereotyping was easy to do writing off a member of the Malkavian clan for being nothing more than a insane psychopath, a Ventrue being a pretentious blue blood, Ravnos deceptive gypsies, or even Brujah for being violent rebels without a cause.

Even though the conversation with Marceline was interesting, Rob knew he couldn't spend the whole night on the side of the road going through small talk. They were two sentences away from talking about the weather and he had a lot to accomplish that night. "Listen Marceline. The night is growing short and we don't have much time left to get to ground. That paper I slipped to you has my number on it. Please call me whenever you need me."

She looked up to Rob giving him a strange look. Frowning, and then smiling a bit, in a funny way as she curled her lips before speaking. "Need sounds a bit extreme. I mean I don't know what kind of thing everyone is involved in, or if it involves shooting from the back seat of a car as it falls from the Big Ben with explosions on the background, but the most exciting thing that can happen to me is running out of champoo" explained to him. And maybe that had just killed off any interest coming from the Rob side of the fence, she wouldn't be surprised. But again, most of the times the words slipped out of her mouth before she even had the chance of thinking if parting her lips was a good idea in the first place. "But if it's mutant champoo and it's trying to kill me I'll call you" joked

Rob laughed. The girl had quite a sense of humor to her and the idea of mutant hair care products was just hilarious.

"Okay, how about this?" Rob said, deciding to change his wording. "Call me whenever you want to."

She smiled "That sounds better. I'll see ya around then, I think this is like a common meeting point for people of our condition around, so it wouldn't be all that strange"

With one word Rob had a new found respect for Marceline. Rob always thought that the embrace was a curse and just didn't understand the people that thought it has a gift from the powers that be. The fact that she used the word condition really hit it home for him that this girl and he would be really good friends.

"Yeah it does look like the kind of place our kind would meet." Rob admitted. "So I'm off, either give me a call or find me here. This could work out well for the both of us. Until we meet again Marceline." Rob said with a smile as he took off into the night.
