| Welcome To The Night You find yourself in London on a dreary, foggy night like any other. But what lurks in the shadows is the stuff of fantasies and nightmares, far from mortal reality. This game uses the cursed and immortal vampiric condition as a backdrop to explore themes of morality, depravity, the human condition, salvation, and personal horror. We are a writing and roleplaying community dedicated to telling complex and engaging stories. Your fate is your own. Mingle among the ivory-tower elite in the Camarilla, join the fight of the discontented and chaotic Anarch rabble, or set out independently and attempt to survive in London's nighttime underworld. ![]() Alpha version. Now 100% background compatible (yay for transparency support). Each borough has its own layer, the borders are also on a separate plane of existence. Easily modifiable. Cool labels, map legend and stuff coming soon(-ish) ;-) ![]() ![]() (different opacity settings) Edited by TheJersy, Monday, 26. May 2014, 19:29.

I like the second version somewhat better in terms of readability. ![]() Can you blend that one's clarity with this one's level of detail? Though in truth the text is kind of hard to read. |

brown text on a red board on a brown background is not the easiest to read. Especially the paler red |

Yus, a new map was made not that long ago to bring everything up to date. As of yet, I don't think there have been any changes that need fixing since then, have there? |

I sent Knoot's map to Jersey to use as reference--I figured a combination of its exquisite detail and the style-matching classiness of Jersey's art might have a beautiful result. I also asked Knoot to update his with a number of stylistic tweaks. I figured when they were both done, we'd have a map poll to decide on the official map. Or just use both. Also Jersey--while that font is lovely, it's not crazy legible. Something sans serif would probably serve us better in the readability area. And I know there's been some disagreement about this, but for the purposes of this being a tool for the board, I'd ask you to only include borough names that are forums--while the others do exist, we don't tend to interact with them, so including all of them adds unnecessary noise that doesn't increase informative value. |

Alarik: It's a shining example of personal creative activity depicting your artistic concept of what should our in-game map look like. It just so happens that I too have one such concept, and because our concepts are obviously different, I decided to pursue it further, because it's fun making something the way I like it and seeing how others react to it ;-) |

Jane Marlow: Weeell... The thing is, the goal here isn't so much to make a simple, fool-proof, schematic chart that could be included in the forum's walkthrough/tutorial for the benefit of beginners who just want to know what's where and who are better left unhindered by distracting, non-vital information and fancy graphics, but to make an atmosferic piece of bonus material, such that one could imagine influential scheming vampires spreading a similar chart on their desk each time they would start planning a new sinister plot to gain more power (as opposed to a chart somewhere in subway, for when one just needs to get to the nearest Elysium and fast). Therefore, I respectfully refuse to use any of the boring, official-document-like fonts, though I might explore the realm of scripts for something a bit more easy to read. On a similar note, not only will there be the names of the "unnecessary" boroughs, there's also going to be a few more "extras", possibly including (but not limited to) those from the previous version of the map (like names of the surrounding administrative units, and important landmarks). That's not to spite you or anything, it's just that that's the kind of map I want to create - "to make pinned or to not make pinned" is something that you guys can freely decide afterwards, and should you feel a different map is more suited for your needs, I won't hold it against you ;-) |

Ah. Unfortunately you see, we're looking for a simple, fool-proof, schematic chart that could be included in the forum's walkthrough/tutorial. So while I'm sure it will be lovely, it's probably not going to be something we pin. Have fun with your project. |

![]() ...there. It took longer than I expected (Curse you, procrastination! I shall deal with you starting tomorrow!), but at least I could incorporate the fact that Night Tripper is no more, and the new Anarch gathering place is the Hospitality Club. BTW: I remember being asked for the .psd file for the previous map. I don't have it anymore, but I can provide you with the file to this one. |

The PSD for this would be awesome, thank you. Do you need the address of a file transfer utility, or do you have one you favor? |

Since it only has 2,88MB, I was considering sending it via e-mail, but should you prefer otherwise, then I would ask for the adress of the file transfer utility of your choice ;-) |
