Mood Music Mini Quest – Something Wicked This Way Comes ((This will be a Mini-sheeted game, with rolls directed by the ST. I will enable you to create your sheet under a very simple system, as reference. It's also a good guide for learning the system to anyone interested, but who hasn't done the Paper and Pen version! Mael may run a Skype pen and paper game in the future, so this could be a miniature introduction for you to get used to the system!)) Slots Available: There are four spots for this quest, but depending on how many people want in and the way I think the group will play off each other, I may extend that to 5-6 because I will be splitting the group here and there and forcing different interactions. The TV in the living room crackles briefly, as a broadcast cuts through the regular televised programming for a special breaking bulletin. A pretty face comes on the screen, clean cut and wearing a blazer and modest jewelry accents. “This is Lindy May with CTV News, Mass Hysteria has swept across London as residents claim to have seen monsters crawling out of the sewers. We have no less than seven reports of creatures being seen in the streets of London in the last hour alone, and the police department claims to be over whelmed with panicked callers claiming to see 'Monsters' and 'Cthulhu'. I'm here in Hounslow to get the most recent witnesses description, Live for you tonight.” The camera pans out from her face, revealing a long road empty road with a parked police car in the distance, lights twirling with no sound. The man she's talking to is lean and reasonably kept, looking like he's just left his desk job to go home after a late evenings work. He's nervous, pale, and keeps sliding a hand through his hair and looking around like he can't believe whats happening. “This is Sidney Baker, who says just twenty minutes ago he witnessed one of these monsters crawling into the sewer system just 100 feet away carrying away a London resident. Sid, can you give our viewers more explicit details?” The man sighed and seemed to chatter his teeth briefly, before staring at the woman like he was on the edge of snapping. “A fucking monster, Octopus or something, pulled a man into the sewer! It was massive, and looked slimey... It had these huge yellow eyes... and the man it had was screaming and yelling for help. I didn't know what to do! I... I couldn't believe it. I've been working late days, I thought maybe I was snapping but then .. I slipped in a pile of... I don't know, sticky ooze on the side walk. When I hit the ground hard and could still hear him screaming for someone to tell the Prince... I knew I wasn't hallucinating. I think maybe he was though, why would he want to tell William about a giant monster? Shouldn't he have wanted to tell Scotland yard? I think it's a genetic experiment gone wrong...And now it's loose in London. God is damning us for making stem cell Abomin...” The segment cut short there and pans away from the individuals and down the street to the Police car once more, silencing for a few moments before coming back to a slightly frazzled looking Lindy May. “Well, there you have it London. Umm... A giant Octopus monster appears to be lurking through London. Due to the unusual nature of all these claims, the police have issued a warning to all Hounslow residents to stop drinking tap water and only buy bottled. They want to test the water systems in Hounslow and the surrounding districts for possible drug contaminants, to help narrow down the source of these unusual claims. They would also like residents to stay off the streets while they investigate these incidents, believing that maybe they're the unusual work of a prank gang looking for attention. Thank you London, and ... be careful out there.” The programming then went back to whatever was originally on, the unusual bulletin crackling out. If your character has no reason to be involved in this, but you want to be, I will come and GET YOUR CHARACTER and -make- them get involved. This will end up being very much like a dungeon crawl with very unusual circumstances. Somewhat of a Legend of Zelda, Dungeons and Dragons, and Vampire the Masquerade mash up, containing some Mage the Awakening aspects. (Knowledge of Mage is not essential) DO NOT MAKE A SHEET UNTIL YOU ARE GIVEN A THUMBS UP TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS QUEST. This will be a frequently posted in quest, so please make sure you will not be taking an absence during it. (Mini Sheet Break Down) Step One: Choose Archetype: Nature and Demeanour: Your nature is essentially the personality type that your character is deep within, while the Demeanour is the personality type that others perceive you to be. They can be the same, but are most often different. If this is to long for you, or you have trouble, this section is not -absolutely- required, but those who play true to their archetypes will find in quest rewards such as additional WP to spends for auto successes! Nature and Demeanour List Step Two: Select Attributes Prioritize the three categories: Physical, Social, Mental (7/5/3 Ghouls) (8/5/4 Kindred).. Your character automatically has one dot in each Attribute, then decide where to allocate the additional dots. Ghouls may not have an Attribute above 4 dots (but you can have four dots). If you have an Attribute with 4 dots, declare a specialty. That would be an area of expertise that falls within that Attributes compass. A specialty enables you to re-roll a ten as an additional dice, if the roll happens to pertain to your specialty. Moshe Klein is trying to Decipher a manuscript from an ancient civilization whom he's very familair with. He looks to his sheet for dice, and rolls against a difficulty of 7 (Anything 7 and over, counts as a success) (ST will set the difficulty) DICE ROLLER! Please use this roller - : Dice Rollerhttp://www.umbralechoes.com/WoD2Roller.php Attribute first + Ability = Dice pool to roll. Intelligence 4 (Problem Solving) + Linguistics 3 = 7 dice in his dice pool. ( 1,4,9,8,7, 7,7 ) = 4 Successes. (Go Moshe!) Oh wait, are you counting 5? Each 1 rolled negates a success. If you roll more 1's than successes, it's a Botch. Moshe however didn't botch, he just lost one success. With 4 Successes, Moshe easily decphiers the ancient text he was working on, much quicker than expected and can now go have a beer and be embarassed at Kareoke, much earlier than he was expecting. Had Moshe rolled a 10, he would have been able to roll one more dice to add to his successes. (This is an option already in the roller, click the -reroll 10's-) If the dice botches or fails, nothing happens. An additional Specialty dice can only increase your successes, it can not take away from successes with a botch. You only need one success to do something, but further successes indicate how -well- you did it. 1 succes is barely managing the task, 2 is doing decent, 3 is good, 4 is excellent, 5 is an exceptional success. Should this occur, the Story Teller will direct something of -exceptional awesomeness- your way. I am also going to award 3 WP points for this quest. Each WP counts as an automatic success, but to spend that point you must declare it before the dice are rolled. Use these points only when you -really- need to. Rate Physical Traits: Strength, Dexterity, Stamina. Rate Social Traits: Charisma, Manipulation, Appearance. Rate Mental Traits: Perception, Intelligence, Wits. Step Three: Select Abilities Prioritize the three categories: Talents, Skills, Knowledges (13/9/5 Ghouls) (15/11/7 Kindred)... No Ability higher than 4 unless you plead desperately and -very- good reasons for it. Also, if you think your character would have more dots somewhere, please feel free to negotiate with me as to why you think this is. I may make exceptions, but do this in private. I am not going to use secondary disciplines, just to make things simpler. I am also not going to use Virtues, although they are quite spicy and fun. Simplicity for this system first, perhaps if this occurs again we can get into further details. Remember 1 is Poor, 2 is average, 3 is good, 4 is excellent, and 5 is exceptional. Flaws and Merits make or break it in my opinion, they are very fun and create a realistic character. You may, or may not use Flaws or Merits. If you wish to, you can request them here. No more than 5 points of each, but there would be in Miniquest rewards for characters playing to these merits and flaws. Try and Balance your merits and flaws, you can not have 5 points in merits and zero flaws, although I don't expect you to take five points in flaws unless you really want to. I leave this up to you, some people have more merits than others, some have more flaws. Personal choice! Merits and Flaws list Character Name: Archtype: Nature: Demeanour: Attributes (7/5/3 Ghouls) (8/5/4 Kindred).. - Physical - Strength Dexterity Stamina - Social - Charisma Manipulation Appearance - Mental - Perception Intelligence Wits Abilities (13/9/5 Ghouls) (15/11/7 Kindred)... - Talents - Alertness Athletics Brawl Dodge Empathy Expression Intimidation Leadership Streetwise Subterfuge - Skills - Animal Ken Crafts Drive Etiquette Firearms Melee Performance Security Stealth Survival - Knowledges - Academics Computer Finance Investigation Law Linguistics Medicine Occult Politics Science Merits and Flaws: Please also detail the items your character has on you at the beginning of this adventure, but do so only in the quest once I have set the stage for your initial posting, so you can be prepared at the time. I had a stab at it! Character Name: Dove. Archtype: Runaway Nature: Child Demeanour: Optimist Attributes (7/5/3 Ghouls) (8/5/4 Kindred).. - Physical - 7 Strength 1 (2) Dexterity 3 (4) Stamina 3 (4) - Social - 5 Charisma 3 (4) Manipulation (1) Appearance 2 (3) - Mental - 3 Perception 1 (2) Intelligence 2 (3) Wits 0 (1) Abilities (13/9/5 Ghouls) (15/11/7 Kindred)... - Talents - 13 Alertness 3 Athletics 3 Brawl Dodge 1 Empathy 2 Expression 1 Intimidation Leadership Streetwise 3 Subterfuge - Skills - 9 Animal Ken Crafts 1 Drive Etiquette 1 Firearms Melee Performance 2 Security Stealth 2 Survival 3 - Knowledges - 5 Academics 2 Computer 2 Finance Investigation Law Linguistics 1 Medicine Occult Politics Science Merits and Flaws: Merits: Blood Flaw Immunity: (3pt) As per Ghouls: Fatal Addiction (pg. 83) - You are resistant to the flaws of the blood associated with the clan of your Regnant. You also do not suffer any blood flaws associated with other clans when drinking their blood. (Although this flaw is not in the list and pretty much useless, I've included it because it IS fair for Dove who does have it already on his proper character sheet. Looking good while slurping down all that Nossie blood comes at a price, yo. If it's not allowed, I will change it.) Catlike balance (1pt)(VtM 3rd) All difficulties of balance-related rolls are reduced by two. Double-Jointed (1pt) (VPG) You are unusually supple. Squeezing through a tiny space is one example of a use for this Merit. Flaws: Compulsion: (1pt) (VPG) You have a psychological compulsion of some sort which can cause you a number of different problems. You compulsion may be for cleanliness, perfection, bragging stealing, gaming, exaggeration or just talking. Deep Sleeper: (VPG) (1pt) When you sleep, it is very difficult for you to awaken. And roleplay how you never seem to be on time when you have an appointment early in the evening. Impatient: (1) (GC) You have no patience for standing around and waiting. You want to do things now and devil take the hindmost. Everytime you are forced to wait around, you may go haring off on your own instead. Weak-Willed: (2pt) (VPG) You are highly susceptible to Dominate and intimidation by others. Itams. No peeking!

Put me down as a maybe! :3 Character Name: Sawyer Flint Archetype: Good Ol' Boy Nature: Idealist Demeanor: Cavalier Attributes: - Physical - Strength 4 (Specialty: Aggressive) Dexterity 3 Stamina 4 (Specialty: Determined) - Social - Charisma 4 (Specialty: Naturally Likable) Manipulation 3 Appearance 0 - Mental - Perception 3 Intelligence 2 Wits 2 Abilities: - Talents - Alertness 1 Athletics 3 Brawl 3 Dodge 2 Empathy 1 Expression Intimidation Leadership Streetwise 1 Subterfuge 1 - Skills - Animal Ken 1 Crafts 1 Drive 1 Etiquette 1 Firearms 2 Melee 3 Performance Security 2 Stealth 4 (Specialty: Urban) Survival - Knowledges - Academics 1 Computer 2 Finance Investigation 4 (Specialty: Information Analysis) Law Linguistics Medicine Occult Politics Science Merits and Flaws: False Reflection (3pt merit) When using Mask of a Thousand Faces, a Nosferatu with this Merit can create a false impression of his disguise on recording media. He can have his picture taken, show up on videotape and even record an imitation of the subject's voice. Nosferatu without this Merit cannot disguise themselves to machines using Obfuscate. Gaping Maw (2pt merit) You've got a nasty gash where your mouth should be. It can smile, it can frown, and most importantly it can grin two or three inches wider than any human mouth can. An ordinary vampire can suck up to three blood points in a turn. You can drain up to four points. Lacks Common Sense (1pt flaw) Where others think ahead, you blindly leap. You lack the simple decision making skills that most people take for granted. When it comes to rolls for knowledge one would consider common, you are at a +2 difficulty to resist your instincts to discover the results of these ridiculous impulses of exploration. Roll Self Control. Catspaw (2pt flaw) You've done the dirty work for someone high up in a city's hierarchy in the past--the sheriff, the primogen or even the prince. However, instead of granting you favor, your deeds have made you an embarrassment or a liability. For the moment, your former employer's concern is to keep you quiet. In the long term, it's to get rid of you. Edited by Sawyer, Thursday, 12. September 2013, 01:40.

Loki has Promised Johann won't go dark side on our asses, so the roster is set. I will go through everyones sheet's over the next day and give it a good thorough review, and then set up getting the Quest started! There will be options for your starting places, two or three. You'll be able to choose which of those locations you are at, and why. I will also pull together a list of roll examples for those who have never had much rolling history! So you can see what sort of examples would need rolling for. I'm not going to do anything stupid, you don't roll for everyday life stuff. No, you will not botch brushing your teeth and maim your gums. We'll be rolling only for the important stuff, or the difficult stuff where there's a chance you'll fail. I realize a lot of us fail at stupid things like walking and taling without tripping on our own feet in real life, but to make this easy I will assume characters are capable of this magical feat on their own!
