The Kindred Chronicle
Key Figures
THE MONSTER OF EALING
Last night, several people reported the sighting of a "screaming red monster" in a quiet neighbourhood of Ealing. After a power shortage in the area, a building caught fire. It was then when, what was described as a "man shaped, footless creature" emerged from the flames, leaping, running, and screaming. One woman has told our reporters that the man had "teeth like a wolf, and the face of the devil". Police officers are still trying to get to the bottom of this; neither the power shortage nor the fire have still been explained. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard has stated that the "so called monster" might be a wounded person, escaping the fire.

TRAGEDY IN TOOLEY STREET
The police has found the bodies of three TFL workers in the construction site at Tooley Street. One of their colleagues raised the alarms last week, when the three workers didn't attend their shifts. The bodies of the men have been found in a deep hole, uncovered by the refurbishment works that are taking place in the area. According to the Police, the bodies were horribly mutilated, which has led to the wildest speculations. The names of the three workers are being kept anonymous, following the wishes of their families.

HOROSCOPE
MARCH 8 - PISCES
You are used to making sacrifices, to prioritising the happiness of others before yours. Even though that is a noble attitude, there are times in life where the only healthy alternative is to embrace your own selfishness and allow yourself some enjoyment. Reserve one hour per day to do something you really like. Treat yourself! Your colour for this month is blue.
Echoes from the past ring back into London. Their intensity increases until they are deafening. What once was a faded memory of a glorious time, now becomes a shocking reality. The consequences of actions taken decades ago ripple into the present, altering the lives of everybody in the City. Unguided and blind, Kindred wander around, trying to make profit out of the reigning chaos.

The appearance of four mysterious figures turned the city upside down. Mistrust and jealousy became the official currency of London. Serpents and fiends rise to power, misdirecting the blaming eyes of the Camarilla towards imaginary enemies. Only those with clear vision and the ability to trust each other strive, while the rest run towards a shallow grave.

~*~

The sun trickling in through the curtains seared her eyes even through her lids, and she groaned unhappy, rolling over and burying her face in the pillow. Her head pounded, and her body ached. She was exhausted, more so than she probably should have been. How much did I -drink- last night? Sylvia wondered, yanking the covers up over her head.

She pushed them down again, and frowned. The hangover reared its ugly head as she sat bolt upright in an unfamiliar bed, in a...hotel room? Sylvia pushed her fingers through her hair and furrowed her brow. "Water." She muttered aloud, and with great effort, pushed herself to the edge of the bed and placed her feet on the ground.

The world tilted and her head spun, and she whimpered. With one hand on the wall, she made her way gingerly around the edge of the room toward the bathroom, where she fumbled the light on and turned on the cold tap. After she had drunk her fill of three glasses of water, she stood up again and took a very deep breath.

She knew three things for sure; she had gotten incredibly drunk last night, she hadn't made it home, and she was alone in the hotel room. She wasn't sure at all if she had always been alone there, or how she'd gotten there.

Sylvia refilled the glass and made her way back to the main part of the room where she sat gingerly down on the desk chair, and began picking her way back through the memories of last night. She recalled her terrible date, and her choice to stop into the first pub she saw. She remembered that her first reaction had been to run, but she'd sat down and ordered a rum and coke anyway.

As the evening progressed in her mind, things got a little fuzzier. At some point, a woman and her...brother? Had joined her. She remembered talking to them, though what they'd talked about, she couldn't recall. She thought she had liked them.

After that was a fuzzy memory of searching for a payphone and then sitting on a couch in an apartment with Sawyer nearby as she reached for a cell phone.

And then...

Sylvia frowned, peering intently out the window as she rubbed at her face and strained for memories.

And then...?

She stood up and paced weakly back and forth. It was like trying to pull apart welded gates. There was something she needed to know.

Someone plucked the cell phone from her hand and pulled her head aside... She shuddered, suddenly placing one hand to her neck. Sawyer knelt before her and brought her wrist to his lips...

"Oh...no. No no no no..." She dug her hands into her hair and whimpered. She didn't even notice the glass of water toppling out of her fingers and hitting the floor. Sylvia remembered a sharp pain in her neck, and then absolute bliss, and then darkness. There were no marks on her neck that she could feel, nothing on her wrist.

Reason told her she'd imagined it. A wild dream, perhaps.

But memory told her there was some sort of connection she wasn't making. Sylvia reached for her cell phone, and tried to turn it on, but the battery was well past dead. "Shit..." She sunk to the floor, her knees too weak to stand. This, she realized, was no mere hangover.

There had to be something else wrong with her. She turned her eyes toward the mirror above the desk, and found herself absurdly pale. With fear? Sylvia thought she might throw up. She thought she might scream.

"What's happening? Am I going crazy, here?" She pressed her hand to her eyes and her palm was cool and comforting. "Am I going crazy?"
