Rumors are so easily caught in ether. Clarice walked the streets of Enfield with a rouge smile, being glad she kept her ears in radar mode while wandering London's outskirts. Her destination was a bar, so called Night Tripper; no lies, an accurate name for Anarch's nest. Seems this place was good to begin with, for an orphan who goes where the wind blows Let's hope they've got Fanta there... As usually, she was rather worried about little things than people around. Just to be dazed when it comes to confront so many new faces. It's been 3 decades, London went through many changes. The kine are nothing like their ancestors in late '80s, huge degeneration could be felt. What changed among kindred was unclear, the Black Hand was not the same, Camarilla went through some kind of metamorphosis. Only anarchs are always pretty much same, just the faces keep changing Clarice approchaed the bar, a little of its noises could be heard even outside, but maybe it was just naturally good hearing she was gifted with. She put her hand on the door handle and fell into stasis for a while -What if they don't have orangeade there? -You're really worried about such stuff? -Mhm -Jeez, let's just go in, there are many fellas Chris pulled the door and quickly approached the counter, he knew Clarice feels really uneasy and it's better to get what she desired. He called the barman who was just sitting here, quite bored for a while -Yo mate, tell me you've got Fanta or any orange drink for that matter -Sorry man, we've run out of alcohol-free drinks, restocking on monday -You better be fucking kidding me, what about your emergency supplies? Chris didn't get to hear the answer, Clarice was looking all around, seeing all those alien people, many of which were typical punks. Something was tingling in their twisted mind, Chris knew it might end in rötschreck -Dude, listen here, anything orange flavored will do... Clarice was looking so desperate, the barman and people sitting close to her were staring like she was a total freak -Well, we've got orange and mandarine flavored drinks, 8% alcohol, how's that sound? -Fine, get me one over here So the barman did; Clarice grabbed the bottle with her trembling hands, greedily swallowing the orange sweetness, sip after sip. 0,33 bottle was rapidly drained empty, she tried to stick her tounge inside to catch every single drop -Better? -Want more! -You can't drink that much, I don't want to puke again just because of you -Just one little bottle of that sweetness, pleeeeeaase -FINE! Just shut the fuck up The barman was observing her face, expressions quickly changing from ease, through odd nameless one, to a short blink of anger -Um, can I have one more bottle? -Y-yeah, they're 3,5£ each by the way Chris searched the pockets of cargo pants, he couldn't remember in which one he would find some coins and Clarice wasn't helping at all, trying to look rather upon the bottle barman was handling. Finally he found a fistful of coins and dropped them into barman's hand. He knew it will be no more than 9£, kind of fair tip for someone who had to watch a girl in panic Clarice was slowly enjoying the second bottle. The feeling of orange sweetness on her tongue was so relaxing she could look around once again. Many punks, most of which were hot-blooded Brujah. And a few mortals scattered around. Clarice slowly shook her head Do those things even have their pride? Being just a servant, there's a reason they're called bidlo in Russia... So the time was passing, she had no idea what does her clock say and she didn't really want to know. She just dived in the depths of her mind Edited by Clarice Harris, Monday, 9. Clarice was standing with one foot in the Night Tripper and with the other one in twisted dimensions of Malkavian mind. Neural tracts imbued with the curse of broken mirror refused to work properly. Many paths were leading to a dead end, others were splitting like rays of light going through the prism. Not even the best trip could match those dynamic cascades of synesthetic images. The past, the present and the future, it was all non-existant here. The space wasn't 3-dimensional, not even 4D, like mortals used to think. It kept shifting all the time, varying from 2D to easily 5D if you want to describe it with human terms. Memories mixed up with future plans and the current, creating seemingly consistent pulp The music playing in bar was very distant, like it was a concert going in another part of town. Some punk rock was strangely interfering with music coming straight from the depths of her mind The Prodigy - Fire (Sunrise version) Good memories of '90s rave brought a blissful smile upon Clarice's face. She started nodding, just like doped kine. Or like little kid suffering from hospitalism Among these noises, pictures of '90s world were flashing before her eyes. The times when mortals had colorful souls. When vampires didn't yet succumb to decadence. At first she was simply being a part of old events, enjoying them once again. Suddenly her face became quite sorrowful, the veil of memories has faded, revealing the current What happend to this world... All the music in her mind ceased, leaving her with dead silence. Now she could open her eyes, to leave that deserted realm Is it the world going forward so rapidly, or am I aging? What if- Her thoughts were cut, mind became all blank. And suddenly a strange spark shined in her eyes. Clarice looked out for the barman, he was standing right in front of her, turned around minding his own business. She felt urge to express what was just flowing through her mind, ignoring the fact she'll be talking to his back, she said: Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor...I am Pagliacci" The barman froze for a while, without even turning his head. Then he continued doing his stuff Damn, who the fuck is that crazy bitch... |

"Something's been brewing in the Soviet Union, so the Americans send their best agent to sniff around. He comes to town, goes straight to the next bar to listen to what the people have to say. He comes in, goes to the bar and starts to talk with the barman. After a while, the barman says "You talk like a real russian, but you are not from Russia." The American takes a bottle of Vodka from the shelf and empties it in one go. "What now?" He asks. 'You drink like a real russian, but you aren't one.' The American grabs a balalaika and starts playing. He is great and when he puts it down, the barman wipes a tear out of his eye. "You can play the balalaika better than any russian I know, but you are no russian." The American has had enough, he asks the barman. "Why do you keep insisting I'm no russian, then?" "There are no black russians." " "Beats yours, eh?" Ellen sat rather close to Clarice's position and had overheard her talk with the barman. She wore a blue shirt tonight, with big yellow letters that spelled out 'Free Hugs!'. The blonde hair in a ponytail, she watched the girl and gave her a once-over. "Looking for someone or something?" |

Lunatics smirked hearing the joke about Russians. Indeed, there are almost no black people in Russia and those who decide to live in this country are having hard times with the locals. Excessive beatdowns and such, overall fun for the outlaws Clarice looked at the person who just engaged in a conversation with her. Not a punk scum, someone rather neutral. And it seemed like Clarice's skinhead clothing didn't offend her. Her question would be accurate, if it was just directed to a sane person. Looking for something? No, she rarely knew what she's doing around; why, besides the voices calling, she was in this very place, at this specific time I left London, long ago. Now, after- Uh, how long it would be... Over 20 years I think. I'm back and well... It's not the place I used to know. I just...thought I could finally make it my home. No, I'm not yet looking for any specific person For a short while Chris wondered if they're going to get in trouble again, for showing up in apparently wrong place |

"20? You barely look 20 now, kid!" Ellen grinned and gave one of the chairs a kick that moved it a bit towards Clarice. "Can I invite you to a drink?" The Brujah was still thinking about if some drinks were legal for the girl, but decided she didn't give a fuck at this point. Not her fucking daughter, so why the fuck not? Perhaps Clarice would try to get away with getting the stuff not for her age, perhaps not. Perhaps she'd even try to rat her out, but that was part of the game. No risk, no fun. The way Clarice spoke, however, sounded familiar, so she tried her hand. "I'm Jelena, you are?" |

Youthful appearance, it was often a problem. Even that she was 21 at the time of embrace, she didn't really look up to her age. But it wasn't all that bad, it felt quite good to to live in such fresh body Well, I can't drink too much alcohol, not sure if I can take more... Saying that she pointed her chin at two empty bottles on the counter But... Ah, ебать. I'm up for one more turn She smiled heartily and turned to her side, so she was now facing Jelena Jelena! Pronounced with that accent? Must be balkan, eventually ukrainian. Slavic in general, and slavs are the OK kind of people. Well, usually. Anyway, if Clarice belonged anywhere, then it was among the slavs. She reached out her hand, expecting a solid, slavic handshake Clarice |

Clarice got her handshake and more than that. If she were human, her fingers would have been pretty impressed by the strength in Ellens fingers. "Great. When you've had enough, switch to something else!" Jelena spoke up to reach the barman now. "Give the girl her favourite poison, I'll take an orange juice!" She went to the bar to get the drinks. She returned shortly after that and put the drink in front of Clarice, which highlighted her missing finger. The Brujah sat down and held the glass in her hand. "What brings you this far from the motherland, Clarice ?" Girl sounded as if she had at least some relatives there, so she'd decided to simply ask. What was the worst that could fucking happen anyway, right ? |

Chris was so aroused, finally someone who's not effete That's why I call a handshake! As Jelena returned with the drinks, Clarice glanced at her hands. Hands of a person that doesn't shun from the real work, possibly a brawler type. Chris could appreciate it very much. Clarice wasn't sure if she's really seen it, but it seemed like Jelena was missing a finger. She didn't really want to stare like an idiot, so she grabbed the bottle and swung it gently, looking at the choppy liquid inside The question she received, that was interesting, not many people would ask about motherland, especially in modern days, when nationality is so much ignored. All that globalization and stuff... She looked Jelena straight in the eyes I have no motherland. Russia could make for one, but I've got a call, someone told me I might be needed here. So... Here I am. I don't know yet what I'm gonna do in the next days, sure I should report to some officials and stuff, but apart from that... Telling someone who seemed sane about the voices wasn't a good idea, Clarice was thinking how to overcome the lack of serious reason, but that wasn't easy, she was always honest, painfully honest |

"A call or a calling? Sure don't look like the kind of person to be used as an on-call problem-solver." Didn't mean she wasn't, but that was what was the thing today. Couldn't see what people did at once. Made things easier and harder all the same. Ellen pretended to take a small sip from the glass. "Probably isn't any of my business anyway." She put the glass down. [Russian] "Where you're from, Clarice ?" Simple test. Either she was a commie, didn't look like one though, or she'd at least understand in passing. Seemed easy in Ellen's head! That didn't work, something else would have to do. She'd wait for Clarice's reaction first, though. |

It's both call and calling. Wherever I go, there's always something to be done Odd were the paths of her fate. There was no real goal in the unlife, only lot of time without any purpose. Voices were gifting her with destiny, twisted, but it was still the best way she could spend her time. If she could only explain it to the others... [A bit broken russian] I came here straight from Sankt Petersburg, before I was traveling from south to north. But Russia isn't my country of origin. I was born in Poland and... A shade of disgust grimaced her face, she looked down, on her own hands. Recalling her so called homeland in that context was always making her feel bad. Although she hated this country, polish language was the only that she could use to paint a quick picture. She almost snarled a harsh mix of words, speaking in quite bitter manner Skurwiała komunistyczna nora, chuj by strzelił takie państwo... (Softer english version: fucking communistic shithole, it should burn...) Clarice didn't really think or care about it, but Jelena should understand, more or less, what did she just say. After all russian and polish share many swear words |

"Always that way. Some see the work all by themself and others just don't." And it was annoying. Lazy fucks who had to be made aware of everything. She hated those! No fucking clue but always interfering. Way too much of those wherever she went, London looked good so far. Ellen put her arm over the chair's backrest and slid into a more comfortable position to sit in. "Good old Leningrad! Shit place if I have ever seen one!" Not as bad as Karelia, but still a fucking contender. The Brujah grinned at Clarice's words. "Not too bad now that we're rid of the soviets, but still a communistic shithole. I'm from Lviv and our place is not much better. [Ukrainian] Thanks to comrade Stalin, of course!" She raised her glass in the parody of a toast and pretended to sip from the glass. |

She rose her head with a half-smile. Lviv. Polish rednecks were always claiming it to be a polish city. Every russian governor that came after Stalin reckoned it a part of great Russian Empire and secretly wanted to conquer the west once again. Poor Ukrainians, they were always fucked badly. No wonder Jelena fled this country [Broken russian]Heil our great uncle Stalin! Saying that Clarice performed a roman salute, so awkwardly that it rather seemed to be a mockery [Back to eng.]Or so it was going... Clarice grabbed the bottle again, sniffing the orange aroma before taking a tiny sip, just enough to taste it rather than drink. Her stomach capacity was very limited, despite the wonderful taste of this drink, it was becoming harder and harder to hold it in her guts. But she would last at least for a while longer. If anything was helping to train the willpower, then it's fighting own body's limitations (sigh) I tried...and keep trying to find a place in this world. One that would be mine, that I could call my real home. And well... |

"Whatever. The sucker is dead and the only thing I find sad about it is that I wasn't around to kick his dead ass around a bit. Wouldn't have been undeserved. Anyway, to the Soviet Union, may it rot in hell and slowly roast screaming and flailing along with all the party members and execs!" Ellen raised her glass once more and pretended to drink from it again. "Any success yet? I've done the same but I'm slowly getting too old for this shit. Find some place before you get too used to wandering, kid. Think London would be a good place for you? Am still getting used to not being in the fucking States myself, tough business at times." She shrugged. |

It was so heartening to listen to Jelena's rant about Stalin. Western people didn't know what it means to hate the reds with passion. The only generation of british skinheads who shared that feeling has already died out or abandonded their old beliefs because of society's pressure Russia was quite nice, people are just...different there. They don't submit to rapidly changing western trends and I like it. But it comes at a price, life's so tough in there... (sigh) So I moved back to London, it's the city where I started living for real. I want to give it a try. It's going to be hard because I'm already used to wandering. I've seen like half of the Europe but never was to the US and honestly - I don't feel like going there. This shithole's too progressive for me Thinking of the USA, it's society, made Clarice ill. It didn't pair well with full stomach. She rose from her seat, uneasiness could be heard in her voice I'm... Pardon me for a second, I really need to go to toilet She didn't want to look suspicious, so she walked normally, doing her very best to hold the liquid just for a few seconds longer. Once she locked herself in the cabin, she hugged the toilet and spew all the liquid up. Thanks to lack of gastric juice she found odd pleasure in it, as she could taste the orange one more time. Her belly felt huge relief too. After washing her face a little she was ready to return, hoping Jelena would be still there |

"Progressive? One way to say it. More like running after every trend and feeling like the fucking kings of the world. Some over there are alright but at large those fuckers suck andthe way they do their shit? Not too different from how they do it here, but it sucks too." Ellen looked at Clarice as she excused herself. "Not holding you back. Go ahead." Didn't think too hard about the bathroom thingy. What good'd it do? The Brujah still sat at the table when Clarice returned. "Sure you're old enough to drink? Shouldn't do it if you can't stomach the hard stuff!" She tapped her glass, which was now half empty and laughed. Hard stuff, good one! |

Clarice was nodding as Jelena described the modern society in her own way. Pretty much the reasons people were disgusting the lunatics so much. Trends, Chris was almost allergic to this word. No wonder their body turned against them so easily Once Clarice returned from toilet, she took her seat and eyed Jelena. That question made her laugh, she was rather too old to drink. But well, you can't just go around telling people about your fucked up nature. How many times Clarice and her conversation partners had to be so careful, later to find out they're both just animated cadavers. But who knows, Jelena could be just a normal mortal woman She was still laughing, tried her best to soften her laughter so she could speak Seems like my drinking capacity changes along with place of residence, I could drink a bit more in Russia. Weird shit, have you ever experienced it? |

"Had a pretty good draft when I was younger, just wasn't really fun to be around when drunk. Except when you're into fights." Ellen grinned and tapped her glass once more. "Have been dry for a bit more than fifteen years now, so guess I wouldn't take much to kick me off the wagon. Stuff over here's little more than piss anyway, so it's not worth going back for me, even if I'd consider it. So yeah, I could drink more in the Soviet Union as well." Or in Karelia, but that place was too boring to stay sober all the time, didn't really count. She shifted a bit in her seat. "So yeah, I did, kinda at least. Think you'll be OK?" |

Clarice smirked while listening to Jelena's long story short, having that perfect moment to comment between her sentences she wouldn't hesitate to do so Mighty drunken master techniques Hearing little more of her history she thought about her age, she was certainly looking quite young as for assumed age. It could be of supernatural cause, but some normal mortals also retain their young appearance for surprisingly long. Nah, not worth to take suck risk and ask Looks like Jelena cared for her, at least a little. It was...odd. Nightwalkers don't usually care for others. She wouldn't like to exploit this little act of kindness or even make her worried Yeah, I'll be good, this shit can't kill me Clarice leaned towards Jelena a little, her face became frightened in a comic way. She would even lower her voice Hope there will be no hangover |

"Mighty drunken master techniques?" Sounded fancy enough not to need to know. Some weird asian flick popped into her head. Didn't know the name of the actor though. Ellen scratched her head in slight confusion. Whatever. Clarice's silly conviction made her burst out with laughter. "Why not? The stronger stuff can, and that shit can as well! Just wait for it and watch it happen. You're lucky, you'll even notice and can do some witty 'what the fuck' as last words." She rested her head in her hand and studied Clarice. The last line kinda brought out some suspicion that something wasn't right. Going from shit cant kill her to hope thers no hangover? Nah, no sell on that one! "Know a reliable way to find out, kid. Just wait a day. Should survive with a bit of luck." |

Chris was a bit annoyed, being treated like a child drinking for first time. He wouldn't say or do anything, it's just a radnom encounter after all. Clarice though fell for the laughs, she kept smiling and bashed the table with her open palm Damn, and I always thought you need a whole tank of alcohol to wreck your liver! She was tempted to say a few more words, but she kept her mouth shut and it would only sound inside her head Not like that liver is useful anymore... As Jelena calmed a bit, it became easier to keep their collective mind cool. Clarice crossed her wrists on the table, tapping it with her fingertips, overall looking like a person who doesn't care much for her life Don't we need a bit of luck to survive every day? There's always a chance you'll be run over, caught up in flames, murdered by some thugs... She glanced at one of the empty bottles, specifically checking the alcohol volume. Then she kept playing with bottleneck, rotating it between her fingers That's barely 6%... What are the odds? She grinned and looked Jelena straight in the eyes It's probably as dangerous as walking the streets |
