Key Figures
THE MONSTER OF EALING
Last night, several people reported the sighting of a "screaming red monster" in a quiet neighbourhood of Ealing. After a power shortage in the area, a building caught fire. It was then when, what was described as a "man shaped, footless creature" emerged from the flames, leaping, running, and screaming. One woman has told our reporters that the man had "teeth like a wolf, and the face of the devil". Police officers are still trying to get to the bottom of this; neither the power shortage nor the fire have still been explained. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard has stated that the "so called monster" might be a wounded person, escaping the fire.

TRAGEDY IN TOOLEY STREET
The police has found the bodies of three TFL workers in the construction site at Tooley Street. One of their colleagues raised the alarms last week, when the three workers didn't attend their shifts. The bodies of the men have been found in a deep hole, uncovered by the refurbishment works that are taking place in the area. According to the Police, the bodies were horribly mutilated, which has led to the wildest speculations. The names of the three workers are being kept anonymous, following the wishes of their families.

HOROSCOPE
MARCH 8 - PISCES
You are used to making sacrifices, to prioritising the happiness of others before yours. Even though that is a noble attitude, there are times in life where the only healthy alternative is to embrace your own selfishness and allow yourself some enjoyment. Reserve one hour per day to do something you really like. Treat yourself! Your colour for this month is blue.
Echoes from the past ring back into London. Their intensity increases until they are deafening. What once was a faded memory of a glorious time, now becomes a shocking reality. The consequences of actions taken decades ago ripple into the present, altering the lives of everybody in the City. Unguided and blind, Kindred wander around, trying to make profit out of the reigning chaos.

The appearance of four mysterious figures turned the city upside down. Mistrust and jealousy became the official currency of London. Serpents and fiends rise to power, misdirecting the blaming eyes of the Camarilla towards imaginary enemies. Only those with clear vision and the ability to trust each other strive, while the rest run towards a shallow grave.

Toran bowed to his opponent and spread his feet slightly, raising his hands, fingers spread for the match to start. The man was big, not as big as Toran, but still a large man. The bald bulldog lashed out with a pair of fast jabs then stepped in and tries to snap kick his foot into the inside of Toran’s knee. The big mechanic shifted slightly and took both punches on the shoulder, his head ducking slightly back. The snap kick he responded by raising the knee and driving the solid bone of his kneecap into the man’s extending foot. The man hopped back in pain his balance thrown off by the blow to the inside of his foot. Toran snapped a pair of fast jabs of his own, moving forward into the stumbling man. The man ducked and wove between the punches and threw out a fast underhand towards Toran’s belly.

Toran grunted in pain but brought his arm around and caught his opponent’s elbow in both hands. Lashing out with a foot he kicks for the man’s hip and caught it just right, knocking his feet out of balance. The huge mechanic turned, still gripping the trapped arm and dropped to his knee, seeking to flip the man over his shoulders. The bulldog slammed his fist twice into the back of Toran’s head, but couldn't stop the heavier mechanic from sending him up and over to slam on his back into the floor.

Toran’s head was ringing but he kept the grip on his arm, dropping onto his back and wrapping his thick legs around the bulldog’s arm. Toran’s heavy leg was extended over the bulldog’s torso and the leverage threatened to dislocate his shoulder. Wincing in pain the man tapped out with a cry. Toran immediately released the man’s arm and rolled away.
“Good match” He rumbled out with his deep voice. The smaller powerhouse stared at him and shook his bald head, muttering a curse as he left the Dojo. Free sparring time didn't leave him a lot of options for who to practice with, but his hours were too irregular for normal practice hours.

She'd been watching most of the match, the brunette who was leaning on the rope which separated the area designated for sparring from the rest of the place. Her clothing was simple, black workout pants and sports top, flat sneakers with a thin sole and white boxing bandages wrapped around her fists, suggesting she was actually there to train. The fact that a bit of sweat had soaked into her clothes already said she'd been doing just that up until the point where the sparring had drawn her attention.

"Good moves" CJ nodded, head tilted slightly to the side. "You've been at this for a while?" his execution suggested he had even if someone his size? Heh, well, they were either the type who got into fights on a regular basis or never at all as people had the good sense of self preservation to just not go there. So which type was he? She had a feeling he might just be the type to have seen his share of fights.

In her current clothing the musical tattoo sleeve could be seen in it's full form there it wrapped around her arm and up to her shoulder. It was a lot "lighter" than the inkwork he'd had done though. Simple too in fact, even if the technical skill that had gone into making the ink appear like brush strokes was rather impressive. If you knew anything about that kind of work.

"Started doing MMA back when I was a teenager. Been sparring regularly for about 20 years now. Don't compete. Occasional bar fight but that's about it."

His frost-blue eyes shifted to regard her, giving her the light once over so common for men to turn on a woman. He grinned behind his beard as he nodded in a friendly fashion. 6'4 and 260 lbs of dense thick muscle. A simple black muscle shirt and a pair of cut off cargo shorts were his outfit to spar in. He had a pair of light sneakers on and fingerless gloves common to weightlifters on his hands. He walked in a slow circle and flexed his arms, crossing them back and forth over his chest. His voice was a deep black cloud that seemed to roll out of his cavernous chest, warm, rich and dark in the air.

He rubbed the back of his head where he'd been punched and bent at the waist. Reaching down to clasp the back of each thick muscled leg, his spine popping as he shifted. to flex his spine back the other way. The guy had hit hard enough to say the least. He'd have a headache tomorrow if nothing else.

"Grappling tends to be easier if I don't want to hurt the other guy. More control of the fight. I take a few more hits that way, but at least I know where everything is going and whose gonna be walking away."

"Grappling's good when you know what you're doing" and a rather horrible idea if you didn't but your opponent did. In fact, that was a great way of going from being in trouble to being in way over your head. "And from what I saw you know pretty well how to move" he was more experienced than her, she could tell that much even though she'd trained for a few years now. Ever since... Well... Fuck that.

"Your head alright though?" CJ tilted her own to the side, watching him curiously with one arched eyebrow, though she otherwise didn't move, seemingly perfectly fine with staying as she was. "He got a pretty good hit in" and while surely she could've made a few jokes about how a thick skull was one of the better defences a man could have, she knew how fucking much a good hit to the head could hurt. In fact, when she thought about it, those memories were still vividly alive in her mind. Even now, after all that time.

"Never did try MMA, but it looks solid" but, she had stuck to what she had initially started training because she'd found it suited her. Helped her focus.

"More than one good hit really. I've got good hands but, I admit, my foot work has never been good enough to get out of the way of speed fighters. Skull's ringing fair enough but it'll settle down after a while."

Too many prison fights had taught him how to take a blow that should have knocked him out and just keep going out of sheer stubborn willpower. Still the heavy muscled man grinned and walked over to her side of the ring so he didn't have to listen harder over the other sounds in the gym.

"Truth is, most MMA fighters have a solid style they like. Then just learn a few dirty tricks and hard moves to throw their opponents off and keep them on their toes. It's really a rare fighter who manages to learn and blend a few different martial arts together into a real mixed style."

He wasn't one of them either. He'd started out with some basic Go-Ju then added some boxing. He had to go easy too. A lot of the go-ju moves ended in bone breakers that he never used on anyone he wasn't fighting in a serious way.

"What's your style?"

A lot of leaner women tended to go to Krav-mga, which wasn't a bad choice. Vicious and fast it was a damned good self-defense school and it worked good with women. They tended to have better speed and accuracy than men, and stronger lower bodies, so those knee and ankle breaks could get hardcore fast.

She nodded, straightening up as he walked over. Heh, she was small compared to him, but good shoulders and an athletic physique meant she didn't look scrawny or frail.
"Muay Thai" CJ replied, resting one hand on her hip. "I started a few years back, kinda just clicked I guess" since the style had seemed to fit her and she'd kept it up since then. Combined with a bit of weight lifting and fitness training, the girl was able to keep in great shape. Even when she didn't dedicate as much time to it as she perhaps should've.

"So kept it up when I've had the chance" had been hard to squeeze in training while out travelling, but honestly, when she'd travelled she hadn't had much interest in it either.

The brunette offered a friendly smile, holding out a hand to him.
"I'm CJ by the way" she said, figuring it was better to get a name than to settle for tall, dark and handsome. Which, while accurate, was a bit of a mouthful really. "Haven't seen you around here before, but, then again I'm not the most regular person here" it was more of a "when she felt like it" kind of deal.

A huge tattooed hand gently clasped hers and the man shook her hand, regarding her with frost-blue eyes and an easy grin.

"Toran. I've only been living around here for 9 months. Tend to do a lot of night work so I only show up when I need to get some decent sparring in. Mostly take care of the weights work and katas at home in my open space."

He nodded, considering what she'd said.

"Muay Thai is a good in for MMA actually, a popular one. All knees and elbows. Fast way to bring down an opponent. Not my cup of tea. My elbows are up to high."

He grinned for, while a joke, it was almost true. A lot of Muay thai moves centered around driving the elbow up and around. For Toran, most of the elbow strikes would be going downward, losing the power of the legs and hips from the blow. Had similar problems in a lot of styles actually. He was just too damned tall to do a lot of the moves the way they'd been designed to do. Another reason he'd ended up as something of a bruiser. Too much body to get out of the way.

She had a firm grasp though an interesting detail would be that the nails on her left hand had been trimmed short, while on her right they had been left a little longer. Not a whole lot longer, but enough to be noticed. Both hands had been carefully taken care of, but no nail polish or anything like it.

"Well, you gotta go with what you're comfortable with" far from all martial arts fit all people. It was as simple as finding the style that worked with your own body and abilities. Some builds simply worked better with some styles.
"That's what I did" and she'd also gone with a style that she knew she could use to take down someone bigger than her. It had been chosen for more than one reason really.

Letting go of his hand she shifted her weight from one leg to the other, though her movements, just like her general attitude, was relaxed and catlike. As if she honestly couldn't be bothered moving more than she had to. So how on Earth someone like her had ever gotten the idea to pick up martial arts was perhaps a bit of a mystery.

"Besides, with arms like yours? Hell, I would've gone for grappling too" it must feel like being strangled by an anaconda.

He grinned and let out a deep black chuckle, a soft deep rumble that would have fit a movie monster like a talking bear of mountain. He grinned behind his beard.

"Well, not like I was born with them... but I hit my full height when I was 14. It was kind of messed up. Junior high and I'm taller than the teachers. Lot skinnier though. The neighboring schools tried to get me barred from the football team."

It was a funny memory for him. It had hurt at the time but he'd still had a great high school sports career, even if he'd been almost a hundred pounds lighter and not nearly so muscular. It was funny, despite his black curling hair on his chest and arms, he'd never been accused of being "bear like" really. A gay man had once explained it. Bears are big, strong yeah, but also a bit soft and cuddly. Toran had never really had that "cuddly" part so it hadn't worked.

"You're right though. It is important to go with your strengths. Try to force a style to work for you instead of you working with it and you're gonna end up getting hurt."

He'd been a good enough boxer for a while, but while he was quick, he wasn't THAT quick, and he took a lot more hits than his opponents. Even though he managed to get them to stay down. Goju though? He'd never met a man yet who enjoyed having his elbow tucked behind his ear and then getting kicked in the stomach hard enough to sail him across a room. That'd worked pretty well for him.

"Shit, that tall at fourteen? Sorry, I kinda get this picture of Bambi on the ice in my head" the brunette chuckled, because teenage boys were... clumsy. All long limbs and little control. Or well, less control that they would've liked anyways. Hopefully he wouldn't take it as an insult because it wasn't meant as one.

CJ, still all smiles, tilted her head slightly to the side.
"Yeah, and it's going to get boring real fast. Of course, there are those who can suck at something for years and years who still keep at it,but most up and quit when they realize it's a complete no go" she said with a light shrug of her shoulders. There were after all, some things which, while training could improve it, would never ever be really good if you chose the wrong path or showed no talent for it. A good place to view such examples was on Idol.

"So you done for the day or?" was she asking if he was up for a sparring match? It sounded like it, although the woman wasn't exactly a big massive brute so that would result in one uneven match, right?

"Yeah, I wasn't the most graceful kid in the world, and I hate basketball. Two strikes as far as most people were concerned."

He nodded, it did get a bit on the boring side trying to do routines that didn't work for you. But some people just couldn't stop themselves from trying. Had that idea in their head of being the next Bruce Lee and would rather chase that and fail than move on and win. Ah well, so it goes.

He raised a black eyebrow at her question and considered her. He had 10 inches and probably at least a hundred and forty pounds on her. But if she wanted to give it a go, he'd welcome her. He lifted the rope and put his foot on the next one down, pushing down so hard with his leg the corner post creaked, even as he pulled up hard enough with one arm to give her almost three solid feet of free space to creep between.

"Not if you want to give it a shot. You got any standard rules for the sparring you do?"

He'd met more than enough women who knew how to throw a punch or two and some, like Mac, were damned dangerous about it too. He wasn't going to judge her ability on her size.

CJ slipped under the rope and into the ring, stretching her arms once or twice by crossing them over her chest and then stretching them outwards, causing her back to flex as she glanced over her shoulder at him.
"I prefer to go home rather than to the ER" she said, not really able to think of anything specific that she felt needed mentioning. Tap out was a universal thing and obviously Toran respected that from what she'd seen. So, yeah, was there anything beyond that she needed to be worried about?
They were talking about a sparring match, so not as if either of them would be going out of their way to hurt the other. Although, heh, even while fit it didn't really look like she could hurt Toran even if she'd tried.

She turned to face him and while she still moved like a lazy cat he might actually pick up on a few things others did not. Like the way she placed her feet and her centre of gravity. The way while relaxed, she seemed to keep her arms and hands at angles and positions that would leave them unhindered should she need to act quickly.

She probably wasn't a proper fighter. But she had been in a few brawls. And then there was of course the main reason why she'd taken up martial arts in the first place, which was a rather big part of it all.
"You?"

"No pulling out piercings."

He chuckled because, unfortunately some people didn't really GET that rule. He didn't particularly want to see if she went looking for his piercings, since there weren't really any on his face, aside from his tongue, if she'd noticed that. Still he bounced on his feet once or twice and stretched out his arms again. His shoulder making a rough pop where the bruiser had punched his solidly. There was a bit of advantage to having a slab of muscle over most of the areas on his torso, made it a lot harder to damage his bones.

Then he settled, spread his feet to shoulder length and let his arms relax at his sides for a moment, shaking out his fingers and then clenching his fists a few times to get his hands loose. He brings his hands up, open to about stomach level and grins at her.

"Ready when you are."

And he wasn't about to try taking the first moves on her without knowing how fast she was. He had a pretty good idea she was faster than him or she wouldn't be up for a spar.

"No pulling piercings, good rule" and that was honestly all she said before the seemingly lazy cat made a surprise move and lashed out with a kick aimed for his shin. The movement of her body a sudden snap, like a viper lashing out. Though her eyes? They stayed locked on him without breaking away, meaning her body's movement was the only indication as far as where her aim was.

She was putting a bit of force behind it, having watched his previous round she knew he could take a hit and either way, she would have to hit the right friggin' spot if she was to do any real damage. But, it might still be felt because a solid shin kick was always felt if it connected. And even if it didn't he'd be able to tell she wasn't about to hold back.

Though, she wasn't out to hurt him either. She wasn't one of those crazy women who had to be so God damn tough they needed to be the best at absolutely everything. As, regardless of skill and technique there were some things that couldn't be changed and one of them was: that Toran was physically superior to her.

The problem with a shin kick, from Toran's point of view, is that shin's are so fucking low down. Still he leaned to the side and bent his leg up and in, taking the kick on the thick muscle of his calf instead. He let the move bring him into a step to the side, though his feet were now wider apart. He slid his other foot inward and used the almost skating motion of his feet to glide a tiny bit closer to Chrissy. His silver-blue eyes were focused and he had a slight smile on his face behind his beard.

He curled the fingers of one hand in towards his knuckles to keep his palm open and brought that arm up towards his stomach. His tattooed hand spread out then the fingers came together like a blade and his arm stand down by his hip, ready to respond to any mid level attacks. Aside from that though, he remained on the passive side.

She was going to have to come into his range to really go for a more disabling shot, his longer arms and legs giving him an advantage he wasn't going to let go by leaving himself uncentered unless he had no choice.

Well, that was the whole point of it. Most people have a natural reflex that lets them guard their groin when someone aims for it, but most lack the training to move their legs away fast enough or guard them in the same way. And if you didn't have legs to stand on you were in a world of trouble.
So yeah, they were low, that was the point as the heigh difference gave him a huge advantage as far as reach went. And also made it kind of risky to go in with elbow or knee techniques as that shortened her reach even further.

He had good reflexes for a big guy. Which meant she'd have to try a distraction to get an opening. The quick right hand jab aiming high but pulling back half way through to twist her body at the hip and bright her left leg up in a mid heigh kick aimed at the ribs. Because while she would've gone for the knee in a real fight, well, she didn't actually want to do that in a sparring match considering the potential for broken bones.

Her eyes though? They still focused on his.

He faked, his arm coming up to catch her jab. Unfortunately too slow as she pulled back. His reaction to her kick was... different. He didn't flinch from it. He lunged forward. 260 lbs of solid packed muscle taking a sudden hop right into her kick. Absorbing the blow to the ribs and rushing into it. The big man was using his entire body as a weapon to respond to her kick.

His tattooed right shot up in a short jab to the inside of her knee, fingers pointed like a blade. It was a weak blow, but fast and aimed to trigger the tendons inside her knee. A lot of schools considered a move like that dirty fighting. Then again, the places Toran had been fighting for the last several years, he'd left a lot of people crippled because he didn't feel like restraining the goju responses. With CJ at least he was aiming for sharp mild responses, to avoid causing any permanent damage.

Still, he was smiling behind his lips as he aimed to make a point to her. Mua Thay was good, hitting and running was better; at least against someone built like Toran Craig, a moving mountain of dense muscle tissue and trained reflexes.

Big guy was fast, he'd already demonstrated that but showed her he could still surprise with the way he moved. He took the hit and countered it, sending a jolt of pain through her leg when his fingers connected with her leg at an angle and spot that had her regretting the attack rather quickly.

The hissed intake of air though masked what would've otherwise been a short yelp. She knew a couple of things for certain at that point, one of them being that she was going to have trouble standing on that leg right away and if she retreated, he'd follow and take her down. So she went with a long shot. As, when her leg connected with little effect and the pain jolted through it, she moved to pull it back and at the same time move her body into the momentum to lift her other leg off the floor.

It wasn't a safe move, at least one foot ought to stay on the floor at all times, but it did put the full force and weight of her body behind it as the incoming kick aimed for his head. It also meant she was going to hit the floor, but she had enough of a fall technique to lessen the damage of the impact. Hopefully.

Toran took the foot to the head and turned with it. Then he did something that would REALLY have hurt if it worked at full speed. The hand that had delivered the nerve strike to her knee was already half raised. When her foot slammed into his jaw that hand rose with finger and thumb spread into a crook as though to catch her knee. If it caught then he'd be carrying her body up and over his shoulders while he rotated and dropped to a knee with his back to where she had been.

Instead of following up with the most brutal counter he had, his other hand rising to catch the airborn ankle and bring her up, over his shoulder and slam her face down onto the mat with a full body move straight of a cartoon; he chose to sweep his other arm out and back like a back knuckle clothesline. He wasn't even sure he'd connect since she was behind him and he couldn't see her as he hopped back up to his feet and bounced away.

The first move, likely would have killed her. He'd done it once in Prison to a man who was slower than this woman, and that guys head had shattered like an egg when it completed the arc into the floor. He'd never even known about the potence then. Still he had no desire to seem anything inhuman in this sparring. He was just working on increasing his skill through practice.

She had little to no control once both feet were in the air, so she didn't really have much say in trying to counter the way he was moving. But, it had been a far shot, one better than getting floored right away though that was still what happened now as she hit the ground with a grunt, ready for the impact but still feeling it.

Mentally, she was thankful for not having been turned into a rag doll and made to meet the floor face first. Because well, yes, own. And possible death when done by someone with Toran's strength.
The backhand connecting with her guard, which she just barely had time to bring up, was bad enough. The impact and energy only marginally lessened by the way she let her body roll with the blow to bring herself around and up onto her knees.

Her leg did not approve of said move and she visibly winched, though at the same time, something could be said for her stubbornness. She wasn't the type to lay down play dead. Be that for better or worse, even if the distance now put between them was used to catch her breath rather than lash out in another attack.

Fuck. He was strong...
