Name: Ezra Al’Akir
Age: 27
Birthday: --
Gender/Sex: Male
Species: Occult: Psion/Sorcerer/Priest...A little of everything, Descendant of Anubis.
Nationality: Egyptian
Place of Schooling: The Goddamn fields of battle.
Sexual Orientation: Still figuring out if the closet has food.
Height: 5’11
Weight: 193.1 pounds
Hair: Longer, shaggy brown hair typically tied back into a high topknot style. Bangs typically fall into his eyes, which annoys him him...Not enough for him to care though.
Eyes: Golden/Amber

Detailed Appearance:

Ezra, like his brother Ezekiel cares not for appearances. He wears his shaggy brown hair in a type of topknot that is not only easy to maintain, but well suited for battle. His eyes are a striking golden colour, ablaze with equal parts sadness, fury, anger and a touch of craziness. His features are striking, while Middle Eastern he looks like he may have a bit of mediterranean in him. His skin is lightly tanned, and body chiseled like that of a Greek God; which may or may not have to do with his extensive training regiment or past life as a Mercenary with the Battalion. A single scar, long in length runs from upper cheek down across his neck and collarbone. It’s an off colour of his flesh and serves as a reminder for not only himself; but those he teaches to not be sloppy while on the fields of battle.

Atypically he’ll wear a simple white dress shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows to showcase the scars, burns and tattoo’s that cover his forearms. His black tie is typically tied loosely, lazily almost. Ezra pays little attention to ironing his shirts usually, as they’re typically wrinkled or creased; however they’re never dirty.

Detailed Personality Profile:

Ezra is rambunctious, loud and typically uncouth. He’s very rough around the edges and approaches things head on, rather than skirting around the outside. He doesn’t quite understand what “Nice” is. Deep down though he’s a pretty swell guy, pay him a pretty coin and he’ll lend you his sword, guns, heart or whatever else you see fit to want.

Ezra atypically treats people with very little respect, and those he does treat with respect probably think its simply begrudgingly. The simple fact is that Ezra is one of the Avatars of a long forgotten God. He see’s the truth and lies in the hearts of those around him and judges them accordingly, just as Anubis judged the hearts of the deceased against Ma’et “The Truth”. Despite this he understands society functions a certain way, and while in the Scattered Sands his role may be as Judge, Jury and Executioner, in the mortal plane it isn’t as much.

Abilities:

Considering he is the Avatar of a God, his powers could be technically limitless. His abilities could span the cosmo’s...If it were not for this thing called a “Body.” Ezra’s abilities for the most part remain locked due to the immense strain it would place on his physical and very mortal body. While he is spiritually augmented by the psionic forces of the Scattered Sands, he is still mortal. Primarily his abilities include heightened senses such as smell, hearing, taste and sight. Ezra can push the limits of his body to the point of breaking, exhibiting superhuman strength, agility and speed. Notably he’s been said to be able to run vertically up buildings, cleave entire structures in half and lift things as heavy as cars. Although, typically in short bursts.

Ezra’s abilities in the supernatural realm are a bit different. As mentioned above he is physically augmented from spiritual forces. His abilities from the Scattered Sands are completely different though. Ezra carries with him runes and scars on his arms that allow him to utilize a vast assortment of summoned spells from the Scattered Sands utilizing his body as the direct link between the physical world and spiritual one. A few of these “Spells” are:

The Black Gate:

Ezra’s primary ability, the one he’s most likely to go to is called the “Black Gate”. It’s where the Egyptian pantheon resides, and a place where no mortal can physically go unless called upon. To summon the Gate Ezra must call forth from the runes carved and burnt into his body. A primordial black liquid assembles the gate over a short period of time, pouring forth from the once again open wounds on his body. Once fully assembled, the gate will respond to his will only. The Gate itself is large, about thirty feet tall with four thick chains running across it, each chain has a large lock with a hieroglyph symbolizing each, a different God in the Pantheon.

*Tier 2 requires Ezra to be within feet of the gate. The higher the tier the more involved he is within the Gate.

Chains of Anubis:

Tier 1:

Ezra can directly use the Chains from his body if he wishes, only one for each arm though. They come from the runes carved into his body. The Chains are actually strands of the primordial liquid that form nearly unbreakable bonds. While utilizing them from his body Ezra can control them physically, and with his mind. However, to a limited degree.

Tier 2:

The second form of the chains come directly from the gate and are controlled by Ezra’s spiritual powers. These chains have many more abilities, they can bend and form different shapes according to his will and form things like spears, hammers, whips, etc. In addition Ezra can control up to six chains, although the more he controls; the more defenseless he is.

Solidify:

Tier 1:

Ezra has the ability to use the black liquid to encase either his whole body, an area immediately around his body or individual body parts and completely solidify it. This is useful for say, battering down doors...Or concrete structures. The liquid solidifies nearly instantly after setting and can be used within a split second.

Tier 2:

Utilizing the Gate, Ezra can call forth large quantities of this black, viscous liquid to encase entire structures, large areas, or even multiple people. Using the Gate he has the ability to spiritually control the liquid and can force it through even the hardest of defenses.

History:

Ezra was born of sand and fire in the old city of Dendera. Destined to be a Priest of the Pantheon, he was removed from that life by his elder brother Ezekiel at the age of 16 and brought to the Crimson Battalion. Prior to his removal from that life, like his brother before him he went through the trials that gave him the ability to communicate with the Gods. Combined with his already latent powers; it allowed the Gods themselves to use these few siblings as Avatars for their bidding. In order to do so Ezra had to go through a solid month of isolation within a small temple complex, performing rituals and trials; including mummifying the remains of those who had died within the temple prior to him entering. In addition, Ezra had to fight aspects of every God and Goddess within the pantheon, each day bringing a new and unique challenge. At the end of it all, to get out of the complex he had to plunge both his arms into a furnace type device, with handles at each end. Upon turning the handles the furnace clamped down upon his arms, and for a single terrifying minute seared runes into his flesh, granting him the ability to communicate with Anubis, the Egyptian Wolf. Together him and his brother formed one of the premiere special operations units involving the use of supernatural powers. Their Special Operations unit was key in taking down whole organizations and together the two brothers carved a bloody swath through history, feeding souls into the Pantheon as was their destiny.

Following the bloody years of the Battalion, and after its dissolution by the World Government, Ezra found himself following in his brothers deluded footsteps; commanding a Special Operations ground for the remnants of the Battalion known as the “Sons of the Sand” after the last famous Battalion battle. Ezra, feeling his brothers lust for power growing, and knowing ultimately that him and his siblings would be used as fodder for opening the Black Gate, fled. He became a freelance Mercenary, traveling the world; meeting new people...Then killing them. Eventually, his journey lead him to St.Ternyan’s Academy, where he had once met the Headmaster during a conflict in a land far off. What turned out to just be a social call turned into a job offer teaching kids how to beat each other senseless in some war that no one really cared about. Hell, he got paid good money for it. Good enough to teach bratty kids how to swing a sharp object around.
