Eolas let the punching daggers he was so used to fall to the earth as Chris told him what to do and applied the ashes, they would only make him look more suspicious. As he was tossed off and rolled across the unforgiving dirt he considered if this was perhaps vengeance that Chris sought to take upon him. No, his look was far to grim, his plan far to formulated, and his gesture far too sincere. He crashed finally to the hard ground and looked up with a groan, taking in the details of his situation. His situation was shit.

Eolas rose slowly, dusting himself off and trying to appear as un-intimidating as possible. Ten thousand thoughts soared through Eolas mind, he considered playing injured but why would whoever was inside the wagon get out for that. Or they may not even care. He could say running from pursuers such as wolves or bandits, but the direction he came from WAS HIS bandits so that would only lead to their capture. He winced as he moved his arms up, one shooting down to cover an exaggerated wound on his side. He looked to the band with a desperate and utterly terrified look, an arm in the air in front of him motioning to stop. Eolas hoped that this could get their attention at least, he would have to get creative to draw out the target. He continued, and pressed his hand fiercely into his side to force blood out and he said in a weak tone, "Please, lords, halt. I beg ye'." he thickened his accent, as it helped with the portrayal, and he had taken out a charm of the Polaran star, which he held facing the soldiers upon the palm of his hand for them to see he was peaceful. He forced his breath out raggedly, which altered his heartbeat and breathing patterns to match his disheveled state.

The horse-drawn caravans pull up slightly past Eolas's position. The first wagon, the silver garnished black wagon, pulls past Eolas with the other four wagons being to his right all lined up in a single file row. He gets a good look at the crossbowmen squads all sitting at the roof's of the wagons as they take aim down at him. A squad of footmen march up to Eolas, men dressed in cheap chainmail and light leather armor wielding heater shields plus axes or with spears. One of the spearmen begins to lower his spear to point towards Eolas but his sergeant stops him with an accompanied angry glare. "By the void take your aim off the man dammit! He's a citizen!" The sergeant yells out and the crossbowmen lower their aim at Eolas. The sergeant marches up and places a caring grip over Eolas's shoulder while he stares down at his arm wound. "I'm Sergeant Joey Grillian. Are you injuried?" He askes.

"Ahh, aie..." Eolas makes pitiful noises through his panting, a look of hysteria comes over him. He makes "attempts" at talking, but only more whining noises come out. He removes his hand from his side gingerly and reveals a large gash on his side. It was merely from one of the sticks as he rolled down, along with him ripping it open a little more himself, but it looked much more grizzly then that. He began to shiver violently, and after looking down in horror at his wound he stared at the sergeant in an absolutely terrified and pleading manner. His streaming eyes did show some small bit of hope at seeing the kindness of the sergeant, but he could not actualize it into words. He knew that telling them would be infinitely less influential at first then letting their own imaginations affect their opinions on the situation.

"Gods man!" Joey spoke out loud and covered his mouth at Eolas's wounds. "Get this man the herbalist and a hot drink! We'll have the knights ask you a few questions and get to the bottom of this ok buddy?" Joey asks then walks away. He knocks on one of the carriage doors and the door cracks open. A small conversation takes place that can only be heard as small whispers. The door closes and joey walks away. Then all four doors to all four of the wagons burst open at the same time. Four battle-hardened knights all dressed fully iron-clad armor from head to toe. Each one of them carrying a unique weapon and unique armor designs that only share a icon of the bright star of Polaris in the chestplate. From the first a rusted red male knight large in size carrying a large greatsword made out of bone with the blade made up of many razor sharp teeth. The second a Shining orange male knight with tower shield and flamberge. Third dull blue female knight duel wielding curved swords. Lastly the forth a dark purple female knight with a oversized longbow and a strange mace hanging from her hip. From the black wagon the door and windows creak open to observe. All four knights march in the same rhythm until they stand in a half circle around Eolas.

"Strange little boy aint he?" says the blue knight in a thick accent. "Aye he is! Dressed like a bandit of Norland! You might got everyone else here fooled but not me!" spoke the red knight in an older tone as he reaches to grab Eolas but the orange knight grabs his wrist. "Relax Roland. Believe it or not but you don't help our citizens by threatening them." The orange knight speaks and the red knight replies with a growl. "Please sir. What is your name? Tell us what happened to you and we'll get who's responsible. Do you remember where, what they looked like, or why?" The orange knight asks professionally as a servent pulled out a sheet of parchment and a pen. He orange knight ungauntlets his right hand and takes the pen ready to take notes by Eolas's word. The blue knight happy sways her body left and right as she waits for the Eolas to answer. All while the purple knight doesn't speak a word... Rather only stare coldly.

Eolas flinches harshly at the red knight's action, hiding behind one arm as the other tries to cover his dully painful side. "B...b-Beartas... My name is Beartas..." he says slowly, taking deep breaths but his voice still quivering horribly. This was no lie, technically, for it was his middle name. The Forcing of his body to shake this violently made him burn with heat, which was probably not helpful to the bleeding he was experiencing. "I... We... My family," he begins, forcing a scatterbrained sort of telling to the story. He was in no shape to calmly or sanely tell them what happened. "we are foragers, gatherers of berries in nearby wood... Barbarians found us... Attacked the seven of us......." he says just before he begins to shiver violently again and break down. His breathing speeds up once again and he begins to feel light headed, maybe if he fainted he could help sell the story.

"Well... This sounds pretty bad." The Orange knight says and stops writing. "We better get the captain out here. You soldier! Go ask for Captain Lawrence." ordered the orange knight and gives Eolas a pat on the back before walking away slipping his gauntlet back on. Then the door to the black wagon slowly creaked open. First only the foot of a black boot, then the black iron armor of a leg, and lastly a full armored man dressed in black plate armor with silver trimming much like his wagon. He had no weapon and was helmetless, displaying the face of an scarred old man with balding white hair but an impressive long gray beard. As he walked towards Eolas the four other knights took a knee to his presence. "Why hello there... Beartas!" Lawrence spoke with a calm friendly demeanor while he read the orange knight's notes. "I'm so sorry for your loss. Now if you would come with us-... wait. Why do you have ash underneath your eye like that?" Lawrence asked and reached forward, bushing his fingertip against Eolas's face and rubbing the ash in between his fingers.

Then Chris takes a stand out of his hiding place. "What the hell are you doing!" Jimmy whispers as Chris stands out in the open to all the Polaris soldiers. He hops atop of a rock hanging over the cliff edge overlooking the knights. Sergeant Joey rises his hand and all the crossbowmen take aim towards Chris. He stands still, no weapons in hand dispute his body decorated with different weapons everywhere, with the bottom half of his face covered by his bandit mask. He only stares quietly, completely focused on the black knight, with his eyes burning with rage. "Why hello there!" The old black knight yells out cheerfully while still rubbing the ash together in between his finger tips. "So... Beartas. You must be together with this man right? Playing a trick on little old me?..." Lawrence speaks cheerfully and the knights take a step back and ready their weapons towards Chris, Other then the dark purple knight that doesn't lift a finger and the red knight that readies his grip on his greatsword ready to kill Eolas in one swing. "Your friend here.. He wouldn't so happen to be named Chris would he?" Lawrence politely asks.

All the thieves raise their weapons behind Chris, ready to change in the moment literally anything sparks the powder keg. All hell was about to be unleashed.

And Braiden was strangely okay with this. She heard every odd Chris said, and it was true; Eolas was good with his words. He could lie out of anything, and quite possibly buy them time to find out what was in that final wagon. It made her heart pound, and she could't stand being bound any longer. She stopped the bandages from her wrist - which had already started to bruise - despite the protests of the thieves that Aeron had told to look after her. She held one dagger in each hand, a few more at the ready if she needed.

She started to breathe through her mouth as the caravan got ever closer to their position, and she glanced at Chris and his platoon. She desperately wanted to say something, to anyone and everyone, but the words couldn't come out. It felt like her voice gave out, and she started to sweat slightly. Nervous. She was nervous. Because if this wasn't successful.... Most of them were guaranteed to die.

She quickly motioned to her people to shift towards the back towards the mysterious wagon. Only her and her group started to move, and the look she gave Chris as she passed told him not to move until her signal. They needed to be as careful as possible, even if Eolas was sly enough to work their way out of the mess that was to come.

Eolas froze for a moment, his mind whirling like a hurricane of information. He felt the air become deathly still as adrenaline kicked in. His offhand, still clutching the gash, slid a finger into the pocket and began toying with a string. The string was connected to a mechanism designed to release a large cloud of thick black smoke that was dangerous to breath for too long. The balance he had for the size of the blast would only weaken targets, especially on such hardened knights it would have no deadly affect. But, another plan clicked in his mind, and another and a third back up. He began on his forth as the words left his mouth; "Aye, that is Chris." He begins in a fake "worried but attempted composure" tone. "The same man who cut me open and filled me with some bags of black powder to take out anyone who tried to strike me down." He says a little more hurriedly, knowing the red knight was ready. "I think one bag was punctured while going down the hill..." He says in a bit more pained voice, not entirely a lie. The cut was harsh after he picked at it for presentation. "If I move too suddenly or am struck, well, armor doesn't work well against explosions." He says in a mixture of defiance and pleading. He wasn't sure of the man Lawerence was, so he was testing him and the red knight now. If they made even another inch of movement he would smoke the place and escape. He set the bluff, now it was their move.

Lawrence swiftly punches punches Eolas in the mouth right after he finished speaking. Eolas fell straight backward onto the ground from the force of Lawrence's gauntleted punch and before he could even hit the ground flat the red knight sidestepped in front of Lawrence with great speed and held the flat of his sword vertically like a shield to guard Lawrence if he did explode. By the time Eolas even comes to his senses after the blow he is staring straight at the red knight towering over him with his greatsword swung high over his head to cut Eolas in two. He underestimated his enemy, an enemy that has stared at much greater threats then one little boy with explosives and laughed. Right before Eolas's demise, Chris shifty pulls two throwing knifes and launches both of them at the red knight during midswing. One knife completely misses while the other strikes his arm and deflects off his plate wristband. When the knight's blade hits it strikes deep into the dirt beside Eolas and compeletely misses. Chris doesn't even get a second to react before every crossbowman aimmed at him fires and Chris is knocked backwards off his rock hes took upon with three iron bolts striking him in the chest. "FUCKER!" Red knight roars as he struggles to rip his jagged blade out the dirt but quickly does after the brief struggle.

"CHARGE!!!" One of the thieves yell from Chris's side of the canyon and all the thieves sprint forth from his hiding places to clash steel with the enemy. Luckily with most crossbowmen without bolts loaded they struggle to reload quickly as the second line of thief arches moves up to open fire at the Polaris miltary. The red knight before Eolas lifts his blade up high into the sky and begins to swing it down at Eolas once more, swinging with more speed and strength than before.

It seemed like everything was going splendidly... That is until Chris did something utterly stupid. Sighing softly, Braiden used the chaos to sneak up to the cart, her breathing slow. She motioned the others to go and help immediately if things got out of hand and she jumped up into the cart in the back, her eyes glittering with greed at all the pelts, cloth, and food that was stored in the back. Though her eyes didn't miss the corner that held something else that captured her immediate attention.

Her footsteps were silent as she crept forward, crouched as she approached the prisoner. She couldn't tell who it was, but they were tattered and beaten, and her breath caught in her throat. It was one of her own. Quickly she pulled a lock pick from her pouch to free the thief from their chains, catching them in her arms as they coughed theirself awake, and she pet their hair softly. "It'll be okay," Braiden whispered softly to them. "Just wait for me here." She could hear the turmoil outside, the thieves fighting for possession of the carts as she continued to shove each and every box out of the cart, Aeron and other stronger men there to take them and hide them in their own carts that were immediately sent off back towards the tunnel's entrances.

This was going to work. Hopefully nobody would die in the operation.
