Life's hard, grow a pair.
Shallow or not, I still adore this movie. This, and Wizard of Oz were the only movies that kept me sane in the hospital.

I always loved that - even though she lived with awful people who mistreated her, abused her, and made her a slave in her own home- she was still a sweet and caring person. She cared about the little creatures around her, and - despite all odds being against her - never gave up her dream of a happy ending. I respected that about her.

I love this movie, and this princess. She was my idol, basically, growing and she'll always be my number 1# princess.

Maybe the movie itself is weak, but Cinderella herself is not. If she was weak, it wouldn't have taken her till she was about eighteen to finally crack under her step mother and step sisters wicked ways. Up until the dress incident, she remained hopeful, she remained sweet and caring, and she never gave up on her dreams. That's not weak.

So hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

That'd all carry more weight for me if the moral wasn't that she had the most important odd of all in her favor: beauty. (and no, I don't remember much actual bonding with the prince)

But I respect your passion for it.

No, I thought she flashed him her tits and then they fucked in the carriage with the chubby old fairy lady filming it on her iphone wand?

Which is significantly less shallow since the not hot stepsister falls in love with the not wealthy, powerful commoner guy based on things like personality and not their mutual hotness
