Your bad review is just the latest in a long, long string of 'em that I've encountered. I have no interest in ever watching this.

The only think I'm curious about is if they kept the pancakes scene.

From meeeemory they did, I know they kept the kid in it. For some bizarre reason I'm not sure.

If they did, they likely played it in a gritty, broody, serious, dark way like everything else

Yet, try saying "gritty pancakes scene" with a straight face.

I can't possibly imagine how the pancakes scene could've been handled in a "dark and gritty" remake. Do you remember any of it, Repo? Because I'm not keen on watching this to find out.

Honestly, I don't even remember if I saw it or not. I just know that this has pretty much anything that was vaguely "fun" or "enhancing" completely sucked out to leave an utterly dull and joyless film.

Honestly, while Psycho is more pointless... I think this is lazier. They kinda just slapped a camera down and shot stuff, whereas Psycho probably has more time dedicated to ensuring the plagiarism was handled properly. This movie makes the ANOES remake look engaging from what I saw

The only significant change I saw was them changing a mercy kill from smashing someone's face in with a shovel (already a bit on the unnecessarily brutal side, but...) to BURNING THE PERSON ALIVE. Like, dumping gasoline on the person and everything. And that was a mercy kill. That and the deputy is a girl. Thought after how awful I've heard the actress is, I wasn't even going to touch those scenes (and I've seen a few reviewers even claim homophobic undertones or something.... Which is really ironic). The rest of this cast was shitty enough.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever skimmed.

I knew it would not be as funny without at some of the original cast back. I might watch though only because I am a fan of Roth

They suck out all the comedy. And all Roth did was slap his name on a poster and accept a paycheck. Which cast members did you mean, tho?

It's actually the same script as 1. Just... without the comedy.
