Jennifer Help Us (2014)![]() I saw this film at the Freak Show Horror Film Festival, which they were running next to the Spooky Empire horror convention in Orlando. I must say, for some first-time indie filmmakers with no budget, it actually wasn't bad. I loved the killer, the faux-grindhouse style looked cool (even if there were a few moments when you could tell it was shot on an iPhone), and even the acting was decent, especially from the lead girl. That said, the plot and characterization were pretty thin. I recall in the Q&A with the director and writer afterwards that they said they cut a lot of that stuff from the film in order to speed up the pacing. Me, I feel they should've kept a lot of that stuff in, because without it, the plot was kind of difficult to understand. Full review here. And a trailer here: |
