I wouldn't mind if they did.

Forget about the bloody gods and lsiten to what I'm telling you
A new Friday, Halloween, and TCM right after the potentially very successful Scream Queens and Scream series? This... Is really the best chance slashers have had of coming back in awhile. A few non-franchise ones would kinda seal it, as long as some do well

New, original slashers would definitely help solidify their rise. I can't actually think of any original ones in production. Does The Gallows count?

It depends on whether or not they're good and, more importantly, popular. There's been a lot of indie love for slashers and slasher-esque films lately (You're Next is a great example), hearkening back to both the '80s and the '90s, but so far, I'd say it's too soon to call. When the supernatural horror bubble bursts (which I suspect it will sooner rather than later), then I think we'll see a comeback, but until then, all we can do is cross our fingers.

After the monster success of Jurassic World I am gonna place a bet that monster films will become more popular and The Conjuring 2 will be the horror film of 2016.

Jurassic World isn't really horror tho. And supernatural is already on its way out

James Wan is THE horror director today, plus The Conjuring was loved and one of the biggest horror films ever. The sequel will no doubt do great worldwide and probably open huge, even if it might not have the legs of part 1. Plus their has been more shark and monster movies announced since Jurassic World.

I didn't say it'd do bad. I said Supernatural is on its way out, and a sequel to a shitty, vastly overrated movie won't salvage it
