The Minions, breakout stars from “Despicable Me,” are presented in an origin story that showcases their unpredictable personality and physicality, and pairs them with equally memorable human characters. As it turns out, Minions have existed since the beginning of time. They have evolved from single (yellow) cell organisms into the familiar beings we know, and they live for a collective purpose: to seek out and serve the most despicable master they can find. Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock will lead the voice cast of the human characters as Scarlett Overkill, the world’s reigning super-villain of the 1960s.

The animated film the world has beem waiting for has finally been released in the U.S.

Jersey boy for life!
My brother's girlfriend is a huge fan of Despicable Me, so all three of us went to see this over the weekend. We all liked it. It wasn't great or anything (Michael Keaton and Allison Janney were incredibly underused, while Sandra Bullock was kinda meh as the villain), but it hit the spot. The Minions themselves, obviously, were the standouts; you could always tell exactly what was going on even with their gibberish dialogue. The humor involving them felt like, variously, a throwback to classic Looney Tunes and a throwback to the styles of silent film.

My full review is here.

I don't even remember Despicable Me, really. And these guys are so pushed and forced down our throats that they're genuinely annoying

I saw this Sunday and really liked it. I thought it was funny and incredibly adorable. The minions have reasons for being the animated titans they are. They are really likeable, chaotic in the best ways, and are just good old fashioned cartoons.

They were one of the better parts of Despicable Me, but seeing as I've forgotten literally the entire movie, that's not saying much (watched it in class one day for... Some reason)

The hype around them is just unbearably annoying though, and most their crossover adds with anything and everything have become genuinely annoying as well

I'll stick to the vastly superior Inside Out :sistrens:

I never found Despicable Me 1 or 2 forgettable. I mean the promotion is huge because the minions are beloved be all age groups and all nationalities. I actually love the promotion and how incredibly present it all is. I mean there is a reason why the minions have this hype, just mention the word and kids will go giddy.
