Adam from Unfriended
I thought he was one of the best acted characters of the movie, and probably one of the best written too honesty
Well he was, but he was an absolutely awful person. While others I disliked were whiny or too meddling, he was just a very hateable character because of what he did.
He was a fucking SAINT compared to Blaire. Honestly, everyone in that movie was a hateable person (which is sorta the point. Though that does remind me of my Adam issue, his big horrible deed almost felt tacked on to say "Look he REALLY deserves to die!" like his overall douchebaggery wasn't enough. Though it probably wasn't, until then he was easily the most likeable person in the film) Ranking that cast on morality is near impossible, honestly. Spoiler: click to toggle Mitch is potentially #1 if Blaire lied. Then Jess/Ken. Then Adam/Val/Mitch (if she told the truth). Then Blaire
Yeah the whole cast was hateable but Adam just did really bad things. He's probably not a worst character, but I did hate him.
You say that like Val and Blaire didn't? And I hated him too, though he actually did get a few points for Spoiler: click to toggle Not murdering 3Blaire, I have no doubt he knew what was on her card
After the game they played he made the bottom of the list for me. Plus Spoiler: click to toggle he offered Billie to kill just Jess and let the rest live
What he did was vile, no question, but Spoiler: click to toggle It's pretty much impossible to top actively attempting to drive a classmate to suicide (Blaire, and, honestly, Val too. Telling a depressed, emotionally unstable, brutally bullied teen girl to go kill herself is vile)
Blaire straight up MURDERED HIM to keep herself and Mitch safe, so....
Spoiler: click to toggle I took it as they were all bullies and took part in bullying Laura. Plus he was just an awful person in his daily life by drugging women and then forcing them to get abortions. And I'm sure he would have been perfectly fine with killing Jess.
Spoiler: click to toggle Leaving out the detail that they pushed her to SUICIDE (Val literally said go kill yourself, and Blaire is responsible for the entire thing, and I DID get the feeling that suicide was her endgame for Laura) Though yeah, date raping that one girl was irredeemably monstrous. The forced abortion thing is too, but I got the impression it was "just" verbal pressuring and when compared to driving girl to suicide/date rape.... The fact I even have to say "Well, it's not so bad in comparison to THESE atrocities!" is Pretty much everyone in that movie deserved what they got except for maybe Mitch, I can't tell if Blaire lied about the video upload or not Well, he agreed to the offer, so... yeah. But I think that goes for pretty much everyone in the room. It's also worth noting that Adam DID have a chance to directly kill Blaire.... and didn't take it, leading to her killing him. She also happily killed the guy she sacrificed him to save in hopes of self-preservation Really, I'm not even disputing that he's horrible human being who completely deserved what he got. I just think he's a fairly solid character... and that Blaire is infinitely more monstrous
