As much as I love this movie, Alex's offscreen death really annoys me ~_~

I'm rewatching the series, and I found this to be about on par with the first film, better in some areas but worse in others. The acting was definitely worse, especially from the leads, and it wasn't really that scary. However, the opening disaster was one of the best in the series, the kills were all really fun to watch, and I liked the twists it put on the mythology, as well as some of the character development for the supporting cast.

My full review is here.

Pretty much completely agreed, I'd also point out the leads' writing is worse too (not much character development, and they're basically responsible for most of the supporting cast dying) And yeah, the supporting characters are really good, especially Kat and Rory

Nora and Eugene were my favorites of the new characters, but come to think of it, I did like Kat and Rory as well. Shame they didn't get as much screen time or development. Agreed on the leads' writing being as weak as their acting; they were pretty much a generic, flat final girl and guy duo all around.

Kat and Rory were so funny it totally makes up for them not being the most developed (which they were decently so, anyways) And yeah, FD protagonists genuinely don't come weaker than Kim (though Nick gives her a run for her money. Camp is worse at acting in general... But Cooke had the worst acting moment of all five films at Rory's death. And Kim is way more incompetent and stupid. AND she's dragging down a good FD film while, uh, TFD blows) On the other hand... The co-leads do come worse than Burke. Or at least equally bland. Kevin and Clear are the only ones worth a damn
