This was definitely an improvement over part 4. Too bad the fourth film was so bad it caused this one to bomb right after it.

The real reason I'm posting, though, is because I had Lasik surgery a couple of days ago, and all I could think of was Olivia's death scene. Rest assured, it went a lot better for me than it did for her.

This has the second highest box office of the entire series and made over $100 million worldwide. That's hardly a bomb.

So you're just blind and not dead? :D

Well, I can read well enough to post here, can't I? :P It actually went very well, thanks for asking. I think I see better now than I did with glasses.

And this was the second highest-grossing film in the series... internationally. In the US, however, it barely made its budget back, and given that this film was pretty damn pricey for what's basically a slasher film, it's unsurprising (though disappointing) that they didn't make another one after it. (The budgets for the first three were in the $23-26 million range. The fourth and fifth cost about $40 million.)

These serie have always really only been smashed internationally, though. I'm pretty sure they still have rights to foreign box offices, so a little confusing that we didn't get Part 6. Though Part 5 honestly kinda felt like it was designed to be the actual final movie. (Almost like an "I'm sorry TFD kinda sucked")

Just finished rewatching. Still great, and it holds up really well. Definitely the second best after 1
I don't understand why they're so hesitant to do a 6. This did the second best of the series behind 4

Being a huge fan of the franchise, I feel like this movie tied up the series in being a prequel. I would however love to see another Final Destination though. There are still several disasters that could happen (Train, Cruise Ship). This is my favorite film in the series. I love the deaths and characters in this. It's totally rewatchable.

I think the characters are mixed. Most are good, but Molly is really bland, and Nathan's not much better. Dennis is a pretty big comedic miss too (mostly there), but not too much of a problem

I like a majority of the characters in this film:

Olivia, Peter, Sam, and Candice. Nathan's not to bad but bland. The rest are just horrid or boring.
