The generic cast;

The good one.
The fun best friend.
The douchey boyfriend of the best friend.
Some other cardboard guy who only shines later on in the movie when it becomes apparent he's fucking the lead.

Also the "I just hit him with a bat so he must be dead!" naïveté.

Stupid, surly, pointless, noisy or bitchy female characters. Or adolescent girls who get their periods and turn into psychopaths.

Oh no hang on, that last bit does actually happen LOL

Arrogant, take no crap, stand up chicks I like. Bitchy as in bullying chicks I dont like. There's just so much bullying of kids in the real world these days that it actually upsets me to see it on film.

Dunno. Sort of upsets my maternal urges. Keep in mind I'm quite a bit older than most of you guys and gals on here so I probably have a different outlook on bullying of young people (in that I can step away from it because I dont even remember bullying happening at school, whereas you guys are either still at school/college/uni whatever you call it over in americalandia, or not long ago graduated so your memories are much more in the present about it). Hope that makes sense.

Oh, you mean like Chris from Carrie? IA then, hate them, but that was kinda the point with her. But characters like Tamara or Melissa from Fridays 7&8 are sorta both and I love to hate them <3 They're so perfectly evil
If it helps I don't think they're good people and almost always feel like they genuinely need to die. I just love watching them.

Jessica is more of the first type, though she's a legitimate bitch. But she's also hilarious

Oh loving to hate characters is fine. It's all about watchability. One of my favourite bitches at the moment is Freddie Lounds on Hannibal tv series. She's totally awesome but a loathsome character. I absolutely love watching her.

The kind of bitches I like are like Nina Papas from wrong turn 2 and Paige Prescott from Valentine.

You Can't Do This Alone
- What Matty said about the killer in the closet or in hiding.
- Character who is the obvious red herring.
- Extremely stereotypical queer characters.
- Final girls being the same almost all the time.
- The jump scares you can tell are coming from a mile away.
- The villain who spouts off exposition and their motives like a bad Batman villain.
- POC characters being written off early in the game. (It's difficult for me to think of at least 10 where this isn't the case)
- The group always being warned about the town or location (typically an old guy).
- The car stalling during an escape from the killer.
- The jock always trying to get into someone's pants or acts like a giant asshole to the rest of the group.
- Someone always conveniently coming across information about the town's past.
- Going up the stairs instead of out the door.

Pretty much everything RainboweyedWolf said too.
