What do you think about the idea of remaking horror? Terrible and should never happen? Go for it? Good, but some movies can't be remade?

Personally, I'm always for seeing a remake happen. If it sucks, the original is still there. If not, yay <3 Another good movie, even if it doesn't always top the original. I just wish that all remakes had effort put into them, rather than just soullessly cash in on the original. That said, plenty DO have real effort and ARE great though <3

You basically summed up my thoughts. I think they're all cash-grabs, some of them succeed some of them don't.

I'm glad RZH script was different from the film, because it was terrible! Def. a cash grab/weird ass script. Surprised that the remakes I love, people hate.

I would definitely contest the idea that all remakes are cash-grabs. I mean, in one sense they are (As all movies are cash-grabs) However, THHE remake clearly was not JUST a cash-grab. They put effort in and wanted to make a good movie.

The ANOES Remake, on the other hand, is just soulless and a cash-grab with no effort. That's the kind I'm against (Though you can't really tell until it's made so...)

Yeah, I love a good fun remake like SR. In general though, I prefer more brutal, dark, realistic, and twisted ones <3

i have seen alot of good remakes, i used to feel that they were pointless and stupid, but the last couple of remakes i have seen have proven to be really good, so i would say i'm am definitively up for remakes, like the upcoming Evil Dead remake :excited: :excited:

Preach! The SR remake was just amazing. And that song emergency! We need more films like SR. I actually would prefer some more original horror films ideas like hates/the apparition (even though that was a bad grudge rip-off) it would be nice to see some ideas people can come up with instead of remaking every 80's flick they stumble upon.

Even though the ED remake looks amazing.

I think that there's nothing wrong with remaking films, and some are very good.

Plus "original" films can come out of remakes. Train, for example, started as a Terror Train remake. It ended up more like Hostel on a Train though, but is definitely better than TT and would loosely qualify as original

Hm, Ill need to watch that.

Is that even a good idea? Horror movie mash-ups to make a remake?
