The only time I'm against a remake is if I'd rather have a sequel. For example, I'd rather there be a Evil Dead 4 with Bruce Campbell coming out than some gritty reboot.
How about just have both?

I'll believe an original franchise and a remake franchise can coexist when it actually happens.

Since the 80s, you mean. Most of the reviews say it'll be best enjoyed by fans of the originals and it homages the hell out of them, so you better hurry with Evil Dead II.

So hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

I'm usually all for remakes, unless I think that a movie should really just be left alone.

I enjoy a remake when it still keeps true to the original source material, and giving it respect, while bringing something new to it. Like a new fresh direction style, new story elements, new characters, ect.

Examples of remakes I like are...

Let Me In
Dawn of the Dead
Evil Dead
Mother's Day

some remakes can be fun if done right. it has to not be an exact copy of the original [Omen 2006] and needs to add new elements to stand out [Halloween 2007]

Damon: im bad Andie i do things i kill people

Andie: why do you kill people

Damon: because i like it- Damon Salvatore talking to Andie Star from season 2 of the Vampire Diaries
