FD3 is the fan favourite man! For good reason to!
I think it's more of a base breaker. I see a lot of people rank it as one of the best, but (mostly, not always) they care more for kills/fun than characters/plot. The characters/plot group seems to invaraibly see it and TFD as being the 2 worst.
It's in my bottom 2 of the series personally :P I love it though, but not on par with 1/2/5
Ah interesting. I think it's the film which causes the most debate within the fan base, that's for sure. Most of the fans perspective on the film differ based on how and when they viewed the film. In my instance, I actually saw FD3 before I had seen FD1, so FD3 was my first introduction into the high-school set up, basically enjoying it without comparing it to the previous FD's (it being so different to FD2). So in a way I was able to enjoy it purely from a story perspective, with the plus of an awesome young talented cast with buckets of energy on screen. I think the fans who saw FD3 earlier on as a fan got a bit more of a kick out of it personally.
Ah, that makes a lot of sense then :P Though objectively I'd say it's the weakest storywise, even under TFD (though overall a MUCH better movie) I saw the series in order (one of the only times I've done that O___O) so going from 2, which built on 1, to 3, which was more or less a remake, was really jarring XD I do still love it in a fun way though :P
And yeah, it definitely spawns the most debate from what I've seen. 4 probably spawns the least for obvious reasons, lol

I definitely think the cast was great, but the characters much less so. Wendy and Kevin were great, but while I like Ian and Erin, even they're poor excuses for characters (Ian tells a traumatized girl to kill herself while his female clone Erin sadistically laughs) Then there's Lewis/Frankie/Julie... It was basically filled with awful people you WANT to see die :P Which is my biggest issue (the 2nd one being the fact it makes no plot progression and is highly, highly repetitive. The whole movie is Wendy and Kevin going from place to place watching people die)

There are certain rules one must abide by to successfully survive a horror movie
Definitely Halloween 3, it's very underrated and shouldn't be hated on as much just because it doesn't have Michael in the film. It's really good if you consider it to be a stand alone. It's actually one of my favorite Halloween films, maybe top 3, definitely top 5.

I can't remember anything about it minus not liking it, even as a stand alone. It's not just hated for no Michael

I usually always see it hated on just because it doesn't have Michael. I thought it was a good supernatural horror, still confused why they even called it a Halloween sequel though. :skull:

Oh, yeah. That hate does get OTT. Just keeping it in perspective
Carpenter wanted Halloween to be an anthology series (each film is a dif horror story) So AHS on home video

It does. :skull: I'm guessing he changed his mind considering 4 went back to having Michael.
