I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
Loloops my bad. That's embarrassing. xD Obviously I'm not very knowledgeable about The Titanic lol

But yeah, I still think it is a good movie. And I remember adoring it as a kid xD.

So hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

Life's hard, grow a pair.
...I um...I adored the ending half of this movie as a little kid :S I always watched the ending half as a kid. I always thought it was so excited and such. Then I learned it was a true event, then I started watching the full movie more often lol

I have to watch this movie once a year at least. I bought the Blu ray set last year, very expensive tho.
I hate to admit that Titanic is one of my favorite movies ever, most of my friends hate it.

Once you get past the love story it's a great movie. And who cares if Rose was a virgin or not? The chick was still hot lol.

Adore this movie. I'm currently doing a film production degree where I have to say with baited breath (or otherwise lie) that Titanic is my favourite film. Because it really is. This film had a tremendous impact on me as a kid, and sparked a fascination with the ship itself, something that me and my Granddad share. I try not to watch it too much, but whenever I do - it's just like seeing it for the first time again - no other film for me installs the amount of emotions and reactions that Titanic does. I didn't fall in love with it because of Jack and Rose. I fell in love with it because it's pure escapism for 3 hours - the life and death upon the ship is something the audience feels apart of - we don't watch, we experience. It is without doubt a timeless classic. And Fabrizio De Rosse is a complete sweet heart.

This movie was amazing when I was little. It still is fantastic, but I actually started doing heavy research and it was so interesting. I think this movie is such a neat perspective of something that we never really got to see much of because of it's age and short life. The set for this movie amazes me whenever I watch it :)

There are certain rules one must abide by to successfully survive a horror movie
I honestly did not like this movie that much. I do agree that it's heartbreaking, the film picks up during the second half somewhere around...the painting scene. The first part of the movie is really dull and feels like your typical rich girl falls for poor guy and they fall in love and live happily ever after. Plus, who can forget that classic song; My Heart Will Go On by Celine. Which seems like a good song at first, then it sucks, terribly I may add. This film is definitely overrated, really does drag and get caught up in the story. I'd give it an 6/10, the second half really really saves this movie, in my opinion.

I second this!!!!
Plus, I don't know why people bother about the love story, I mean, we needed a plot, using just real characters would generate controversy, because we don't know enough about their personalities.A Night to Remeber did this, but was a movie more about the sinking.

Plus, ANTR started hero-worshiping the person they chose to be the lead (Officer Lighttoller) and giving other real life people's contributions to him to make him more main character-y. Never mind that his misunderstanding of "women and children FIRST" cost many men their lives (he'd send the lifeboats down empty before letting men on, even if there were no more women around) and also probably lied about one of the Marconi operators confessing the sinking was their fault before dying so people had someone to blame.

Every Titanic movie has a fictional romance, even ANTR itself. Anther reason I don't mind Jack/Rose is that it highlighted the differences between first and third class. You got a real taste of the Edwardian era, while other Titanic movies dance around it to avoid making anyone look bad.
