I don't think the bubbles in the bath is a reference to Scarface

Its an iconic image from that movie. Plus all the other Scarface references. "I got Scarface on repeat! Scarface on repeat!"
Spoiler: click to toggle
Oh, that makes sense. I can see how it relates to Scarface.

And I find Alien developed in lots of ways but not much as Faith. Alien is a coward trying to live The American Dream but fails. A "scardy pants" trying to be a gangster, and like I said a coward. Candy is a psychopathic bitch but much more than Brit is. Candy's psychopathic element was much more developed, showing that she treats life as a video game. Vanessa and James performances were amazing, since Candy's constant finger shooting was very telling, as for James speech.

Source for his American Dream stuff? Plus, being a gangster isn't part of the American Dream. But alright-
Alien is cowardly gangleader who uses other people.
Candy is a psycho who sees RL as a videogame (part of the get back to Church motto)

So deep

This movie was a mess for characters and plot wise. The color usage in the cinematography is probably one of the only notable things.

This is the worst example of an art house film, as well.

Like most of SB, Alien flat out says it at times. :P

I personally couldn't tell the difference between Candy and Brit, except Candy really, really can't rock blonde hair.

Lol. Oh. I tried to mentally drown him out. That's not really deep then if he flat out says it throughout the film.

Candy was a bit bitchier. Like getting pissed off at Faith leaving. Not that much more though.

It's like a 5/10.
Annoying, unlikeable characters (minus Selena)
In your face "GET BACK TO CHURCH" message
Lacks any sort of notable depth

I couldn't even get through thirty minutes of this movie.

I personally think 5/10 is generous.

More like 3/10, imo.

You just...can't compare The Bling Ring to Spring Breakers. It's like comparing fruit to candy. Spring Breakers is a dark, gritty, beautiful crime drama. The Bling Ring is a dark comedy. You can only compare them through visual wise (though Spring Breakers is more colorful) and the fact that it has two girls going "bad" (Emma and Selena).

Derek, I thought you can't compare The Bling Ring to Spring Breakers?
