Excited for this movie for Emma Watson, tbh. |

I am REALLY hype to see Emma as well. This movie was...a disappointment. The characters were very basic, and we never got to focus on any of them except for Marc. I liked Marc, and...um...whoever the asian-ish chick was. The only thing I liked was the social commentary, cinematography, and music choices. But other than that, this movie really lacked especially from such a talented director. I wanted to like it but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It was just very bland. 4.5-5/10 :/ Edited by Screamer, Sep 9 2013, 03:18 PM.

The Asian chick you're referring to was Katie Chang, her character's named was Rebecca. And yes, she was awesome. <3 I agree though this is not Sofia's best movie. I rate them: The Virgin Suicides > Somwhere > Lost in Translation > The Bling Ring > MarieA The only reason it's fourth though is because the previous three were amazing. And this was just okay. But I still enjoyed it. I thought it was a good attempt and understood what she was trying to say about the youth generation at the moment. |

Exactly. It wasn't bad, it just didn't meet my expecting. Emma's character was...ew. I liked her, but I didn't. She was VERY whiny, and it was a little much. |

Emma's character was a realistic portrayal of our youth today and that lifestyle that everybody kinda wants. |

In all honesty, I don't care THAT much if a character is realistic. What's important is to be INTERESTING and not annoying |

I'll judge on seeing ![]() But, to me, realism isn't a super strong defense for a character. It can HELP, but interesting comes first. Likeability 2nd |
