Spring Breakers meant a lot more to me. I actually was one of those people who fell into thinking it was a deeper film with a more interesting message on how we want our lives to be one way forever but that's just not how it works. It really got to me and I also found it to be a much more entertaining film overall.
I know a lot of people who saw a complex message, whether it be about God vs the Devil, a commentary on Britney Spears, or some kind of straight-face parody of "these kids today" movies.

As hard as I want to like something that is 90 minutes of Selena Gomez and Ashley Benson half naked, I just don't see anything there but an after school special as directed by Joe Francis. Maybe it's really a neon, bikini-clad Rorschach test.
