Over Nick? Why?
why not
Because-

Sam is better acted
Does a better job saving people AND saves more people (WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING INTERVENTION IS POSSIBLE!!!!)
Has more of a personality
Is less boring
*ahem*

I'm sorry? You lost me. Does one need to know that it is possible to get an incentive to try and save somebody's life?

O___O Shocked at Sam being your favorite
Why Sam and Kim over Alex though?
Why are you shocked?
Also it really alters between Sam/Kim/Nick being my favorite. I'll have to rewatch the series before I give a full opinion since if has been a while.

It's not. Sam doesn't have dead eyes. His tone changes throughout the movie to go with the scene. His facial expression changes. The way the actor carries himself changes.
Bobby Campo (Nick) often speaks in the same way. He also underacts big time (For example, walking around the pool casually saying "Hunt?" rather than RUSHING around and shouting Hunt! That's on acting, not writing) I've also seen him in other movies and he gives the same performance, therefore he's not so much acting as he is reciting lines.

I didn't say incentive. I said intervention
Sam doesn't know that it's possible to save a person through intervention, but he DOES save Molly from Peter.
Nick saves nobody (premonitions don't count) LORI is the one who saved Janet

Sam's a nice, down to earth guy. We also learn his dream is to become a chef, but he's working a deskjob for money and torn between the two. There's also the fear of uprooting his life and leaving for Paris. His relationship with Molly is also given development with her breaking up with him so he'll go to Paris, whereas he wants to pass on Paris to stay together.

Nick is a nice guy. He's dating Lori. He has a sneaker fetish.

Yeah, Sam wins.

I suppose, but from an objective point he IS less typical. The cook stuff is interesting and different for a lead. I can't think of an original quality to Nick

Lol. Nick obviously sucked
If he wasn't here I'd vote Kim though:

-Most generic of the premonitionists (I can't remember a single NON-final girl trait to her)
-Terrible at saving people
-Her weird relationship with Burke
-Probably the weakest of the remaining 4 performancewise as a whole. Definitely weaker than MEW and Devon

Kim and Nick are easily the two worst. Ugh.
Actually, leaning towards Kim as my most hated. Nick obviously sucks too, but at least he was halfway competent (vs. getting everyone else killed) And while Campo's performance was overall worse... Cook has the single worst moment of acting in all FD
