I'm still gonna, but I can't ignore over HALF a series when ranking favories lmao. Oh, 4 is a lot better than 3 (which I give a generous 3/10 for Jennifer and Sidney), but it's still average. And I don't think "bad" quite describes the jokes during death scenes ![]() Excited for your thoughts. I honestly don't know your thoughts on Nightmare at all, I assumed you didn't really care for them 3rd, but all 3 are incredibly close for me |

I wouldn't say I don't care for them, but definitely less watched that Scream, H and F13th's. I remember the whole thing with Freddy being a bit to funny for my liking and I think I started to take it less serious because of that. The whole idea behind the ANOES though really is something. |

I don't see how you can complain about ANOES being too goofy (Except like... Part 6) when you love Scream 4? I thought that was even more OTT comedic than ANOES 3&4, and maybe even 5. Plus, while IA it got too comedic, it was still fun and enjoyable IMO. Not to mention creative |

It's not that the comedy ruined it, as you pointed out I love horror movies with elements of comedy - such as the aofrementioned Scream 4. I just think that is has a place in the "Scream universe" whereas less so in the "ANOES universe" lol. They are entirely different movies/concepts and I think it took away from how frightening Freddy could be at times. Dream Warriors heroin/needle fingers scene, anyone? That freaked me out when I was a kid lol. |

Freddy was often at his MOST sinister when funny though. I mean, funny Freddy- 1) Turned a girl into a cockroach 2) Forcefed a girl her own organs 3) Tried to make a girl relive her father's rape (The only one of these not featuring accompanying one liners. It;s actually fairly serious despite being in the most comedic film) 4) Exploited a kid's disability inflicted by his mother to torment him 5) Literally SUCKED the life out of a girl It goes on and on. A lot of it is almost fridge horror when you realize all the utterly fucked up stuff he does we're supposed to LAUGH at Not half as bad as the puppet death or the cockroach one. Cringe Funny you bring up Dream Warriors, since that's the one which started the humor. "Welcome to Prime Time Bitch" |

Like I said, I will be watching again so I'll keep an open mind. Yeah but I didn't mean the movie in general, I just meant the first time you see him with his needle fingers. From what I remember the hospital setting was amazing though. It's just personal preference. It doesn't always have to make sense or be rationalized. |

I kind of had H, F13th and ANOES all to contend with at the same time, and then Hellraiser not long after. But as soon as Scream came out I watched it the first chance I got and it had me under a spell lol. I'm lucky in some ways that I'm the youngest of 5, I just had the original horror franchises forced on me and had to watch them. |
