It's all over tumblr/internet  People are saying Jennifer didn't deserve it and only got it cause she was white. Stupid indeed, but that's just the internet.
Oh. On IMDb people to seem to agree that it's because Jennifer is an it-girl, as well as this movie's bizarre popularity. Even Amy Adams won.

Both Jennifer and Lupita were fantastic. The thing I think Jennifer had that really sold her performance was she took every scene that she was in and stole it, utilizing ALL of her ability. Lupita was so moving as Patsy, but I feel she didn't utilize herself, or at least didn't have the opportunity to display her full abilities.
I wouldn't knock Lupita for not chewing scenes as a sullen slave; Jennifer had a flashier character. What I know is that Lupita gave a heartbreaking performance, and the

is probably the best acting of the year.
I said she really couldn't do that much standoffish work with her role in my post because of it being a slave. I'm not knocking her.

I think Lupita was VERY moving in that scene. That scene brought me to tears.

But you know being emotional doesn't mean that you had the best performance. A good performance has all qualities. Jennifer Lawrence balanced both emotional scenes and crazy mannerisms and monologues. She just really took her role further than it could've ever imagined to be with such small amount of screen time.

Regardless, if Lupita or Jennifer win the Oscar, I'd say both are deserving. I'd be happy for both, heck, even if Julia Roberts won. She was really great in August: Osage County.

Jennifer had more notes to play, but I think Lupita played her fewer ones better than any of them. The best performance can have 50 qualities or 5. It depends on the strength of those qualities. Pacino doesn't do much in Godfather: Part II but be cold and ruthless, but he excelled at it. Whereas Jennifer had some great scenes, but others she felt like a caricature.

I haven't seen Osage. Not sure if I want to. Even the title makes me bored.

Nominations are in. Was there something I missed about Cooper's performance? I liked it.....when it was the exact same performance he gave in Silver Linings Playbook. Poor Daniel Bruhl and James Gandolfini.

Bradley Cooper did not give the same performance as Silver Linings Playbook. Are you kidding? In Silver Linings, he is an emotional man with Bipolar disorder.

In American Hustle, he is a angry rookie in the FBI with a big dream to be something big.

They're not completely different and have their similarities, but they are still far from being the same.

Glad this movie got 10 nominations. :) I'm also happy for Gravity and 12 Years A Slave :)
