The grey doors of the library push open with a stomach-wrenching screech, casting brilliant light into the dreary confines. Slowly, a young woman tiptoes inside, pulling her violet shawl tighter. She is simply clad in a blue shirt and matching, knee-length skirt. "Hello? Is anyone here?" |

"I...could've...taken care of..." Aurora shakes off the thought and smiles at Kursten. "Oh, no. I'm off for the afternoon." |

Kursten blinks a bit. "You could've? But it's my job. I was the one that encouraged you to do it here, anyway." Hearing that she was off, Kursten laughs. "Well that's nice. Still, I figure you got what you came here for. If there's anything else I can help you with, though, just ask." Pondering a bit, he smiles easily. "You might even consider checking out a book, eh?" |

"Hmm..." Aurora ponders for a moment. "If you have anything that might have more information about these stones, then yes, I'd love to." |

Kursten nods. "I'm sure we do. I think I might know a bit more off the top of my head, but there's no harm in consulting the literature on something like this." Walking back outside of the office, he goes back into his huge piles of books, carefully avoiding stepping on the tomes. "Hmm...Aha! I think this might be what you're looking for...but it's awfully technical. Can you read this well enough?" |

"Hm... let me see." Aurora creeps over to peer over Kursten's shoulder at the tome. "...Yes, I think I can. May I ask what else you might know?" |

Kursten hums loudly. "Well, it's hard to say without getting asked specifically..." Rubbing the back of his neck, he thinks a bit more. "Well..like I already told you, they're power sources. Like a two-in-one engine and fuel source at the same time. They were used to power vehicles and buildings back when the Gods lived on the surface as well as the sky." Kursten winces a bit. "That's probably a bit too extraneous, though." He rubs his arm slightly, before pulling out a different book. "This one's my property, sorry. Can't let you borrow it. I can't imagine you could read it, anyway." The book in question radiates an energy equal but opposite to the gem in Aurora's possession, a power easily sensed by other magi. The script is completely illegible, some forgotten language from days gone by. "Hmm...aha! This book says that the power the crystal holds might even be connected to one of the gods, or at least blessed by it's power when it was constructed. That's interesting...we really don't know how the power sources function. If this book is right, though...hmm..." Kursten grins. "If it really is truly divine energy in there, of that scale...that's very interesting. And very, very relevant for a magus." Turning back to Aurora, Kursten laughs sheepishly. "Well...sorry about that, I get engrossed in stuff pretty easily. Do you have any more specific questions?" |

"Just one. Does it say anywhere what this crystal is called?" |

"Ha!" Kursten begins to thumb through the first book, trying to find something. "This text just refers to it as a 'Power Source.'" Not really specific. Turning back to the magical tome, he bites his lower lip. "Huh. This one says that the power sources are named in association with the god that blessed it, it refers to a 'Diamond of Horus'. You'd be best off looking for whichever god or goddess was associated with gravity...or maybe the stars, since I doubt there was a unified theory at that point...in this region. Which...I think I can help you with!" Thumbing through a book on ancient religious rites, he tries to find an associative myth. "I don't suppose you had any kind of dreams that would help you piece this together or anything? The only way that gods deign to contact this world at all anymore is through dreams...and maybe with such a powerful artifact?" Kursten leaves the sentence hanging. |

"Hm, alright." At Kursten's question, Aurora shakes her head. "No, I haven't. At least, not yet." |

Kursten sighs. "Well, it was worth a shot. Still...seems like we could look into Native American myth, or it might be something brought over long ago. It's really hard to tell. If you get some kind of inkling on it, though, we can probably work it out. Any title we give it would just be a working one...there's no real way to be sure..." He tilts his head slightly. "You know, I don't think I ever got your name. Mine's Kursten by the way, glad to meet you." |
