The shop seemed nice enough, for a shop that was nearer to the outskirts than her father considered safe and which also sold objects primarily used to kill people and creatures. The sign above the door read ‘The Drunken Huntsman’ in dirty white letters that furled away from the wood at the edges and it had a list of opening hours taped to the glass door. Destiny checked her wallet, then tucked it safely back into her back and pushed the door open. The inside smelt like gunpowder and wet dog, which kind of set her at ease. Bad people usually killed their dogs, right? Unless they were crazy dogs... but you can’t run a business with crazy dogs, so she was fine! With this in mind, she approached the counter and started examining the guns in their glass cases, hands tucked behind her back. |

Destiny bit her lip and pondered on this. It was kind of a big decision and all, so she had to be super special sure of it. "I reckon I'd prefer to go with new. My dad always told me to go with new for the first try, because owners rub off on what they own, and if they're nothing like you yourself, then you'll just have lots of trouble and it'll turn you off the whole thing." She nodded her head in agreement with her long-dead dad. "I don't mean to be disrespecting ye-your craftsmanship or anything like that, but I'd like to follow his advice and see if there was anything in it. And new stuff usually has taken less abuse, which is good too!" |

Micah nods, still smiling, and replies, "Right, right. Well, let me see what I can find for ya." Crouching down, he rummages around behind the counter for a bit. Then he stands up and sets two hard-shell pistol cases on the counter. They're each closed with a padlock, and he grabs the keys off of a pegboard on the wall. Opening the locks, he flips the cases open and turns them to show Destiny. Both guns are essentially the same, with the only difference being that one has a bright, stainless-steel slide. The other has the slide anodized to match the rest of the gun, turning the entire thing black. Indicating the dull black of the second gun, Micah says, "Th' bright one's th' same price as the Inox, but the Inox is harder to see." |

Destiny looked at the guns, examining them with an eye so inexpert, it was in remedial class. She very much wanted to hold them, but she had the feeling that there was very much an unspoken 'look, don't touch' rule in place. Like with strippers! "I think I'll go with the totally black one." she said finally. "I'm not really sure, but it kind of look like the finish that you get on frying pans to make them non-stick and resistant to rusting, and that seems like a good idea. I might be totally super wrong thugh. That happens too!" She brightened up. "Besides, it looks more threatening, and when you look like me, you need to make your gun look super threatening so people don't try mug and murder you even after you pull it out! I'd sure hate to actually have to seriously hurt someone because they think my gun is a sissy!" |

Micah nods. "Right, the Inox finish is designed to keep it from rustin'. Does look mean as hell, though, don't it?" He chuckles. "Right then, this is th' one?" He takes the gun out of its case, keeping the muzzle pointed at the counter, and hits the magazine release. When nothing drops out, he nods and flips up the barrel to check the chamber. After ensuring that it's empty, he closes the gun back up and offers it grip-first to Destiny. Chuckling again, he says, "Here, get a feel for it. One hand 'round the grip, th' other over that ta brace it." |

Destiny took the gun with confidence. Despite her apparent fluffiness, she did have at least a little experience with them. She bounced it in her hand a little, feeling the heaviness of it. It was a bit lighter than she'd expected, but it was without a clip. With it, it'd probably be just fine. She flicked the safety on, then off again, then pointed it down at her feet and tested the trigger a few times. Satisfied with that, she began aiming at various spots on the floor, taking care to not aim it at the counter, or the people behind it. Sure, it was unloaded, but that was still just rude! "I like it!" she said after about a minute of this. "I'm pretty sure that even with the clip, it'll be lighter than my last gun, and that suits me just fine. Is it easy to take apart?" |

Micah watched her handle the gun for a moment, then nodded. She really wasn't entirely new to this, then. "Force o' habit," he said, seemingly by way of apology. He smiled at her enthusiasm, and nodded. "Shouldn't be too hard, there's not much to it. Blowback pistols like this're some o' the simplest actions they make. There's instructions on how ta field-strip it in th' manual." He tapped a booklet tucked into a pocket on the upper half of the case. |

Destiny set down the gun on the counter and tugged out the booklet. She skimmed through the first few pages, trying to absorb as many useful facts in as little time as possible. Maybe she should have learnt to speedread, now that she thought about it. "Ooh, I can't wait to learn how to do this all properly. Just looking at this, I can see just how utterly and completely I fucked it up last time! I can't wait to not do that again!" |

Chuckling, Micah says, "It's a bit different'n what you're probably used to, just because it ain't a recoil system - only th' breech moves in normal operation." Gathering up the cash Destiny had set on the counter, Micah gives it a quick count, then asks, "You're sure this is the one ya want?" He motions to Brady, who looks up from what he was doing and nods. Then he goes to open the point-of-sale software on the register, nodding to himself as it comes up. |

"I'm pretty sure it's the one I'd like! If it's not, then I can just buy another, and then I can put the effort into learning both and then pick whichever one is most suitable for my needs, based on whatever design is better at handling minor explosions. I'm pretty sure baby explosions are the whole principle of guns though, so that should work out just fine!" She counted out the money again and placed it on the counter. "Does this come with ammunition, Mr Puledri, or is that extra?" |

Micah chuckles at Destiny's comment about explosions. Nodding as she asks about ammunition, he says, "S'pose I can spot ya some ta get used to it. Two cases, thirty rounds each - that's about seventy bucks' worth. 'Bout all I can do without sending me into th' red on this sale. That work? |
