The fifth circle of Reliquia, the circle of Chareen. As the section of the city hovers well off the ground, the air is thin and chilly. Shivering, Aurora pulls her shawl tight across her shoulders and makes for a bench. In the span of but a few miles, it's like she's in an entirely different climate than her native 7th circle, and she's anything but used to it. Thankfully, classwork is over for the day. She would have some biting words for her teacher on her return, though. She slumps into the bench, glancing about. Her hotel room for this trip is nearby, at least. Now to just decide where to grab a bite from. |

Chareen's Circle was always a bit of a bitch in the colder times. The air being cold wasn't helped by the biting winds and occasional cloudbank that was low enough to cause an extremely chilly fog so naturally, one of the best things people who lived here did was work out ways to stay warm. That involved a lot of heating. Which needed a lot of generators. And luckily, Russell Taylor knew his way around a generator. Actually wearing his punk jacket for once, the mechanic had the Halford stashed over one shoulder, counting his money from a recent tune up of one of the many generators in the city. Gotta make sure he got paid the right amount, he couldn't afford to really skimp out on any payments, especially with the rent for the shop going up in price. Know what? Probably shouldn't be counting this in broad daylight or in the middle of the damn street. he thought to himself, stuffing the wad of money into his pocket. What he didn't catch was a few notes slipping free of the band holding them all together and due to the air currents, flapping about lazily in the wind down the path behind him. |

"Hm?" Aurora's eyes fall on the trailing notes. In a sudden surge of movement, she darts forward and collects them, before dashing over to catch up with who they had fallen from. She taps him on the shoulder from behind. "Um, pardon me. I think you dropped these." |

Okay, he hadn't even seen the girl before she moved. In fact, he'd been so absorbed in his money based counting that to be honest, most of the outside world had disappeared until they'd been stowed away in his jeans pocket. Kinda of a bad thing to lose your spatial awareness so thoroughly when absorbed in something, but that was for another time. Whatever. Point was, girl had moved fast and surprised him. That was why he'd jumped nearly a foot off the ground. "Sonuva...! Bit of warning next time!" he half chided, half chuckled as he tried to get his heart rate back under control. Still, hard to ignore the money she was waving in front of him. He peered at it and...well...it COULD have been some of his own. "...hey, thanks." Rust said after a moment, taking the cash. "Not a lot of people would have done that...thanks a lot." ...okay, so now he got a good look at her without his surprise making him think a million miles a minute. Straight black hair, blue eyes and damn, pretty cute to boot. "Name's Russel. Call me Rust, everyone does." he found himself introducing...well....himself. "Nice to meet you, Miss...?" |

"Aurora Endicott. A pleasure, Rust." Aurora smiles up at him as she hands him the money. "And it's no problem, really." With a little giggle, she peers down. "Would you happen to know this area? I'm trying to find a nice place to eat before retiring for the night." |

Endicott...hmm....name rings a certain bell, not sure where from though. Rust just watched as the girl asked her question, stuffing the rest of the money down into his jeans pocket to join it's brethren. Seemed she was fairly new to Chareen's Circle. Couldn't say he blamed her really. Place was freezing most of the time and unless you were a sightseer, it wasn't exactly somewhere you'd want to go for some relaxation. "Ah yeah, I know it pretty decently." he nodded as she laid out her request. "Done a couple of jobs round here when the generators go down. If you're looking for good food at a cheap price, I'm always a fan of Jamieson's Cafe. Guy working there is a decent sort and not the type to spit in food, so...yeah, if I had to fork out cash, that's where I'd go." |

"Mm, I see..." Aurora ponders for a moment, before deciding yes, that does sound quite lovely right now. "Alright, sure. Would you care to lead me there?" |

Rust blinked at the straight to the point question. He made double sure that his money was still safely in his pocket. You never knew sometimes in Reliquus. There were some odd types. Huh. Didn't expect that if I'm honest... Still, she didn't seem too suspicious. She wouldn't have given the money back in the first place if she'd actually wanted to rob him. Plus, he had what was strapped to his back, so... Dude, you're overthinking this. Girl just wants to be shown where to go in Chareen's circle. Not exactly asking you to build a mecha from scratch here. He gave a smirk and nodded. "Yeah, sure thing. Tell you what, I'll pay as payment for getting my money back, alright? Fair's fair." |

Aurora grins and nods as she falls into step beside him. "Works for me. Thanks!" As they walk, she ponders his earlier words. "So, you work on the generators? Like, as a mechanic or something?" |

Rust just span a little on his heel and beckoned her over towards the direction of Jamieson's. Sure, he'd play tour guide. Not as if he had anything else going on today. "Yeah, old man Grantham gives me a tip or two cause my work tends to hold up better than anyone else from the Teslan ring. Or maybe he feels sorry for me, most do." he joked, pitifully. "What's the idea coming to Chareen's ring, anyway? Most tend to be here for business. Not really a tourist spot." |
